The Ogba Magistrates Court in Lagos on Friday, March 20, has sent two teachers of the Dupwal Montessori School located at Adesola Street off Sanni Balogun Road, Abule Egba area of Lagos into prison over shaved pupil’s hair.

Two female school teachers named, Bukky Adamu, 25 and Ronke Adekoya, 30, have landed in trouble after they reportedly shaved the bushy hair of a 5-year old pupil inside the school in Lagos.

Recall that about seven months, there was a standoff between Governor Kayode Fayemi and some Monarchs under the aegis of the Alademerindinlogun (meaning 16 crowned Obas) or the 16 Pelupelu Obas.

Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Friday, March 20 has ordered the Ekiti civil and public servants from level 12 and below to stay at home to work in the state indefinitely as measures in preventing the spread of Coronavirus disease in the state.

The affected institutions, except essential services like health workers, Caregivers, social welfare officers, fire service officers, emergency response officers, and security guards/ watchmen in public institutions.

Also, all public and private schools and institutions in Ekiti State are to close down from Monday 23rd March 2020

Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Friday, March 20 has ordered the closure of public and private schools in the state indefinitely as measures in preventing the spread of coronavirus disease in the state.

The affected institutions include tertiary, secondary and primary schools.

Mr Fayemi said that the closure of schools and other public gathering places take effect from Monday, March 23, 2020.

The governor also banned all forms of gathering involving 30 people and above as part of the preventive measures against the pandemic.

David Lyon, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November governorship election in Bayelsa state, has asked people not to blame Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, his running mate, for his removal.

Although Lyon was declared winner of the election, the supreme court sacked him on the grounds that his running mate presented forged documents to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Twenty-four hours later, Douye Diri, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, was sworn in as governor.

In a statement signed by Alphine Ogoh, his media aide, Lyon appealed to his supporters to remain calm and allow the legal team of the party explore “all remedies available in law to restore the mandate of the people”.

He described as “unfounded” the allegations that he was encouraging people to engage in violence following the judgement.

He said stakeholders have the liberty to express their opinions on issues but it should be within the ambit of the law.

“Chief David Lyon reassures Nigerians and the peace-loving people of Bayelsa state that as a law-abiding citizen, he will never support, sponsor or direct anyone to engage in acts inimical to the progress and wellbeing of the same people he seeks to govern, ” the statement read.

“Chief David Lyon insists that those who know him and have interacted with him can attest to the indisputable fact that he is a peace-loving person.

” Chief David Lyon has respect for civil liberty and believes in legal and democratic processes of resolving issues.

The National security adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), recently said that some strange persons have been the one preceding over matters of governance.

Nigerians have taken on social media faulted the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s approach to ask his son to sack his secretary in order for his son to avoid falling into the sin of adultery.

Recall that Pastor Adeboye took to his Twitter page on Wednesday, January 29, to share -marriage advice to couples as he asked them to “crush that crush.”

The cleric said in a message titled, “Crush that crush,” that it was important for married couples to keep their bodies holy like the temple of God.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), on Monday, January 27, has advised the South-west states Governors that the new security organization named Amotekun should not lean towards any religion or target any ethnic group for victimization.

The group also called the governors to allow the Operation Amotekun embrace all citizens living in the sub-region.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Director of the human rights organization, Prof. Ishaq Akintola.

The apex court declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the March 9 governorship election in the state.

Consequently, she voided and set aside the declaration of Mr lhedioha as the winner of the 2019 governorship election.
