Anyone that has taken a critical look at the Bible will come away with disappointment. It is so full of contradictions that indeed, it takes a suspension of reason or logic to embrace it. How can one be expected to believe something is true by suspending reason? It's like telling a hungry child there is food in an plate only if she believes very very hard that the food is there. Ridiculous! Poverty! I feel so sorry for Nigerians. These pastors have completely brainwashed them while making themselves rich. Tell me, with all the influence Adeboye and Oyedepo has, what has changed? The pastors, imams and politicians are living lavishly, the muslims are still killing christians and the christians are still starving and stylishly disguising it as fasting, Abeg jo! Was Jesus rich and his disciples poor? You think about that one for one second, |
Here's a link to the trailer. It looks like it's going to be a fun film. http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox_searchlight/phatgirlz/trailer/ The guy is not really Nigerian though - his accent is definately not a Nigerian accent. lol (although, I spotted NGO (www.getingo.com), a Nigerian model based in New York in the trailer). |
My eyes are filled with tears as I write this. Although I am thousands of miles from Nigeria, I can never forget Pastor Bimbo. She came to preach at OAU a few years ago, the year I was a Jambite. She blessed my life very much. I listened to her tv shows regularly and swore that should I ever settle down in Lagos, I would attend her church. May her gentle soul rest in peace in God's bosom. The question is if she can go like this, who can't? Lord have mercy. |
When I was back home, I heard the story of a girl at Babcock who gave birth to a baby in the toilet. She didn't know she was pregnant and was so shocked to see the baby, she left it there and ran away. Maybe she was lying but that's the story I heard. |

This post is bringing back so many memories. I remember Ababio - a real lifesaver. I also used Modern Biology and Principles of Physics. Thank God my days of JAMB and WAEC are over forever! |
I loved "Ebvu my Love"!!! Wow! Remembering those books brings tears to my eyes. They were such beautiful books. |
I am currently reading Zadie Smith's "White Teeth". I plan to read her latest book, "On Beauty" as soon as I am done. I finished reading Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" yesterday. I had picked up his "Davinci Code" on my way from Paris to Lagos - incredible book! "Angels and Demons" isn't as charged but it's also interesting. A friend of mine sent me Nigerian book "Walking with Shadows". I was surprised that the novel is about a gay Nigerian. When did Nigerians start writing about gay issues? It's not a fantastically written book but it's interesting. Last month, I read mostly Toni Morrison. I love her books so much (I've read almost every book she has ever written). |
