Good move from National Assembly at least for once. I used to tell people that delay in appointing ministers orchestrated the lull in economic activities, especially the capital inflow into the Nigerian economy as most investors were engaging in capital flight out of Nigeria and those willing to invest were kept in limbo waiting for policy direction for decision making. The moment the current administration was swore in, Nigerian economy was left in total auto-pilot mode, the Minister of Finance - a major political/economic appointment was never made rather the CBN Governor was left to gamble with most macro -economic/ monetary decisions that triggered the full blown recession as experienced. One wonders, why Donald Trump started nominating his cabinet members few hours after his election victory? US can never be left on auto-pilot for 24hrs let alone 7 months, US will crash beyond remedy. |
