PrinceAdeAde: Hello All,
Thanks for the information and support. My journey ends here. Just some tips based on my wife second US birthing experience 1. You need two valid means of identifications(preferably driver's licence & international passport) to process and collect US docs(Birth certificate,US Passport). My wife licence expired before she traveled and she forgot this requirement so it was not as straightforward as her first experience. Alternatively, you can use work ID or any US resident to identify you.
2. Visa on Arrival is way cheaper and hassle free than it is made to look(the only cheaper option on the long run is if you are in atlanta and go for the baby nigerian passport). Just send a mail to oa@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng requesting for one using the format shared previously on the forum and you would be responded to early enough. in my case,I got a response the same day and please do it yourself and dont pay any processing money. You only need to pay the actual application fee to immigration which can be made on arrival($180 using card and $190 using cash though. Surprisingly,my wife mentioned they did not even look at any letter at Lagos Airport to give our baby the visa. Note that houston immigration requested to sight the actual email so you may want to keep your phone and email handy to avoid complications
Please can you send me a sample of the mail you send for the visa on arrival Thanks Lanifat@yahoo.com
Am always available on PM to assist with any further information.Good luck to all expecting mums and Dads. God Bless |

I and my husband got our visa in 2016 which was used for the intended purpose Honeymoon and vacation in December. I left Nigeria on the 28th of September at 31 weeks with BA, the flight from Lagos to Heathrow was so uncomfortable and their services wasn't so great.I got to Heathrow at 5.30am and had to check in for my connecting flight with American Airline to Dallas,Got to the booth and meet an agent.
AA Agent- Purpose of Visit to the USA Myself- Child birth & Vacation AA Agent- Whom would u be staying with Myself- Childhood friend AA Agent- When last did you see her Myself- 2005 but we keep in touch AA Agent - What does she do for a living? Myself- I work in bleep bleep and my clients are bleep bleep bleep AA Agent- Smiles* and said I should proceed to the shuttle to take me to Terminal 5 and my mobility assistance would be waiting for me there.
Got to the terminal gate and requested for a comfortable seat and got one that had nobody beside me, I had enough room to stretch , their services was top notch.Arrived at Dallas at 1pm and we were the first flight that landed got my wheel chair assistance,Got to the automated machine for B1 & B2 visa, proceeded to the CBP officer.
Myself- Hello and smiled CBP- He smiles back and hello too, he tried to pronounce my name started laughing,I had to pronounce my name the right way. CBP- Do you have any food with you Myself-Yes,plantain flour, peanuts, basil, pumpkin leaves and pepper soup spices.
He nooded and started gisitng with the lady that was assisting me,once they were done he was about to stamp me in without asking any further questions,I had to tell him I was here for Child birth and vacation ,he didn't notice I was pregnant and my tummy wasn't so big
CBP-How long are u here for? Myself- 3months and two weeks CBP-How much do you have on you ? Myself- $ 7000 CBP officer- Stamps me in on my passsport for 6 months (which i didnt see how long )and said I would have to get to agriculture.

I looked at my passport and asked the officer how long am I stamped in for and he joked for a day, I finally saw where i was stamped till March 2018.Proceeded to go and check into my local flight to Houston. ogemele: Well it takes a while for Dr stimage to respond. I think you have 2 options. 1. Call Brenda and confirm their position. 2. Walk in to the clinic and book an appointment since the clinic is not far from you. Best wishes. Thanks for your response . Have booked the appoitment with Brenda now God bless |
Hi.
can't access my nairaland email so anyone with questions just has to ask it here. You don't need an appointment to go to the hospital you need to understand that the hospital and the doctor's clinic are separate entities. you can go to the hospital as soon as possible and speak with a financial counsellor. They will give you a list of doctors who have admission priviledges there. A good number of the ob/gyn's have their clinics within the baylor complex so you can just visit them while there and find out their costs as well as if they will take you on depending on how far gone you are. you can then finalise with any one you choose and go back to the hospital to register.
All the best![/quote @temmyO . Thanks I understand . God bless with the info will go there today if possible . Have been chatting someone in dr stimage office because from your missionAry post and the Bills I got from her secretary not bad . Am grateful . Thanks once again |

Hello @bootyliciousHon Please when you travelled at 34 weeks with emirate , did you submit the fit to fly at their office days before or while you were checking in ? Thanks Because I called the customer care line and was told they are only bothered with fit to fly if you are traveling at 36 weeks and above . Just wanted to be sure o before they give me another story while checking in |

BootyliciousHon: If travelling at 34weeks i dont think you need the MEDIF form. The medical certificate will do. Or as in my case, get a fit to fly with the neccessary information as seen on Emirates website Thank you Please did u submit the fit to fly certificate at emirate office before your travel date or you just presented it on the day you were traveling ? Thank you |

debby516: I used Emirates to Houston at 35 weeks plus and had no issue. For the return journey, the layover is more than 8 hrs but there is a complimentary accomodation by emirates. While its a bit longer compared to some other airline like BA, its not entirely bad. On safety, it depends on how far gone u re and if u dont ve medical issues like swollen feet etc when u re on the same spot for a long time. Oh okay . Thanks for your response |
