TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by ladydelish(f): 2:56pm On Nov 05, 2021
Thank you so much

ritlala:
I called UK home office when we were in Nigeria, the lady advised we travel with it like and check if his brp has same error, then we can correct the brp instead because the one on passport is just a sticker and has an expiring date. We collected brp and saw same error, we were told to go online and use this link for correction using this link https://www.gov.uk/uk-residence-card/correct-mistakes.

Hi Ritlala, could you please work me through how the error on your husband’s dependent visa was resolved, I’ve tried sending an email but not sure it dropped. Thank you

ritlala:
Hello fam,

Please I am the main applicant and already in UK, but my dependents (children) are yet to join me. Please I want to know if my husband who is a dependent can use his account statement to apply for the kids visa. Note that he is also in UK with me and we can not move the money out of his account to mine because of some issues with my own account.

How does this work please? I studied Physiology

omopapa:
Guys, if there’s anyone here that studied Biochemistry, microbiology or any biological science related courses and looking at coming to the UK to further their studies, I’d advise they complete a topup module to upgrade their BSc to uk standard. Do a 5 weeks additional training and start applying for jobs. I think it’s quicker and cheaper than the MSc route in the long run.

For those coming into the uk newly, I made a mistake that almost cost me a good job I got just few weeks after I got here.
It wasn't really a mistake because I didn't know it was compulsory.

Once you are out of quarantine and your visa says you can work, start processing you NI number. (if it didn't come with your brp card)

I'm on tier 4 dependent visa. The company almost reversed their offer letter when I could not provide my NI. God intervened and I’m starting on Monday.

In the other news, I have naira in exchange for pounds if anyone interested.

God bless you

During the last lockdown, flights still came into the UK and BoJo's announcement today didn't touch on flights so it should hopefully be the same except Nigeria closes its airspace.
Also schools are open so I don't see students being turned back at UK airports, tourists, maybe but not students.

Will flights still be on during the lockdown if there will be any?

Thank you. This was really helpful

TheGuyFromHR:
I hear there's a TLS app. Android and iOs. Download and use it.
Or go back to the confirmatory email from UKVI received when you filled the online application (the one which contains your full name). Open it, log back into your Gov.UK page, then click the green boxes as if you wanted to book an appointment with TLS all over again. The last green box is "Provide biometrics...". When you click that it takes you to the TLS website and you'll see the options there "Amend", "Track", etc.
