Barley three days to the governorship election in Kogi and Bayelsa States, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has disqualified the APC deputy governorship candidate, Biobarakuma Degi from taking part in the Bayelsa governorship election in November.

Justice Inyang Ekwo held that Mr. Degi supplied false information in support of his nomination.

The court held that Degi forged his certificates, to enable him to contest election as counsellor.

The Appeal Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Monday, November 11, 2019 has affirmed the victory of Mr Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Oyo State governorship election.

Tension in the National assembly as the leadership of the NASS may pass a no confidence vote on the Clerk to the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani Omolori.

The planned vote is a fallout of a stormy meeting between the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan and Omolori held in Abuja last Wednesday.

The Chairman Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, on Wedneday said INEC cannot disqualify Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi state, for double registration.

The Court of Appeal Sokoto Division on Wednesday returned Ibrahim Danbaba and Balarabe Kakale as Senator and House of Representative member in the National Assembly, respectively.

In a short judgement read by Justice Frederick Oho, the court said that the appeal filed by Messrs Danbaba and Kakale, both candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during 2019 election, have succeeded and details on the judgement will be given later.
