BUT we cannot assume this is what the person who asked this question will earn based on the new MW. Salaries in the public service (a wider scope which includes the civil service) are based on structures. Hence, we have CONPSS (used by the civil service and consequently the poorest of all) and other salary structures used by other departments and agencies of government (CONTISS, CONRAISS, CONPASS, CONAFSS, CONMESS, CONHESS, CONTENDIS, CONPOSS, CONTOPSAL, etc).
This disparity in salary structures is the major reason why some entry-level graduates earn ₦49,000 monthly in some agencies/Ministries and another will earn ₦140,000, some ₦250,000 and some very lucky ones ₦400,000 monthly. That's a topic for another day anyway!

Having said that, I am guessing that the inquirer should be on Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure - CONPSS for his salary to be that low. Even at that, what is obtainable as monthly NET pay (after all statutory deductions) for Level 08/02 in the CONPSS (for civil servants working in the main Ministries) is about ₦49,000. Therefore, the difference of ₦17,000 which brings his monthly NET to ₦66,000 could just be allowances in form of rent subsidy, transport allowance, etc.

It is imperative to note that the 66.67% increase will be on his basic salary which is ₦49,000. Also, allowances are USUALLY calculated as a percentage of basic salary i.e Transport allowance can be fixed at 10% of basic salary, rent subsidy at 25% of basic salary, etc. This will mean that the inquirer could earn even way above N110k or even lesser depending on which allowance(s) is retained or removed and at what percentage of his basic salary they are pegged.

The time ND effort we spend on alabi which is a sham would pay off if we channel such effort to something more profitable. B4 some ppl will tag me as a fallen soldier of alabi pls note I had lots of winnings in punting ND I still know the game.
