Health / Re: current hot weather in Nigeria: share your frustration by lafakale(m): 8:40pm On Feb 20, 2016
Late last week it was cold in abejukolo, kogi state. Early this week, the weather turned hell on earth. The hilly part of the town I'm living is a little bit better than the main town that lay on the valley. When fulani herdsmen invaded Obakume, a suburb, with the aim to annihilate the inhabitants. I have to fled into safety in the heart of the town. But when heat want to send me to where I'm afraid fulani would send me, i returned back to my house awaiting an easy way to die through fulani rather than agonizing death from heat.

hmmm really u are a farmer, no knowledge is wasted with 20 yrs of farming experience that's great.
Yeah. No knowledge is a waste as an acquired knowledge can be a driver channeling your path to a higher pedestal of life. When I was fully into farming, I tought it to be suffering of highest order but after schooling and runnel of fruitless efforts searching for job, I discover why farmers always have rest and peace of mind: work is always available and sheer freedom accompany it.

lesgupnigeria, I have read your other posts on plantain. It is interesting to know that something worthwile is happening here. I have been pregnant with idea of going back to my father's land to start farming after I have swore I won't till land before I eat again in life. I was contemplating to cultivate plantain and cassava. Luckily I stumble on this thread. My land is located at Igbo-Iga inbetween Sunwa and Ijaka-Isale in Yewa North, Ogun State. As that place is closer to Owode-Ketu and Igbogila you mentioned are being ravaged by disease, what is the risk of bunchies disease in my location? What advice you have for me on the marketability of both plantain and cassava from that zone? Can you deliver your improved suckers at discount when buying in bulk to my location. I've had more than 20 years of farming experience though.

Travel / Re: Top 10 Lagos Slangs You Must Know As A Resident by lafakale(m): 2:06pm On Aug 14, 2015
dancok:
This slangs is for some residents who live in a ghetto or an average citizen resident, guys living at banana island or vgc maynot familiar with these.

The slangs are not to the exclusive of anyone as far as you live, move around and use the highways in Lagos. The slangs are what a resident must arm himself with irrespective of your status. It is not necessary you should use them but your understanding their meaning can save you a lot of headache and untoward pain.
Wo egbe e for example mean literally to look at your side. This can mean be careful the way you drive your car or that you can endanger yourself by remain in that same position standing by the roadside. Now tell me, who is that a banana islander who want his car bashed, his side mirror broken or his leg bruised because he failed to learn a slang he considered derogatory to his status? If you're in Lagos, you must be lasgidi!

BOKO HARAM does not deserve negotiating with. If actually they are on the run as FG make us believe, let them keep running and our military keep pursuing them until they are totally crushed.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: All Third Class, Pass Graduates Should Read This! by lafakale(m): 11:19am On Nov 07, 2012
The Nigerian economy does not have respect for grades, it only pay attention to connection. So if you are low academically, you can get six-figure salary as far as you are connected. My advice is that you dont be cowed down by your grades, be bold and get out of mediocrity. The sky cannot be your limit!
