What’s this Herrera to PSG in advanced talk I’m seeing all over Twitter.

Marca are quoting the Sun but they said they have confirmed it through their own sources.

PSG are offering him 150k.

Na wa for this club oooo.

If they don't, the situation will deteriorate because English teams would retaliate obviously.
Barca started it with Chelsea last season with €120, those ones no complain, Sevilla took it up with us and MUFC gave them back in their own coin, Atl Madrid tried it also against Arsenal and Arsenal just subsidize for their fans from €79 to €36. That werey Barca still want to continue it with MUFC. It seems it’s only MUFC that’s making their fans bear the brunt of their club greediness.

but if Olorun is now the name of a Christian God, then what point exactly are you trying to make?
Nihilist, you be Yoruba and I am sure you understand what I am talking about. Yorubas has been calling their mythical supreme ruler/being Olorun before they came in contact with Christianity or Muslim.

Olorun in Yoruba means supreme ruler/The One Above All. It’s not a name of a Christian God.

This debate while fun has neither head nor tail. The syncretism that was mentioned was neither perfect nor complete so not all the figures in the various pantheons have equivalents.

There is no trinitarian doctrine in Yoruba mythology and it will be impossible for either side to prove conclusively who the equivalent of Jesus is in Yoruba or any other pantheon.
God bless you Doc.

In the Yoruba mythology. Olorun is the supreme ruler of everything. Man has no contact with him, He requires no human ritual from anyone and He does not interfere in their affairs. The Orisha are like messengers or link between Him and man. He gives directions through these Orishas.

In Yoruba mythology, there’s no equivalent of Jesus.

El is the high God; you're very wrong — in the voice of an El worshipper

You can read about El online; the god's name was stolen and imported into Abrahamic religions in form of hell, just like every other concept in those religions were stolen and plagiarised from much earlier religions.

Several gods and goddesses have claimed to be the High God residing in the sky in the past just like Yahweh and Allah are doing now.

Olorun did it in Yorubaland. Chukwu and Chineke did it Iboland. Likewise Zeus, Brahma, Vishinus, etc.

Personally, I feel all these entities were created by God as giant men that first set foot on this planet and designed our forefathers using DNA cloning and sequencing, organ printing and replication, etc. And people worship them thinking they are God.
So who is this God?

I want to see how confused you are.

Do you want me to screenshot the beginning of this argument for you before you making your informed decision?

I was never arguing with Religion/Christianity with him in the first place. He said “Olohun is different from God” and I told him that in Yoruba Olorun = God. Olorun has been in Yoruba vocabulary way before the colonial masters came. Olorun defers from such gods like Sango, Ogun, Obatala and the likes. These gods even have mortal representation but in all of Yoruba history, Olorun never had any mortal representation. He doesn’t interfere in the affairs of human directly, He has no place of worship or shrine that people go to worship or pray to him. If you want to know the mind of Olorun or ask him for direction, you pray to one of the gods like Obatala or Orunmila to ask Olorun for direction for you.

I repeat Yoruba Olorun is different from Jesus.

I don't ẹ gege in arguments like this based on sentiments or trying to turn amala. Different people pray in different names. Some pray in their pastor's name, others in olugbohun, some in Ọlọ́run àṣẹ. Anybody can decide to pray in what we've name.they wish with this present day Christianity.

Those are regarded in African traditional religion as intercessors that will help send worshippers' requests to Olorun, residing in the sky. People pray and commit all their affairs to Olorun so they worship him.

With more enlightenment and advances in science, people will leave all these religions.

It's only a matter of time.

Is there any sense in believing a sky daddy is up there watching innocent kids die in privation, poverty and sickness and doing nothing to better their plight ?

The concept of God in religions has a lot of flaws and is mostly unreasonable. I believe in God/Infinite Intelligence/The All, but not in the religious manner.
It seems you are getting your sense back gradually.

Jesus is also an intercessor to align human back to God by sacrificing himself on the cross as atonement for sin.

So how is this Jesus = Yoruba Olorun?

I’m not sure you followed the discussion from the inception. I was not even arguing anything about religion with him except the fact that he equate Olorun as the same with them Sango, Ogun, Jesus and the likes.

Yorubas has known Olorun as supreme ruler/God way before the colonial master know about any continent called Africa. The Yoruba name for Jesus is Jesu while the Yoruba name for God is Olorun/Olodumare. So I was asking him in what way does he equate Jesus into the Yoruba Olorun. BlueRayDick:
First and foremost, Yorubas(mostly Lagos born and breds) refer to God as Ọlọhun. Those from the hinterlands say Ọlọ́run. Pentecostal Yorubas when talking about trinity say :" Ọlọ́run bàbà, Ọlọ́run ọmọ àti Ọlọ́run ẹ̀mí mímọ́.(Meaning God the father, God the son and God the holy spirit).Ọlọ́run ọmọ which is God the son is inseparable from the trinity as they are referred to as mẹta lọ́kàn (Trinity)

So if the Guy says Ọlọhun / Ọlọ́run is Jesus I don't think he's wrong, except you just want to troll him because you don't agree with his atheist point of view.

And yes Ọlọ́run according to the Yorubas is orisha ńlá, the biggest ong the gods. He lives in the sky and rules over the affairs of the world. It is believed he is so big you have to tru other deities which explains why Orunmila is consulted to know his mind and what he holds in the future for individuals. Most people who have smaller deities they worship in the Yorubaland of old prior to the missionaries and Arabs coming still look up to Ọlọ́run / Ọlọhun for better days ahead.
Whether in Lagos or in the hinterland, OLORUN is OLORUN. Olorun has never been spelt as OLOHUN.

Now to your other post. Yorubas do not worship Olorun directly, in fact there’s no shrine or place of worship to go and worship Olorun. There are place of worship for Orunmila, Obatala, Sango, Ogun even Esu but there’s no place of worship for Olorun. It is Olorun that grants Orunmila, Obatala, Sango, Ogun and the likes their power.

Bible says Jesus is our Lord. Lord means Oluwa and NOT Olorun.

It's always good to read about different religions so one can gain deeper insight into life issues. It's a personal endeavour.

When Europeans and Arabs brought their religions into our lands a few hundred years ago, people knew little of Jehovah/Yahweh, Jesus, Allah. To familiarise the people with these entities, they told them Jehovah means God in Hebrew and Olorun/Olohun in Yoruba, or Chukwu/Chineke in Ibo.

Olorun, Sango, Ogun, Oya, Chukwu, Chineke and the likes were all local deities Africans used to worship before slave masters and colonialists from Rome and terrorists from Arabia brought their own gods into Africa and merged the traits of Yahweh, Allah with those of our indigenous gods.

This mischievous act of combining various ideologies or beliefs is called syncretism and twists historical facts and myths about gods in religions.

But those that know the history of religions understand how powerful people use religion to colonize and dominate weaker people. It's all political.

For instance, some Muslims pray to Olohun as Allah but Olorun has Obatala as a son, as depicted in historical facts about the deity, but Allah has no child or son, as stated in Qur'an.

The syncretism causes confusion. To get rid of the confusion, it's wise to read the history of religions and the history of different gods, such as Yahweh, Allah, Jesus, Olorun, El, Gilgamesh, that people worship in religions.

It's all deceit and mind control.
grin grin

Can you stake 10k on your claim that Olorun is a deity that is been worshipped by the locals? Let’s put your Education to test.

Go and grab good books on history of Olorun/Olohun written by Yoruba authors (historians) and compare his traits with that of Jesus in the Bible.

I'm sure you are a Christian who constantly says "Jesus is Lord" and pray to Jesus as God, who some call Olorun in Yoruba in ignorance.

Can you translate "Jesus is Lord" to Yoruba? You stated Jesus is different from Olorun, but I'm sure you will use Olorun or Olodumare for "Lord" in that translation.

So, who is actually ignorant now?

By the time you examine the traits of Olohun in history books, I'm sure you will have an answer to that question.
I don’t need to go grab any book because I’m a full blooded Yoruba. It’s obvious you are not Yoruba.

When I say you spew a lot of rubbish with so much confidence you actually think I’m abusing you. Your ignorance is legendary.

Olorun is what Yorubas call God even before religion came to these side. Olorun and Jesus does not have the same trait.

Yorubas call Jesus OLUWA. OLUWA is different from OLORUN. When you say Jesus is Lord it translates loosely to Jesu Ni Oluwa. OLUWA means Lord.

Olorun/Olodumare/Eledumare - Yoruba
Yahweh/Jehovah - Hebrew
Allah - Arabic
God - English

So I ask you again, is Olorun Jesus?
