@BruceXavier.. Did you get a response? Have you booked your biometrics? BruceXavier: As of today, what's the earliest appointment date for either VI or Ikeja?
Secondly is there a way to check this without necessarily accessing the portal to book an appointment? |

Congratulations! Please share your timeline if you don't mind. RyRyan: Hello, I just received my Original Passport Request. I have two questions:
- Do I need to book an appointment with VFS for passport submission? - How long does it take for the passport to be returned after submission?
Will appreciate responses please. |

Thank you for sharing and sorry about the refusal. Any travel history for your people or this was a first time application? Safe to say they are treating April applications now. The processing time has certainly reduced. Towerofgrace: For people wanting to know about timeline
My people applied April 24, using the old gckey portal and they got a response today even though it is refusal but it took 1 month for IRCC to process their application, so like someone said IRCC is treating applications just that refusal rate is high reason people haven't really been sharing their timelines as such
Reason for refusal insufficient asset and financial situation Purpose of visit not consistent with temporary stay |

Congratulations! Hopefully this serves as a motivation for more people to share their timelines. kpiper2473: Passport request came at exactly 6.30 when i was driving out of the house. TimeLine
I submitted my application on January 13, 2025. My current TRV was set to expire on April 10, 2025, which coincided with the expiration date of my biometric validity. I thought making an early application before the expiration of my current visa would improve my chances.
After submission, I checked online for information on how to renew my biometrics before they expired but couldn't find any clear guidance. Instead, I stumbled upon information about making additional payments. I made the payment, obtained the receipt, and uploaded it via a web form.
About a month later, I received a response from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) inquiring about the purpose of the payment. I explained the situation.
May 2, 2025: I received a call from my bank asking if I had used my statement for a visa application, as IRCC needed to verify the information.
May 13: I received a notification stating that my biometrics had expired. I was worried, thinking that the web form submission was a waste of time and money. However, on May 14, at around 2 a.m., I received a Biometric Validity Letter (BVL) instruction. I booked an appointment for the same day and completed my biometrics.( na rush hour them born me,i dey always rush everything)
May 20 which is today: PPR request around 6:30 a.m. I just de come back from VFS as I de type like like this. No time to check time |

Did you pay for making the change at the center? @Labelle Labelle: This is the problem we are all facing, call TLS tomorrow and ask them about your situation, call before 9am so you won't have to wait for long. But from my experience, no need to fill a new form if you want to change your dates. They change it for you at the center. But you must leave at least 30 days between date of submission and travel date. |

Thank you for your response. You raised a valid question regarding the final "resting" place of the documents submitted. I do hope they are destroyed properly or filed appropriately. I wish you a successful outcome. diehard: I submitted the following docs; banks statement (foreign and local), cover letter, insurance, dud flight and accommodation booking, current and past visas, data page of my passport, letter of recommendation from my employer and salary package. Docs from kids schools. My kids birth certificate, marriage certificate, Land documents from govt.
They don't need original but I made coloured photocopies of my docs.
Does anyone have a clue of what happened to all these documents we submit to these embassies? Scammers can easily get a hold of our documents for bad purposes. So be careful for what you submit to these people. |

Could you please share the documents you submitted..Are we required to bring the originals of all the documents we are submitting? Are we making 2 copies of each document?
Please share your experience to guide us.
Thank youuuu.

May I suggest you take a break from applying? Sunnepa50: Cashmadam, Giselle and all the experts in the group I have been following this group for months now and I can tell you that you guys are really doing a great job God will reward you all.
I have requested contacts the other time so I will be able to explain better, however wasn’t granted due abuse of it which was fully understood I’m left with no other option to explain everything on here
I had mentioned it earlier that my mum had been denied three times now although the reason stated has been addressed before the second and the third trial I had claimed that she is employed just because she she is a petty trader Have included all receipts of her trade in the application and I have confirmed that I’ll be the sole sponsor of her trip. I submitted our bank statement cos I felt she won’t be needing it cos I mention it on the letter that I’ll be the full sponsor and the reason for the dinner at the first one is that The circumstance depends on her and the second one was that there are large some of money unexplained on the account which obviously there is none so
So in the last application I gave to an agent cos I feel maybe I’m not doing something right, perhaps needs the touch of a professional, which was more than one year now, I’ve also confirmed that I will be the full sponsor. I have included six months account statement, which has enough money in it. My partner myself has written an invitation letter with as well written, sponsorship letter, we have included family pictures included the child certificate And we have confirmed that we are the one sponsoring her all our documents are submitted with the application to my surprise. The reason for the decline is not clear to me because they actually states that they are not sure I will be able to sponsor her in spite of the fact that I’ve got enough money for the trip. my wife has submitted a sleep, bank statement. I have submitted my payslip my bank statement as well, I’m sure they did not look into the submitted document very well because there’s no way I could have proved a personal relationship with my mom without me submitting a birth certificate pictures that involve myself and my mom involve my dad and my mom to show home ties which I did I don’t know what else to do, that’s why I’ve actually brought it here Please guys what do you advise me to do in the next application as I have been building the account for the past seven months now I’ve got my sister to be sending money to her account as the monthly upkeep , I have as well, been sending money to her as monthly upkeep, she hasn’t used the account since then for any other thing other than the upkeep and she withdraws too from it
I have sent the previous refusal letters on here too so you can advise me well. This is really giving me concern Thanks guys |

Hi, I had my children in 2020 and spent a little over two months abroad during that period. When I was interviewed, the Visa Officer asked how I managed to stay for that long. I explained that I was on a 3-month maternity leave, in addition to my annual leave. The officer also asked for my delivery date and clarified that I wasn’t affected by the executive order signed by Trump at the time. The VO then asked if I was planning to give birth while in the U.S. and explicitly advised me not to use my visa for that purpose. He mentioned that the B1/B2 visa could no longer be used for childbirth. My visa was then granted, and I have been able to renew since then with no issues. I hope this information is helpful!
