Chaos 3: 1-2
I come in peace, to witness violence. Not to partake in it in any form, neigh, but to feed off it. I do not support the oppressor nor do I feel for the oppressed, neither will I tolerate them who seek peace. On this thread shall I sit and witness unrest!!!. |

afrodoc2: Like someone has already said. This appears to have gone beyond EndSARS.
You need to read up on how many of these uprisings/revolutions/rebellions or whatever you want to call it take place. It often starts from a trivial looking issue and then evolves to include more and more crucial and significant issues.
The French revolution was ignited by what appeared to be the relatively boring issue of voting procedure in their general assembly before it spiraled out of control and the movement was hijacked from the moderates by more and more radical elements.
Don't expect that the EndSARS protest of the generationally frustrated people of Nigeria will end there. Every aggrieved and frustrated person and group is going to come out and what we have now in Nigeria is a rolling funnel, and nobody knows where it will be facing at the end.
I actually believe that if not for the patently anti-revolutionary spirit of Nigerians we would have a full blown uprising on our hands by now. The mix of a moribund and incompetent presidency with a large , hungry and angry population is quite dangerous. Yeah, I know protest can be hijacked at anytime. I’m saying the government has been receptive to the demands of EndSars so far. It makes no sense to still thinking the same government will start sending thugs to disrupt protestors. Look at what’s happening in Ogolonto Ikorodu, Cultist has taken over, robbing and stabbing people along that axis. There’s another video trending on Twitter of thugs stoning RRS officers inside their patrol vans in Alapere. The earlier those championing the protest stop attributing every attacks from thug/hoodlum as being sponsored by the government, the better. |

afrodoc2: Or another angu: government is speedily searching for any and every means of discrediting the movement. What does the government seeks to gain by discrediting the movement? 1.End Sars, the government has disbanded the unit. 2. All ex SARS officer are currently in Abuja. There has been no SARS on the road since the IGP ordered all of them to report to Abuja. Lot of people have confirmed even on twitter that most SARS state office are currently moribund or taken over by the men of CID. 3. Judicial inquiry has started in different states for the victims of SARS abuse. 4. Just 2 days ago 37 officers were dismissed/demoted from the Police office. 5. The IGP said no member of the disbanded SARS will be enlisted to the new SWAT team. So if the government has been responsive to the EndSars demand, what exactly do they stand to gain by discrediting the movement? Won’t that be counter productive? |

raumdeuter: This is a unique opportunity where the whole world and even politicians are listening to the Nigerian youths
I hope we use this opportunity well and make some fundamental changes. If you are honest enough we would know that we are not heading anywhere with the way the country was going
We dont need to fear if it will get worse but we just need to change the way we are going. There is a lot wrong with Nigeria, If ENDSARS will be the opportunity to correct even 10% of it then its welcome
Now we have the microphone in our hands, the world is listening, the govt looks like they are listening. We might not get this opportunity again for a long time Shey these ones that are not ready for dialogue and strategic action. After protest, what next? They are already smoking and doing all sort at Lekki toll gate protest ground. |

Ibime: The name SWAT does not indicate a unit that will be on the street dealing with civilians and doing investigative work. SWAT teams are usually called in by other security forces when water don pass garri. Let's not assume this is SARS in another clothing until we see their brief. They could make a start by defining their brief and rules of engagement to convince Nigerians. Also they could make a statement of intent by handing over command of the unit to Abba Kyari. IRT is already under Abba Kyari tho. Here is the full statement.
