Fashion / Satin Bonnets, The Lady’s New Hair Trend by Lagospost: 1:26pm On Jan 09, 2020
There are has been different sense of fashion from generation to generations. Each decades also tends to have its own fashion trend. No one can tell what’ tomorrow’s fashion trends would look like because it’s an ever changing world.

To me, anything you put-on that makes you comfortable can be called fashion. It does not necessary how much it is.

For many decades, net caps or shower caps has been what women put on whenever they want to bath or wants to go to bed most especially at night. Nobody could ever thought shower caps or net caps will now become something of fashion today and people can be comfortable wear it around just like hair wigs that was known before.

Satin bonnets has been trending in Nigeria since late last year. People are wearing it just like hair wigs.

Nairaland / General / Sanwo-olu Leads Walk Against Domestic, Sexual Violence by Lagospost: 4:42pm On Nov 26, 2019
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has promised to wield "the big stick" on perpetrators of rape, domestic violence and child abuse in the state.
He added that the state will support the police and the judiciary to ensure the crime is brought to the barest minimum.

He gave this warning on Tuesday in his address to Lagosians after the "Walk To Commit and Act" rally organised by Lagos State Government through the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) of the Ministry of Justice to further drive home his message against the menace.

Sanwo-Olu, who said the government is commemorating the day in line with United Nations declaration against gender-based violence added that the State is working hard with its police command and all relevant agencies to bring the crime to zero point.

The Governor emphatically warned that no offender would go unpunished, saying that rape, domestic violence and child abuse are crimes and must be treated as such.

Agriculture / Getting Women In The Driver’s Seat Of Africa’s Agribusiness Revolution by Lagospost: 3:03pm On Nov 25, 2019
ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast. Monica Musonda, CEO of Zambian food processing company Java Foods (https://Java-Foods.com/), certainly faced hurdles in her rise to the top, but she overcame them.

“Although the barriers to entry for women can be frustrating, they are often basic and relatively easy to resolve,” she said, playing down her struggles. “My climb up the agribusiness ladder has been challenging but definitely worthwhile.”

Musonda, whose company produces affordable and nutritious food snacks made from local ingredients, is one of just a handful of female agripreneurs who have successfully broken through the proverbial glass ceiling in Africa’s agribusiness (https:///2QJrnjY) industry.

Women are the backbone of Africa’s agricultural sector. From farm to fork, African women are players along the entire agricultural value chain, be it as farmers, livestock breeders, processors, traders, workers, entrepreneurs or consumers. While their influence on the continent’s growing agribusiness industry is undeniable, more solutions are needed to address the gender-specific challenges they face to boost their participation.

The average African woman is a budding entrepreneur either by choice or by circumstance. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Women’s Report 2016/17 (https:///2KRkpWt), the continent has the highest percentage of female entrepreneurs in the world, with one in four women starting or managing a business. The agribusiness industry is often the natural focus of this entrepreneurial drive.

Across the continent, women dominate as primary processors post-harvest, as traders with bustling market stalls, as owners of fast food restaurants and with increasingly frequency as manufacturers of packaged ready-to-eat food products. Yet despite this dynamism, female-led agribusinesses tend to remain small, fragmented and informal in nature. They struggle to sustain and scale-up their agribusinesses into well-organized profitable enterprises.
