DeOTR: Absolute BS. Corruption cases should not sentence lighter than life imprisonment, and recovering of every penny stolen with interest, but here we are serving concurrent prison sentence to a complete thief. The 75 years is actually less than 10 according to this report. What's this for God sake? Read again, it is going to be served consecutively, and not concurrently. |

Do people even realise that this ship was seized around Venezuela as a result of the rising tension between US and Venezuela (a country with the highest proven oil reserve in the world). A country under sanction from the US for decades probably looking for ways to trade its sanctioned oil industry.
*hint: Trump currently wants regime change in Venezuela, hiding under excuse of fighting against importation of illicit drug. Mexico and Colombia export more drugs to the US, so why the focus on Venezuela? Your guess is as good as mine.
This has next to nothing to do with Nigeria other than disputable details for place of registration. |

Science/Technology › Re: What Is The Difference Between Evening & Night? by LanceO: 9:20pm On Jun 07, 2025 |
It seems clearer in the Yoruba language.
Ẹ kásán (good afternoon), Ẹ kúrọ̀lẹ́ (good evening), Ẹ kalẹ́ (good night, but in the Yoruba language, it is a greeting of contact and not farewell greeting like in English language), then Ó dàárọ̀ (until morning, serving the farewell greeting in Yoruba language as against the English "goodnight" greetings).
I guess in this regard, one could say the English language is limited when compared to our cultural language, or the English language seems limited because our expectations from it is rooted in our own culture.
So, you can not greet someone "good night" and still remain in their presence, and "good evening" can be used from 4:00pm to 11:59pm it seems. Also, one can greet "good night" from 4:00pm, provided you do not expect to see such person till the following day. |

Blinkers: Only violence can match violence. It's the only language bullies understand and back off from, immediately.
There is not much of a difference in physical strength when women are compared with men. The only things limiting women are their minds (social and psychological conditioning from birth) and the phenotypic expression of the hormone, Testosterone.
In fact, research proved that women have lower body strength than men, but the upper body strength from the shoulders to the lower groin give men a upper hand as it is the most visible.
You are almost as strong as a man. The obstacle is in your mind.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you should go fight a man and get your face pummeled! Lol. The greatest advantage men have had over women is that they have been conditioned into expressing themselves physically with some level of aggression being tolerated with terms like "they are just boys". Women are conditioned from their childhood as girls to be the opposite: Docile and Gentle. In a way, it's good for the balance of characters in the specie. If ladies were allowed such freedom of physical expression and violence as girls being raised with their fellow boys, these men would be no match for the women.
Check out wild cats like lionesses. They lead and inspire the hunt and lionesses with high level of violence raise successful cubs than their docile counterparts Aside your submission about men and women, your submission on a pride of Lion and Lionesses is also wrong. The Lion is the actual physical strength of the pride, the lionesses do the hunting just like women do the cooking. This does not connote they are stronger than the lion. If you know much about their strengths, you will know that when a bigger /stronger animal (prey) needs to be taken down, the lionesses need and require the strength of the lion... |

Couldn't this demonstration be done for them alone? Because to the best of my incomplete knowledge, such evil ingenuity shouldn't be for the public's consumption in a country where most people are going rouge.
In the hunger to show the press that they're working, they've shown millions of potential robbers and kidnappers how to conceal two AK47s.
SMH. You are right... That should have been another secret knowledge for the police, places they should search in suspected vehicles. They have also succeeded in showing other criminals where not to conceal weapons... |

PassingShot: Strike is not always the solution. It should ONLY be used where every attempt at resolving issues has FAILED.
NLC was wrong on this particular case. Negotiations were still ongoing and a deadlock had not been declared. After all, the triparte committee had even promised to reconvene before the strike action was embarked upon.
If any government has shown seriousness to the welfare of the Nigerian workers, it is this present FG.
This regime has approved and paid a lot of billions of naira it inherited from past governments (e.g, Nigerian Railways retirees, pensioners, 20 billion naira recently released for universities, etc.).
Lastly, NLC should not expect a minimum wage of N56k because not all states are even paying the current N18k minimum wage. I think N35 should be an ideal minimum wage (fyi, minimum wage is for entry level cleaner, driver, messenger, etc.) and each state should jerk it up as per their ability/resources. You sound smart while talking ignorantly. It doesn't still change the fact that you are ignorant on this particular issue. The Nigerian govt is never proactive, they always have to be pushed to do anything, if left alone will only address the issues pertaining to the elites alone. If the govt has a proper economic policies that is favorable and drops the inflation rate that has refused to abide by the law of gravity, then you might be right to say increasing minimum wage might not be necessary, but govt haven't and you are wrong. You also thought the minimum wage is 35,000 when it's still 18,000, and like you said 50,000 is the ideal for now, but to your ignorance, the NLC actually wants to get it to 45,000 from "18,000" it currently is. Please think collectively before making public utterances, or at least, know what you are saying before you speak in public... |

Is it me, or people don't think this questions are necessary, from all the comments so far.
I believe the op doesn't mean you sit your partner down with pencil and paper in a formal setting, it should come up in discussions of which both parties should answer, and it's not necessarily at once... For a serious minded relationship with perceived future, i think it's necessary, people shouldn't be afraid to ask questions. You should form some kind of relationship that you can talk about "almost" everything. The bane of any relationship is bad communication, and the pile of things that can not be discussed by each party...
In my little experience, non in marriage, i believe majority of issues the op listed should be discussed. |

hush15: Now tell me who gives greater sense of belonging. APC doing everything to chase members away if you down bow to them while PDP doing all it requires to protect one of their own to keep you even when they have the edge. There is a subtle message one can pick from this. PDP is more of a team player than APC anyday, anytime irrespective of the two parties craziness.... Is this what you think the country needs...? Parties enticing their greedy members with the nation's wealth whenever they threaten to leave...? Do you know what the country will sacrifice or have been sacrificing just to keep "aggrieved" party members? Now the senators decamped due to their personal interest and nothing more. I'm not a supporter of Buhari or the so-called main opposition (heck, i don't also want the man back) but, we must look at things objectively and make our inference... It will actually be easier and most likely better if Nigeria practices 2 party system, by so doing the politicians would seriously weigh their options before jumping, as they can only move from one party to just another one, and not the numerous other options, or form their own party. This will actually curtail their excesses and the real politics will be within the party. Note, the voting pattern of Nigerian political system is simply voting out the current bad, and not voting in the best option. This is as a result of not dividing the opposition votes in other to increase the chances of winning the incumbent (evident in the 2015 elections and the recent Ekiti state election). |

I'm only saying what i would do as a wife and a mother. Which doesn't needs predictions but mentality. What is so hard here now?
Isn't it what couples should do? Be emotionally supportive to one another? And as for the children, they should be carried along too?
I was stating mine as a challenge I must do cos I for one, knows what it feels like to be emotionally alone. And it makes me to relate more to my marital life.
So if you're thinking off point, you are on your own. You've actually done well with your posts, nd i like... In your first post however, there was something you said you will give your children that i believe you can't..."a good dad that will invest in them emotionally". You can only try your best as a mother and wife and hope, by faith the husband does the good "fathering" for your children. Overall, i like your opinion and mindset. With your father, i feel you should complete your "good mindset" by extending a positive one towards him... This plays a good role with your own marriage in the way you will see your husband...
