Phones / Re: Tecno Is Winning The Smartphone War In Nigeria by Laenec: 8:46pm On Jun 04, 2013
Talking of utilizing minimal resources to achieve optimal output, Tecno has a point.

Think of a 12,000 naira dual-sim-phone having android facilities with wireless hotspot capability, them you know they are technically winning a war.

Samsung,HTC,RIM,Apple Huawei still on the high profile in durability and repute but i think Tecno is stealing heart of consumers away.

It seems we should let time tell.

This happens when they are bent on 'dying in power'.

his posture of sleep passes a great message of adamance in power while inner strength has expired.

Politics / Re: Policemen Attack Maiduguri Hospital, Shoot Doctor, Beat-Up Medical Staff by Laenec: 11:28am On May 10, 2013
Many people that posted comment against the civilians don't understand what hospital management protocol is all about.

If I may ask...
If you were called to the morgue come to pick up the corpse of your relative (God forbid) to allow a police corpse in, how would you feel?

These are the same set of people that will insist health workers should treat patients equally without bias in respect to their oath.

Our police should be trained how to be SANE under pressure and crisis.
My heart goes out to the policemen who lost their lives and wish the shot doctor quick recovery.
It won't surprise me that the doctor that was shot doesn't eventually have anything to do with the morgue.
Unfortunate cascade of events

Computers / Re: Bill Gates Condemns iPad, Says Lots Of Users Are Frustrated" by Laenec: 5:03pm On May 08, 2013
I think its all about what you need and do with those devices.
I have used laptops, desktops but obviously not apple ipad.
With my samsung galaxy note, i read, draw and paint, watch movies, play music, edit pictures, read my textbooks and jot on it simultaneously(with sensitive stylus),do video recordings, type and edit on ppt and word documents, etc.
Do many things without risk of heat to my groin(laptop)
Portable and light (yea, snatchable too..lol)
And for me...BATTERY LIFE is highly needed.
I believe the Pros are more than the Cons.
Hope this sounds useful to anyone planning to chose any of them.
Bill gates has points but not absolute(my tots.
Computers / What's The Best Wi-fi Device For Tablets In Nigeria. by Laenec: 7:55pm On Mar 25, 2013
Hi all,

Please could you help out in giving options for the best wi-fi pocket modem to use in Nigeria. MTN, Glo, multilinks or better still; any possibility using universal wifi pocket modem and include there costs.

Moreover does the hotspot feature on BBs with 7.1 OS work in the country?
Your response(s) will be well appreciated.
Thanks.

Politics / Re: Reasons Why "My Oga At The Top" Jokes Must Stop. by Laenec: 10:41pm On Mar 15, 2013
“My Oga at the top”- My own observations, lessons and summary.
1. I have learnt not to be arrogant in ignorance but be humble or package my ignorance better if no escape route.
2. Let’s just pray that our errors don’t get amplified and go viral- the man was just unfortunate.
(as Nigerians, u will be surprised that a lot of those casting stones can’t recite the 2nd stanza of the national anthem- we all have our pockets of ignorance, though they vary in sizes) I think Beyonce made a blunder in US Anthem during the opening of the Super Bowl years ago (NOT SURE anyway)

3. I have learnt to be vast, competent and well informed in my job jurisdiction and responsibilities entrusted onto me.
4. Nigerians are no longer interested in mediocrity in leadership. His blunder exacerbated what we have witnessed in the recent past. I belong to this category
5. A lot of people are tensed up and need to liven up. (that really, was a booster for cartoon and comedy series)
6. There are a lot of competent and creative but unemployed Nigerians out there looking for substrate to explode if given the opportunity- I saw the T-shirts and graffiti
7. Both parties speaking for and against his cancerous blunder have points. But if both placed on a fulcrum, I perceive it’ll shift to the side those against. It is actually a true reflection of what’s happening in some vital sectors in the country

On a lighter note; (a true life scenario today on a paediatric ward)

Doctor: How was your child’s health last night? From my assessment this morning, I thing he is doing well.
Patient’s mother: Good! So, are you discharging him home today? (Delighted)
Doctor: Well, I wouldn’t want to say so, because I could say yes now and my oga at the top voice something contrary later.(lol)

Summary- I think we should just free the man and focus on building ourselves for competency in future and always work on strategy to assign competent leaders wherever we find ourselves.
See you …AT THE TOP
