life in the 80s was that of contentment, those saying it was boring because of lack of internet should realize you don't miss what does not exist .
The programmes on our national TV stations (NTA) kept us entertained- village headmaster, cock crow at dawn, mind your language, some mothers do have them by Frank Spencer, Love boat, Globe trotters, Alaadin, Bill Cosby show, Family matters etc

in education, both the children of the rich and the poor attend public schools with foreign teachers from different African countries, original textbooks from Macmillian, and same text use in best schools of the world from great authors- Stones &Cozen, Micheal West, Lambert, Harwood Clarke, Chinua Achebe, Lamb (books of Shakespeare)

On job opportunities, there were fewer graduates compare with available job, women with ordinary secretarial knowledge trained up children up to university level in this country. No graduate was unemployed for upward of six years as we have now.

the environment was better, lots of playground for children, fewer gates and low fences because you are not afraid of your neighbor.

You find it in every religion.
JWs drink alcohol like anything o! That one is not against their belief. They do the "F" very well o (at least I dated two in the past. And believe me, They are free givers. To them, it is "Catching fun." So it is blood transfusion that is against their belief.

That was how, when I was in secondary school in the late 80s, a teacher of mine lost her child due to religious extremism. She be Deeper Life. We call them SU then. Her child was sick and she refused to take him to the hospital. They kept praying and holding vigil in the house for the poor, innocent child. Even after they lost the child, they still continued the prayer, hoping the poor little thing will resurrect. We learnt it's neighbours that broke down their door after a few days when they couldn't contain the odour from the corpse again."

Deeper life church encourage and ensure proper medical care, in every deeper life retreat camp there is always a small clinic that dispense drugs and treat the injured. I know because I've been a member all my life.

Your husband chose the right profession and left behind countless wealth, enough the feed his 5th generation. Expensive schools, mega church and mega business.
Not all widows are as lucky. If he was a real "Archbishop" which I think is a title that legit belongs to the Anglican or protestant churches, the wealth would have been owned by the "church" in the true sense.. the schools would be free or at least affordable to the people who actually contributed to its establishment. The hospitals would be free or very affordable.
These are the legacy left by the churches established by the European missionaries.
So be happy "woman of God" and enjoy the wealth given to you by your dear husband.

Back to hijab, every profession has its dress code, comply or move on to other profession
