Please how can I withdraw my Canadian student visa application.

I now know my PFL has been sorted but I am already going to the UK so I don't want to do again.

Besides my LOA is now invalid, I missed the resumption and I didn't pay a tuition deposit. Abeg how can I withdraw and say I don't want again? Help me before they reject my application due to invalid LOA.

Hello my web form request is about 3 months.

My application started April 2021.

I am distraught.

I have already started UK application but I don't know how to resolve this Canada issue.

Please can I email you?

I will follow you so that I can reach you offline.

Thank you in anticipation of your help.

Gigdraft:
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR VISA IS UNDUELY DELAYED

I have noticed multiple complaints on this platform about the inordinate processing period for study permit applications. I empathize and could relate with the anxiousness, agita, distress, and uneasiness that are behind these complaints.

Therefore, to bring relief and enlightenment, I have decided to offer insight on the right decision to take when your application is delayed. I love to say little but in my little, you will find a walloping fragment of sense. Hence, I will keep this write-up to the shortest length.

What do you do when you experience an undue visa delay?

1. Raise a Customer Service Enquiry (CSE) Via the IRCC Webform Medium
The webform is the most efficient and quickest channel of reaching the Canada Immigration Department to process your application. This medium was specially designed to make application tracking easier. Thus, it is the mama that you run to when your application exceeds the current processing duration.

PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO RAISE A CUSTOMER SERVICE ENQUIRY:
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=Nairobi&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

The process is simple and illustrative.

2. Send an Email to the Department Processing Your Application
Before you do this, ensure you have waited for 5 working days. If there is no response, then please go ahead and send them an email. As far as Nigerian applicants are concerned, most applications are processed at the Nairobi Office, so here is an email address that you should employ: nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca

3. Contact a Member of Parliament (MP)
Once you have completed Step 1 and Step 2 and yet there is no change in your application, then you should create a friendship with patience for an additional 2 weeks. If after that, there is still no update of any kind, then you can write a Member of Parliament (MP) within the jurisdiction of your proposed institution. The office of the MP has unrestrained access to the Home Office, Home Secretary, and Immigration Minister. Such an office is equipped enough to raise an inquiry on your case, and you know what that could do to your application.

I must caution you to be as polite as possible while doing this. Your issue is with the IRCC and not the MP

4. Hire an Immigration Lawyer
Note: before you resort to this option, you must have ordered your GCMS note to ascertain what is causing the delay. If the GCMS note does not help, then instruct your lawyer to submit a Formal Request Letter on your behalf. Trust me, this has always worked. But, if it doesn’t you have the last option.

5. Request an Order of Mandamus from a Federal High Court
This is an option I can only recommend to people whose applications have lasted for more than a year. When you obtain a writ of mandamus, the IRCC officials would have no choice but to prioritize the decision on your application. So far so good, I have not seen any mandamus that wasn’t honored within 60 days. But, as I earlier stated, make it your last resort.

I have spared precious time to compose this for your enlightenment, and I hope it helps someone out there.

Quote me when you have your PPR because it shall surely come!

Hello all,

Just to appreciate all the insightful comments shared by all on this forum, they have been helpful. I have a question and I would be glad to have an answer.
I have already got an admission for a-year MBA course in one of the Canadian universities and im looking for starting my course September 2023. However, I am currently in the UK on dependent visa where my wife is studying for her Masters and have been here since December 202. At the moment I am working in one of the top 3 banks (high street banks) in the UK. However, i plan to apply for a Canada study permit along with my family early in 2023 here in the UK. My question is, do I still need to prove home ties and if yes, HOW? Please bear in mind that i dont have any properties, companies or job in Nigeria at this time. My career progression has been around product development and customer engagement as well as in conjunction to my MBA specialty pursuit.
I would really appreciate honest feedback as per how to progress.

Thanks

What would you advise seeing as gcms takes over a month to respond and my UK school resumes in January?

Should I request the notes while I move on to the UK? If yes, do I have to mention it in my application and how?

Or I should not apply to the UK till I get the notes

johnstan:

Aii. I have seen someone here with SOP of one page, I think its the thread before this current thread and he was approved while someone with SOP of 5 pages with several hyperlinks init got rejected so the length isn't a determinant but the content.
I'm not certain the content of yours but if you are confident that it was not compelling then I'm sure you must be right about that.

Someone here too have gotten PPR without paying tuition deposits, if I remember, they explained that it was not compulsory by the school to do that, so not paying though a risky move is not a certain refusal determinant - they showed good POF tho.
Some days ago someone got PPR with a fixed deposit account as POF.

In the previous thread a 45yrs old individual got PPR at the second attempt so you can imagine the length of study gap there.

In all its your SOP that can make or break the application and you are certain you did not do a good job with it.

In the previous thread ( I'm mentioning this a lot cos that's where I joined and migrated to this current thread) someone had a long processing time like yours, orderd his gcms notes only to realise that he had been refused several months before his request for his notes so request for yours and be certain of the situation before you act (withdraw the application).

You are also right, you will need a dollar card to order the notes not a naira card.

Good luck
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Lamika24: 1:41pm On Nov 22, 2022
Yes, I did.

I told a version of the truth and how the CBN had a policy that made us unable to use our naira cards for foreign payments.

So I was forced to contract the payment to someone else.

And when the first recall happened, I trusted that it was a bank glitch and I found out later of his dubiousness.

And I have since had to get a premium card which costed me about 90k to pay the money myself.

I also mentioned the emotional and health pressure it has put on me and my family. (To be fair, my mum had HBP, call me a bad daughter for capitalizing on it for my application but I had to say everything to gather empathy)

I told them how I am a law-abiding citizen and I had a police good character report and I would never violate the law.

Things like that sha.

I wrote it but in legal terms sha. I did not mention that I used an agent for my application because in my application, I didn't mention that I used an agent when I was asked.

Anon123:

Did you include an explanation along with evidence of payment you made yourself?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Lamika24: 1:06pm On Nov 22, 2022
Debt to the crown becuase the agent recalled my visa fees. I paid it myself later though.

But application has been pending since then.

House please I need help,

I have a pending Canada student visa for a bachelor's program. I applied since April last year but I used Vin education agent. Avoid him.

He called my visa fees and I got PFL twice so I paid myself in December last year. But till then, no response from the IRCC. I am thinking of withdrawing the application altogether.

Please advise on what to do

Has anyone faced this before?

Hello Frank,

I am still trying to navigate my way around this platform.

I am replying a message that is not mine because I do not know how else to reach you.

I have a 18 months pending student visa. It occurred because my agent recalled my fees twice till I paid myself in December last year.

I have not heard back from IRCC and I am applying for my UK visa in December because I already paid tuition.

Do you think I should withdraw my application? Will the UK ask me about it? Or should I leave it pending knowing that nobody is attending to it.

I look forward to your response.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Lamika24: 9:57am On Nov 22, 2022
I tried to order the GCMS notes, but I could not pay with my naira card. I only heard about the GCMS notes in July anyway. By then, I had gotten admission to the UK and was already nursing that.
If I am being totally honest, from what I have seen in these chats, I don't think my SOP was compelling enough. It was barely 1 page long, but I just discovered on this group after I had applied that people had 8 pages long SOPs. I had not paid the tuition deposit, and my POF was not so bulky. It was about 10 million then in my mum's account. Also, I was applying for a bachelor's degree with a 10 years study gap, I explained though. The explanation sef no carry weight.

So, all in all, it wasn't my best foot forward. I don't want them to deny me the visa and have rejection on my records.

I don't know what more good can come out of the application anymore, that is why I am opting to withdraw it.

And you are right. No one is processing a visa from a year and half ago. It has definitely been abandoned.

johnstan:

The processing time for Canadian study permit is not for the faint hearted or for someone who is working tightly with time as it can take a toll on the individual's mental health.

Your application is over a year and i am surprised you did not order your GCMS notes or have you done that already? that would let you know if your application is still being processed or not instead of drawing conclusion if you know what i mean.

Asking for previous visa rejections usually is an information you provide at the point or application and not after application (it is important).
Again your application is roughly 19 months (76 weeks) as against the 12/13 weeks processing time on IRCCC and its almost/nearly impossible that it is still being processed. However, as I mentioned above you should order your notes to be certain.

The withdrawal of your application option is available once you login to your portal, its a one click option and the application withdrawal notification email will be sent to you once it is processed successfully.

House please I need help.

Dear Gurus, ema wo mi niran.

I applied for Canadian Student Visa in April 2021.

I used an agent and got PFL because he recalled the fees twice.

So I paid the money myself in December.

Since then I have not heard from IRCC. I have submitted web form too.

Anyway, I am moving on with the UK. I don pay deposit sef. My CAS will be out on Thursday.

I am planning on withdrawing my Canada application.

Would you suggest I do that or I leave it running?

Also, when they ask me if I have ever had a visa rejected before, what will I say?

Keep in mind that UK and Canada share immigration information.

Also, how do I withdraw and application? Who can point me in the right direction? My pof will mature the first week in december.
Romance / Re: See What My Mum Want To Do To Me by Lamika24: 7:21pm On Oct 08, 2022
Dear writer,

I will highlight some of the options available to you from what I can deduce from your texts.

1. Getting your first job is the most likely way your 3rd class matters. At least I can speak for Nigeria as far as I know. I have worked for 7 years and have not gotten a job or missed an opportunity based on my certificate. Your ability to get a job is not tied to your degree alone. Be ready to start small. I, like many people, started my career from the absolute bottom. What matters most is your ability to climb faster. I know people who started working before me with better grades and qualifications, and I currently earn more than them and hold a higher position than them.
So, you can be rest assured that if your degree is going to matter, it is because you are applying for a graduate trainee position as you start out. But there are many alternatives to working in a bank, oil and gas, or the big 4. Also, like you, my first degree is from the faculty of arts, and it is not even English Literature or mass comm. So your course is not limiting. Only your drive, grit, and resolve can limit you from making something of your life.

Alternatively, you can start your own business. And I can also assume you can afford to start a business because you are talking about doing a master's, which usually doesn't come cheap, especially in the UK. This brings me to my last thoughts. You can learn a traditional skill or digital skill. I worked in tech with my arts background.

You can still do your Msc or MA even with a third class. Most schools require a minimum of 2:2, but you can do a post-graduate diploma first to better your chances.

I wish you all the best.

You can respectfully send them mails and Webform pointing out that nothing has changed on your profile for 3 months. But please note that most times they work on the background without it showing.

You can also go for Medicals (upfront) to save you time instead of waiting for request.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. I have the money to start the UK visa process. I don't want them to use that as grounds to deny me because I know that UK and Canada share immigration details.
I don tire for these Canada people since April last year when I started. Admission sef don expire for my hand. However, I have not paid school fees, and the school said I can't defer. I was applying for a bachelor's degree before. I will just go to Uk for my master's instead.

Frankielilbaby:

If you have money to start the UK Visa process it will not affect your Canadian application. If a decision is made on your Canada application, all you have to do is let the UK government know with proof that you already started your UK Visa process before the decision that way they will understand you were not trying to hide and thing from them.

It was a debt to the crown. I have paid it myself without the agent though. God will surely punish the agent that got me to this point. I paid the first PFL one through the agent. The second one, I paid it myself on December 31 till now no feedback on my application.
I am even trying to move on to the UK. But I don't know if that will affect my UK visa application. I don't know if I should withdraw the canada application altogether pr I should leave it pending. What was your own experience and how did it get resolved?

Hello House Gurus,

I need help.

I applied for a student visa and did my biometrics on April 29.

But I got a mail that I was owing the crown in August so I paid $230.

My issue is my school admission last intake is this September and my visa is not yet out.

What should I do?

Should I reapply to the school and update my IRICC application or should I just wait hoping that the VO has already confirmed the validity of the admission before now and the VIsa will be out soon?

Please house this is urgent, what can I do?
