I had my Dropbox move from Received to Issued to Approved. I am a bit confused about the implications. Also, when will I receive my passport as there has been no mail in my spam yet since seeing this?
The delay is unprecedented and mind boggling to be honest.
What could be the issue really?
Purpleplus: I also submitted on the 12th of July, Status still says "Application Received ". My husband picked his own 2weeks after we submitted, we submitted together. Someone mentioned yesterday that he submitted on the 10th of July and still waiting as well.
Mine is actually a visit visa and I submitted since July.
Status is still on Application received.
Browser123: August 12th Full transparency, I’m not seeking a visit visa. I’m on a H visa, this is just to get the visas in our passports. We have approved petitions. There just isn’t a thread for people like me that I could find and the renewal process is the same.
Browser123: Has anyone received a passport pickup email this week? My visa was issued yesterday with interview waiver (tracked on CEAC) and I’m still waiting.
Mamabella: Good evening everyone. Hope we all have great day. Please did anyone submit their Passport for IW and have gotten their passport back ? Date of our submission was 29 July.
Background - Owing to the long wait time for visa appointment for IW application I was lay back in filling our (DW, son and myself) DS 160 form as Abuja had 86 days while Lagos had about 117 days as at first week of June 2024. I later started filling the form with Abuja in mind as the place of submission. I got our photos ready by 15th July, 2024 and was about making payments for the visa when I decided to have a look at the wait time for visa appointment again by 17th July. And Voila! Lagos had 6 days , I quickly filled another form for Lagos for the 3 of us, made payment, detached my family from my appointment scheduled portal and opened new portal for DW and son, then scheduled each person. The next day, appointment days were released for us all, and we chose the 24th of July for submission.
Timeline
24th July 2024- Submission at DHL Surulere 25th July 2024- Passports delivered to consular office 26th July 2024- Application approved by consular officer subject to final processing 29th July 2024- Visa issued 30th July 2024 – Passports received from consular session and is currently being processed for delivery 31st July 2024- Passports ready for pickup 7th August 2024- Passports were picked up from DHL Surulere with five years visa for us all.
mulannoire: hello guys. I submitted my passport for dropbox on the 22nd of May, 2024 and it is yet to be returned over 6 weeks later. Is this unusual, and is there anything i can do as i have an impending trip?
Applying for a tourist visa would have been easier.
Slimszy: Hello, the program is within a period of time, according to my invitation letter. I am going their for an Artist in Residence program, and its solely dependent on when I arrive on site, as I will creating works physically.
You mean being an artist who have a studio practice based in Nigeria isn't a tie? I have been to other countries for same program and being an artist hasn't been an issue. For tax, I didn't include that because I use my personal account most times for my transactions with clients.
Well, maybe I should have applied for Tourism instead of Business. But on their application website, it's an option to choose (art/cultural) for short stay business visa.
Thank you for sharing your experience. More happy outcomes for those believing for same.
Franklin2323: April 8, 2024 - Applied for dropbox but was refused under 221G and asked to schedule interview
B1/B2 interview (221G) Lagos Nigeria- 20th June 2024
VO is Black/Asian or Indian American VO(very critical ,stern and thorough man)
VO - where do you work? ME - I work at bla bla lagos Nigeria as Manager
VO- why are you visiting USA ME - Holiday/ transit to Canada after
VO- why are you visiting Canada ME - Most of my family are in Canada
VO - Do you have a Canadian visa? ME - I am a Canadian PR
VO - Really? Why are you a Canada PR ME - Because I am and most of my siblings are either PR or Citizens

VO - Bosnia and Serbia (Surprised)why were you in Bosnia and Serbia Me- Went for a friends wedding in Bosnia and visited Serbia mostly coz my luggage was lost in Serbia Airport so i took matter into my own hands and drove to Serbia airport to get it
VO - okay nice, was the friend who wedded in Bosnia Nigerian? Me - No, he is Pakistani but lives in London

VO - Laughs…okay okay ( u don win) here is this white paper…bla bla bla and enjoy your trip ME - thanks (in my mind i mustered small small dey reject these people visa oga, fear God small but thank you o)
*Addition* I purposely inserted my Canadian Health Card and PR card inside my Passport when he requested for just my passport…dont wanna take chances. He picked the health card up later after the the interview and looked at it in Admiration. Something the USA does not have. Ntooooo to them
Also, the VO denied 7 out of the 10 people before me. Its like he had a particular vendetta for women who gave birth with their visas in the past.
Theres no question he didnt ask them yet denied most of them. He went as far as a calculating when they got their visa to when they gave birth to prove to them that they had the intention of giving birth when they were applying for their visas.
The man is something else. And it was just him that did all interviews for 221G today.
Cashmadam: I know this is not the German Visa thread. Please help if you have the information. How can I pay for a German visa? It used to be strictly cash. Do I still need to take cash or can I pay with my card. Please help if you have the correct information. Thank you
Based on my review of the refusal letter: Age of your niece, insufficient evidence as it relates to her welfare whilst in the UK and the validity of the sponsor/family inviting her.
How old is she?
Sorry about the refusal.
BooSee: Hello everyone, I applied for a two week visit visa for my mum and niece who lives with her. Also fully sponsored them. My mum's visa was approved while my niece's was denied with the refusal letter attached within. I'd appreciate your ideas on how best to address this. They were supposed to stay with my sister and her husband for the duration of their stay. Can the accomodation plans be changed?
quote author=SoarNaija post=130074766]Omo that's how i got this life-changing email yesterday. Nairaland and this video practically changed my life. About two months ago, I saw a link to this video about the UK Global Talent tier one visa on Nairaland. I took my time to watch it and long story short, I received my endorsement for the visa yesterday morning, despite my very little experience in tech. All you need is some experience working in a tech startup, and you can even plan towards it if you're not in tech at the moment.
Here the video link and it has the direct application links etc in its description as well
I love Naija but it's goodbye for now, let me go get my life in other, even though I'll visit from time to time. If you're in tech and applying, feel free to drop any qestions, after watching this video and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge as my goodwill
Welcome to the new dispensation! Just can't keep calm mehn!!
Permit me to ask some questions as a form of guide: Was this your 3rd or 4th UK Visa? Any other valid visa in your passport? How much was your total POF (both savings and salary accounts)? How much for the visa application fee?
Congratulations once more!!

Do you mind sharing your interview transcript as a guide?
quote author=flavann post=129691014] I was at the embassy last week Thursday for interview, and the consular approved my Visa... this morning i login to my profile and i was told to schedule for another appointment for 221g, what could be the problem? after first interview and this is not drop box.
Last time I checked, this isn't anyone's daytime job. We should learn to exhibit some decorum. Dear poster, this spirit of entitlement you've just displayed, ko le werk!
quote author=JaySterling post=129677961] I don’t care! I asked her a honest question and she was very rude with her response and didn’t even respond or tell me what to do. So it’s better she packs her load and leaves the forum. Let someone else who is ready to respond to all queries take the job.
For Lagos, the next available date is in October 2024.
Hope this helps.
quote author=Eddykurrent post=129655382]I want to renew my B1/B2 Visa via Interview Waiver. Please what's the earliest date for passport submission in Abuja and Lagos?
{quote author=lionlee216 post=129521206]My friend was denied a UK Visa, He submitted both his personal account and business accounts(He has two businesses) and i am suprised the ECO saying his account within 5 months showed 8 times his annual income. Its a business account for God Sake, is he supposed to be running at loss and his bank account remains stagnant?
I am trying to renew my B1/B2 visa via dropbox option. But the appointment dates I am seeing are as far as Sep 2024. Are dropbox appointments (to drop off documents) usually that far, or have I done something wrong. I cant get any phone number to call US consulate to even talk to customer care.
Did you spend a long period on your last trip to the States? Or was your visa used for child birth?
Just curious to know why you were asked to schedule a follow up appointment.
All the best in your interview!
iyanuakin: Good morning Gurus, so I applied for IW in Feb which I was refused but was scheduled for follow up interview My interview comes up in April 26, my initial plan was to go last month for 2 weeks break, My circumstance has changed as I got promoted last month too with increased salary and also time to travel has changed too
Can I fill another DS160 to update my status before the date or I’m not allowed to change anything? Thanks
If I understand you correctly, this will be her 4th refusal. Maybe you guys should take a break from reapplying for now, whilst building her travel history. That should count for something.
The bank statement is not low. In fact, the statement showed that she has 1.3m as closing balance and she had a total of 170k as credit from her sons during the one month period. She only intend to spend 50k
My fear was that the ECO dwelled on the previous refusal despite saying this new one is reviewed based on it own merit.
Now, I am not sure what do. Is it advisable to apply as soon as possible.
Note: she’s had 3 refusal based on different reasons which are corrected in subsequent application.
Compu001: Hi guys, My mummy interview at the USA embassy is next week. Unfortunately i do not have the receipt for the pyment of the visa fee. But i have the MRV FEE PAYMENT. How can i go about this?
