ok thats good you are using one of the best study guides, we all know that no matter how much we study we tend tolearn new things based on oracle almost every day, the best dumps for now are the actual test which has 177 questions but it just got updatedto 182 question and i will get that as soon as possible, it's also advisable to brain storm the questions not memorise them, some of the questions on the dumbs are wrong, you can also get the right answer. by using the right websites where forums are posted. the exams are not hard, but it's advisable to study hard, mmost of the question which will come from, database storage managment, installing oracle, net services, backup and recovery concepts. e,t,c

are there many other fellows in abuja interested in Oracle/DBA?
We could meet briefly(1hr) as a forum; share ideas, encouragement while I am in Lagos next week.
if it sounds good, let me know.
ProgrammingRe: What Kind Of DBA (Database Administrator) Are You? by larryoncol(m): 12:32pm On Apr 24, 2007
yeah i go for the gui, when configuring the listener and network features becasue the listener.ora,tnsname.ora and sqlnet.ora file could be very delicate, even a single unwanted period (.) or an unwanted parathesis could casue havoke, but as time goes on it better you learn how to edit the network files using a notepad, that even more interesting.

but i still find the CLI more interesting than the GUI.

yeah we know it's not all that mandetory that you have to attend an institution, but imust tell you that it helps in any way, who going to take the credit for you that you are good if you needed to make reference, apart from that something else that matters is exposure, we all know that oracle is very wide and no matter how much you think you know you can never still know it all, TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE. LOL

yeah i have friends who have taken the exams since then, the best dump to use is either the sybex test engine or actual test 177 question dumps. although there are one or two questions that are not right but if you really know what you are doing then you should be able to identify them.

yeah i know, what i meant is that you either have to switch to the oracle sid that you intend to open, only one can run at a time, when you switch to a diffrent sid the other one becomes stale,

thanks
ComputersRe: Oracle Database In Nigeria by larryoncol(m): 12:39pm On Apr 16, 2007
well it's basically what we train ourself to do, oracle is wide and the wider you go, the more broad your admuinistration techniques lcome in handy.
ProgrammingRe: Need Advice On Oracle Course by larryoncol(m): 7:23pm On Apr 11, 2007
well ther are two types of people, conceptual and pratical,

i love the practical , fact is you can never get to parctical with oracle, not everything you see in sybex works as well when it comes to handling a real 10g database (RDBMS)

WELL I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TO ATTENED AN INSTITUTION THAT IS RECOGNISED BY OREACLE BEFORE YOU GET GET YOU COP CERTIFICATION OK, BY THE WAY IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT GETTING THE STUFF AND LEARNING IT, ATTENDING AN INSTITUTION REALLY HELPS YOU IN MANY WAYS. AT LEAST YOU COULD HAVE A LECTURER THAT CANB VOUCH FOR YOU. "THAT GUY IS GOOD"
