in as much as I support fight against corruption, less time should be allocated to it! fight against venality is not the only issue affecting our dear country. inflation-----economic recession; and security-------bokoharam, nda, herdmen are the momentous!

No economic magic will stop the inflation, none at all, the reason is simple, oil prices. Check out countries like Angola, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Google how their economy is fairing, Saudi Arabia is far better because they have a reserver of over 300bn dollars .

We import almost everything, when dollars was more than $100 per barrel, we were receiving so much dollars, price of dollars was down because we had so much of it but oil is $40 dollars per barrel, and coupled with militancy, we are not generating enough dollar revenue, which means dollars is scares, which means price of dollars go up which means price of imported commodities go up.

Short time solution, militancy stop their activities, and we sell our oil, hope for a big miracle that oil prices go up again.
The talk about diversification is to export more and import less which will take years to achieve.

Truth is, we have messed up as a country, disadvantage of oil dependent nation.

I know most of us rejoiced when telco giant GLO releaseD their new data plans. As a heavy user of data, I quickly subscribed for the 10gb plan that goes for 2500 even though I sensed there is going to b a foul pay with the package. After some hours I discovered the rate at which they zap is very high.

So yesterday, I tried to check the real cost of their data by downloading a video file of 303mb. After the download was completed, I checked my data balance, and was shocked that they have deducted 609mb(double) for a file of 303mb. Pathetic!

So before you sub to glo data, knw that 10gb is actually 5gb and the 6gb is only 3gb. This mischievous act should be condemned and I wish NCC and Lalasticlala can do something about it.

I believe you, I don't use glo but airtel but noticed same thing today, I subscribed for 3.5gb and I was shocked after a week it waswas gone. So today I subscribe for 12gb, i have an app that helps me monitor phone data consumption, the app says I have consumed 70mb, I checked my data balance, close to 140mb was deducted.

I checked airtel website, to be fair, they Said from 6am to 10pm data rate is 2kobo per kb while from 10pm to 6 am the data rate is 1kobo per 1kb. My guess is, from 10pm, normal data rate consumption.

It clearly shows this telecoms are not really giving cheap data as they want us to believe.

CBN won't be selling dollars to any bank at a fixed rate anymore, and it's only occasionally CBN will enter the market to sell dollars to anybody.
With the floating policy, CBN won't be meeting anybody demand, CBN hand no dey, just occasionally when needs arise.

The BDC and banks are now one and the same thing, what you gonna have is BDC and and banks selling and buying dollars at their own.

The good thing is the woman selling garri in the market won't increase her price claiming dollars don increase.

I've been against floating of the naira because of greed bankers but over time I see that the fixed rate didn't eliminate that greed, rather it created cheap millionaires over night, one person goes to CBN and buys dollars for 199 naira, quickly goes to BDC sells it for 290 naira, almost 100% profit for doing nothing, with the new policy, no such thing.

If you hear how bankers make money selling dollars eh, the people who need the dollars don't get it official rate so whats the point of having an official rate of 199 naira.

Dangote will be getting cheap dollars at 199 naira per dollars while students who need to pay school fees or those with medical needs abroad get it at 320 naira per dollar.

Oil prices are down, revenue are down, reserve is running down trying to defend the naira for the common man but this common man still get it at an expensive rate, nothing is being achieved with fixed policy save making few people richer for doing nothing,.
