Getafe willing to sell striker to Barca

Getafe president Angel Torres admits he's open to selling striker Angel Rodriguez if Barcelona do show interest after recent rumours of a possible move to Camp Nou.

"It's not a clause problem. I can't deny a team so big that a guy who has given us spectacular performance," he told Catalunya Radio via Marca.

"It's €10 million [the release clause]."

The 32-year-old has scored nine goals in La Liga this season and has been with Getafe since 2017.

LaMujer:
Barcelona have ruled out signing Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose as a replacement for the injured Ousmane Dembele.

The decision was taken on Wednesday by Barcelona due to the fee that La Real were demanding, which was between 30 and 35 million euros, as they were unable to reduce this figure.

The Basque side are currently focused on the Copa del Rey semi-finals as they will welcome Mirandes to the Reale Arena on Thursday night, so they do not want to lose any players as they look to lift the trophy whilst also keeping pace with those in LaLiga Santander in the race for Champions League football.

"I think he's going to stay with us, unless they come up with the 70 million [euro release clause]," head coach Imanol Alguacil said. In view of the difficulties of bringing Willian Jose to the club, Barcelona will now focus on other targets.

BascoVanVeli:
Of course he has no experience but I have proven that experience talk as BS. Even after sleeping on it I still say Joseph Yobo will be a super hit with the super eagles. This just made Rohr's job 10 times easier. Most of our players look up to Yobo, ffs he has the most caps in history. When he speaks they will listen because he can relate to all of them. If I am Iwobi I am running there to ask him questions about Everton and if I am Ajayi I want to know what to expect in the EPL from a guy who played almost a decade there. This hire doesn't only replace Imama it replaces Mikel because they now have a big brother them.

On the pitch he will improve our defenders immensely. Joseph Yobo doesn't need coaching school to tell you that you are in a wrong position as a defender or give you tricks of the trade. I personally believe he has a coaching certificate, not because I am believing that the NFF wouldn't hire someone without qualification but because I don't think Yobo is the type of person that would accept something like that without following due process. He didn't take short cuts as a player so is it now he will start
i don't think anyone is arguing this. The argument is not whether or not he will be a blast, but that, on merit he didn't deserve the job.

ON MERIT

Haaland is not better than osimhen

I stand on my words

You guys are so obsessed with white players

Haaland has done nothing much in football
we guys?

Andrew, chill abeg. Never in my life, ever, have i ever supported anything white, not when something African is in contention. So please, don't rope me into "you guys" biko.

I only made an observation. Earlier in the season, all eyes were out on both Victor and Tamaraebi, most especially, after Tammy dumped us. Now, we have moved to Haaland and Osimhen......simply what i stated. i didn't even compare them both.

Biko, brother, take am easy

Ndidi: My understanding of football is much better under Leicester City boss Rodgers

Wilfred Ndidi admitted he has a better understanding of the game under Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers.

The defensive midfielder has made much progress since the arrival of the former Celtic and Liverpool boss, helping the Foxes win more possession with his timely tackles and interceptions while his passing accuracy has greatly improved.

The Nigeria international admitted the Northern Irish tactician has made much of an impact on his career than his previous managers and hopes to continue his development.

“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, what I know now, if I’d have known it when I was growing up, I’d have been a better player. I’m grateful to the manager for everything he’s installed in us,” he told Leicester Mercury.

“My understanding of the game is much better now. I see the game differently to what I used to. I learned from other managers as well so no disrespect to them, but this manager has made me understand more about the game, like the space available on the pitch.

“I feel like I’ve really improved since I first joined Leicester. [Rodgers has given me] the belief and understanding. That makes it easier when you find yourself in situations on the pitch.

“When I came to Leicester, I didn’t have much of the ball but now I find myself in situations where I have more time with the ball. That comes from the teaching and the understanding that the manager has given us.

“He’s made me understand the role I play and now it’s a case of developing from there.”

Ndidi is combining playing football with studying business and tourism management at De Montfort University.

“It’s going well. I did my practical essay recently so I’m just waiting,” he continued.

“I always wanted to study and now I can because I have more time after training. I just want to develop myself away from football. I usually have two lessons a week and I enjoy it.”

Ndidi has made 26 appearances across all competitions this season, helping the Foxes climb to third in the Premier League table.

The former Genk midfielder will hope to play a key role when Leicester square off against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their next league game on Friday.

Frenkie de Jong showed that he can get forward and get his name on the scoresheet during Barcelona's 3-2 win away at Real Betis on Sunday night, but the midfielder's former coach at Ajax, Erik ten Hag, is not in favour of this new role for the 22-year-old.

Instead, Ten Hag argues that De Jong's qualities are best exploited by having him orchestrate things from deep. "He's not a goalscorer," Ten Hag explained on the Dutch TV show 'Rondo' on Ziggo Sport. "He's the player who supplies... who supplies the teammates who give the assists or who score goals from their position.

"Ten Hag recalled the importance of the midfielder at Ajax and explained that he had to be reprimanded once for going too far up the pitch."Once I got him out of there," he said in relation to substituting De Jong. "I asked him: are you a No.10? Then when do you score goals?"

Matthijs de Ligt also departed the Johan Cruyff Arena in the summer as he joined Juventus, with the coach stating that he still keeps in touch with the centre-back and De Jong, although he notes that he wishes he could've kept hold of them both.

Something is happening with Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid future.

We don't know if he's nearing his end at the club just yet, but after almost a decade on the bench for Los Rojiblancos, there are signs that those unwanted handshakes and messages of 'thanks for everything' are on their way.
Paco Buio told El Chiringuito on Monday that a meeting took place at a Madrid hotel involving Unai Emery and some figures closely associated with Atletico. That meeting itself didn't sound the alarms for the simple reason that they've already been ringing.

Earlier on Tuesday, Nacho Palencia told El Golazo de la Trade about Mono Burgos' relationship with Simeone, and how he's planning his own coaching career. All signs point towards Burgos leaving in the summer and pursuing his own job in charge of a club.
As always, results, circumstances and the environment can change things.

The only ting that seems certain is that Atletico's eyes are only on Liverpool and trying to extend their European run. That tie will allow things to take shape for Cholo, and for now he continues to hold the keys to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

If Pique / Umtiti doesn't return before we face Getafe, then we should be expecting another big test for Setien from his selected starting lineup to the tactics.

I feel the likes of Rakitic, Busquets, Vidal & Frenkie will all have to start and I wouldn't be surprised to see at least two of these in the defense alongside Nelson Semedo.

Barcelona players lead in titlesThe Blaugrana players accumulate as many as 149 international titles among them compared to the 44 won by Real Madrid's squad.

For example, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Luis Suarez, who arrived in 2014, have the same number of league medals (four) as Sergio Ramos who joined Madrid in 2005 and Marcelo, who went to Los Blancos in January 2006.
