Mehn.... I am tired of waiting o..the phone I ordered for someone that came in since last week Thursday is yet to get to me at Onitsha, till now. What's wrong with Nipost sef? It didn't even take a week for the order to arrive naija from China, but it's almost a week now since it got to Lagos and I still can't get it. |
Akiintom:Your first question is quite simple; when you yield yourself to the originator of this idea that transcends human sensors, as you put it, He will reveal all to you and make it abundantly clear to you. To the second question, the answer is in my answer to your first question. If you had an understanding of life the way we do through the leading of the spirit of God, only then will you understand that this physical life and world are only but temporal and that the life after death is eternal... But before you can fully grasp all these, you have to yield yourself to the master. |
LogicStatement:Stop being ridiculous, please! Abraham is dead! Dead to this world even if he lives in heaven, same way the rich man is also dead! Saying two dead men speaking to each other is very appropriate, my friend! Spiritual death is different, we are talking about physical death. As long as that Bible passage you quoted is concerned, it was two physical dead people talking with each other; one was in hell and the other in God's presence, none was physically alive! Until you show me where in the Bible that talks about a physically living human being asking a physically dead saint to intercede for him, then all you're doing is just mental masturbation. Please if you can't do the above, don't quote me, I'm tired of showing you how ignorant and misguided you are. |
easymancfc:You have said nothing! Address the points I raised. |
easymancfc:Just negodu....what effrontery to twist the Bible! Uncle, Mary gave birth to other children; Jesus had brothers and at least one sister. Mary never died a virgin! You lots shouldn't forget that after Joseph discovered that Mary was with child, he wanted to call off the marriage but an angel appeared and asked him to take marry home as his wife. Now, tell me, does it mean that the marriage which even God through his angel ordained was later dissolved? Wouldn't that be a direct disobedience on the part of Joseph? Or you want us to believe that for all the days Joseph and Mary lived as man and wife, they didn't consummate the marriage? This so sad! [b]Matthew 1:20 ► New International Version But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. New Living Translation As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said, "do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. English Standard Version But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. Berean Study Bible But after he had pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. Splinz:You dey mind them? Idolaters! The problem is that they do not even know what Catholicism is about, and I don't even want to go into that, given the kind of shallowness they have displayed already. Roman Catholic isn't a church, but a cult! Before quotes me, please show us a copy of the detailed events, proclamation and whatnots, during knighthood imitation. If you are looking for the seat of Antichrist, look no further, it is staring you in the face in the form of a church! And please before anyone quotes me, tell me what you know about the black Pope, tell me what you know about the Jesuits, their vows and covenants, tell me what you know about the connection between Catholicism and islam, but if you can't tell me all these, then hold your peace. |
LogicStatement:Lol...this is laughable, really! A dead rich man in hell right, and being a soul, made a request to another dead saint- The dead talking to the dead! Now, please tell me, how does this explain and validate the living asking the dead to intercede on their behalf? Please use another Bible passage to confirm your statement. |
easymancfc:Lol... I can't see any connection between the elders and intercession..please point it out maybe my brain is too small to connect the dots. Just do this simple thing and I will give you your peace. |
easymancfc:Brother, I tire for your matter o... seriously! What's all that you put up there? Simple, tell me who those elders are, and you're writing history. Your problem is; you read the Bible and then give your own meaning to the things you read, meaning that will aid your erroneous beliefs. Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. Please highlight any part of the above scripture that even in the smallest of way, suggests or insinuates that these said elders interceded for the saints. Please make it simple, no long talks. |
easymancfc:The 24 elders are humans? Really? Please tell me who they are and please use biblical backing. I'm not an authority on the scriptures, but the practice that doesn't have a direct and clear biblical foundation is a deviation from Christianity. All I ask is that you show me in the Bible where the practice is directly referred to or where we are commanded by God to do same, then you win! |
easymancfc:Smh...you read the Bible and make out your own meaning, just to give fake credence to your fake religious practices. Besides the holy spirit who makes intercession for us and through us, Jesus is the only other part of the Trinity who makes intercession for our sins. Until you show me where in explicitly says that saints make intercession for us, I don't mean giving me Bible passages that you implied its meaning on your own...show me Bible passages where it is clear and direct about the subject of saints interceding for us. |
easymancfc:I pity your gross ignorance! So, the spirit is now dead saints? Please tell me who those elders in that passage are! The prayers of the saints mentioned there, are the prayers of the saints here on earth: ◄ Psalm 141:2 ► New International Version May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. New Living Translation Accept my prayer as incense offered to you, and my upraised hands as an evening offering. English Standard Version Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice! You, my friend, are grossly ignorant and misguided! |
easymancfc:Just show me anywhere in the Bible that talks about saints in heaving making intercession and I will show you in the Bible where Jesus was declared not just the mediator but also our intercessor in heaven. |
easymancfc:That's purely your opinion and it has no biblical foundation. |
LogicStatement:Please shut up already! Their are dead saints and living saints! The ones you pray to are dead to us, even if they are living in heaven! And let me categorically say this: no saint in heaven can in heaven can ever intervened for you. The job of intercession belongs exclusively to Jesus! |
LogicStatement:Uncle, please stop twisting the scriptures! All the people you mentioned who made intercession according to you, were all living. No dead saint can help you, only Christ can! For there is only one mediator between man and God, and He is Jesus Christ! I repeat, no dead saint can help you! |
PastorAIO:Like I said, the Christian life transcends logic! Human logic is very limited and myopic, but that doesn't mean that Christians are illogical, it rather means that we have come to understand how limited human logic is, and also come to understand the true working of the spirit of God in our lives, that has over time, come to make us appreciate the fact that we have to view the universe and everything that happens in it from the creator's perspective, and when you yield yourself totally to the creator's perspective, only then will you truly understand that life itself is a mystery that makes logic look most silly.. How can I trust the logical explanation of scientists who are still in the journey of understanding the universe? How can I give myself totally to the logic of a bunch of people who over the years are still trying to make a meaning of life? They do not have all the answers yet, but then they want us to believe that theirs is the best view of life? How does that sound to you? I'd rather trust the One who was in the very beginning, even before the universe came into being. The Christian life is the higher life! |
Discrediting the authenticity of the Bible, and then using the same Bible to validate her Islamic delusion...SMH |
Topgainer:Wow! Your descerning cap is tight, sir... Best post I have read in a long time. |
chemystery:I'm sorry, you haven't answered my question. Everyone who does good or bad has a moral compass, people do not do things for doing sake; a person who does good has his reasons and likewise a person who does evil and they're guided by their individual moral compass. Your response is just a subtle attack on religion, and as much as I disagree, I won't make any attempt in defending religion, and that's because I do not practice religion; I am a Christian who seeks to emulate the lifestyle of Christ. My question still stands: what is the moral compass of an atheist? |
justiniyke29:What if it harms you spiritually? Don't you think that spiritually harm is even worse? |
SafeDavid:I would like to the know the moral compass of an atheist... Seun, you can help enlighten me. |

You cannot obey simple instructment. |
If a group of Christians sat down to list perplexing passages, it wouldn't take long for someone to mention Matthew 24:15-16: “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” The reasons for uncertainty are easy to list. What is an abomination? What abomination does Jesus have in mind? One that belongs to his generation, or one from the last days? What is the connection between the prophecies of Daniel and Jesus? Who is “the reader,” and what should he or she understand? In what sense should readers “flee to the mountains”? Should they obey literally or metaphorically? As always, the first step is to read the text in literary, cultural, historical, and canonical contexts. Then we analyze the structure of the passage and do the necessary lexical and grammatical work. We begin with the key phrase, “abomination of desolation.” The term “abomination” (Hebrew toevah and siqqus) appears more than 100 times in the Old Testament and just a few times in the New Testament. An abomination is normally a great sin, commonly worthy of death. Readers immersed in current debates about sexual ethics may first think an abomination is a sexual sin. Indeed, Scripture calls sexual sins like adultery, homosexuality, and bestiality abominations (e.g., Leviticus 18:22, 29-30). But more often throughout the Bible “abomination” refers to major covenant violations, especially idolatry (in Deuteronomy alone, see 7:25, 13:6-16, 17:2-5, 18:9-12, 27:15, 32:16). In the historical books, “abomination” always describes idolatry, often with child sacrifice (1 Kings 11:7, 2 Kings 23:13). Abomination also refers to idolatry in the prophets, including Daniel 9 and 11. (Daniel uses siqqus, a term that always appears in connection with idolatry.) The interpretation of Daniel 9-11 is difficult and disputed, but it does have some fixed points, and the nature of the abomination that causes desolation is one of them. Daniel 9:26-27 refers to a prince who will destroy the city (Jerusalem) along with its temple and sacrifices, “and on the wings of abominations shall come one who makes desolate.” Two chapters later there is another reference to an “abomination” in connection to the temple: “forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the regular burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate” (11:31). Scholars generally agree that the first reference of these prophecies is the Seleucid king Antiochus Epiphanes IV, who ruled Palestine from 175-64 B.C. Antiochus treated Israel with such violence and contempt that they rebelled against him. When he came to suppress the rebellion, his forces entered the temple, stopped the regular sacrifices, set up an idol of or altar for Zeus, and apparently offered swine there as a sacrifice. This is an abomination because it is idolatry, and it brings desolation because it defiles the holy place at the heart of Israel. This act was the abomination “of” desolation, the abomination “causing” desolation. |
GreenPlumes:You sound like you're a strong believer, yet you sound so ignorant...sorry to put it that way. We as Christians have the kind of power and control over the forces of darkness, only through the knowledge of the word. Now, if you do have such power to withstand occultic and witchcraft elements, then I honestly think you should know better than opening this thread. The Bible says it is appointed for man to die once, and after that, judgement. What you see is a demon!. Your mum is dead and gone! All you see is a demon using the face of your mum to control your life. Now the demon is making you do something that seems good for weird reasons, tomorrow that same demon will ask you to do something terrible and before you know it, you will totally be under the control of such demon, because the more you open your mind to it and do its biddings, the more it takes hold of your heart. |
. I tell you, they'll do everything, including even denying God, just to uphold their rank idolatry and paganism!
