am sure you guys wondering what office 2007 is like, for those of you who ain't seen it here, well thats gona be a thing of the past because you can download it from this link. and this is the blue edition

There's quite a big chance that you've never heard of this 'Blue Edition', because - as the NFO says - it is only available to equipment manufacturers and not to the general public. This is the copy from the original disk, which is (as said before) only accessible to technicians of Microsoft. This version of Microsoft Office 2007 will never appear for sale, since this is the only version where there is no need for a serial. This version also doesn't need an activation. The installer is very simple, undetailed and handy. The interface of application is completely changed, it is modernized and practically reminds in no way to the previous versions.In a few minutes the software will be installed on your computer, without any questions or other things that slow down the installation.

Office Enterprise 2007 is the most complete Microsoft toolset provided for people who must collaborate with others and work with information efficiently, regardless of location or network status. Office Enterprise 2007 builds on the strengths of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007, adding Microsoft Office Groove 2007 and Microsoft Office OneNote 2007, enabling people to collaborate and create, manage, and use information more efficiently.

This collection includes:

* Access 2007
* Excel 2007
* Groove 2007
* InfoPath 2007
* OneNote 2007
* Outlook 2007
* PowerPoint 2007
* Publisher 2007
* Word 2007

All programs can be installed on Windows XP and Vista.

By the way for those of you who are intersted in running oracle on other operating systems i have some unix OS that you can install. ubuntu, fedora core

these are the links for ubuntu downloads it's going to take time depending on the speed of your connection, for 100mbps it can take about 2 to 3 hours and make sure you use a download manger incase the link flaps.

Ubuntu is a complete Linux-based operating system, freely available with both community and professional support. It is developed by a large community and we invite you to participate too!

The Ubuntu community is built on the ideas enshrined in the Ubuntu Philosophy: that software should be available free of charge, that software tools should be usable by people in their local language and despite any disabilities, and that people should have the freedom to customise and alter their software in whatever way they see fit.

These freedoms make Ubuntu fundamentally different from traditional proprietary software: not only are the tools you need available free of charge, you have the right to modify your software until it works the way you want it to.

The team behind Ubuntu makes the following public commitment to its users:

Ubuntu will always be free of charge, and there is no extra fee for the "enterprise edition", we make our very best work available to everyone on the same Free terms.

Ubuntu comes with full commercial support from hundreds of companies around the world. Ubuntu is released regularly and predictably; a new release is made every six months. Each release is supported with free security updates and fixes for at least 18 months.

Ubuntu will include the very best in translations and accessibility infrastructure that the Free Software community has to offer, to make Ubuntu usable by as many people as possible. We collaborate as widely as possible on bug fixing and code sharing.

Ubuntu is entirely committed to the principles of free software development; we encourage people to use free and open source software, improve it and pass it on.

Ubuntu is suitable for both desktop and server use. The current Ubuntu release supports PC (Intel x86), 64-bit PC (AMD64) and PowerPC (Apple iBook and Powerbook, G4 and G5) architectures.

Ubuntu includes more than 16,000 pieces of software, but the core desktop installation fits on a single CD. Ubuntu covers every standard desktop application from word processing and spreadsheet applications to internet access applications, web server software, email software, programming languages and tools and of course several games.

ProgrammingRe: Future For Oracle And Networking by larryoncol(m): 11:33am On Jun 27, 2007
oracle will be the hight of RDBMS for years to come,

as for networking it's something that is evovling so you'll have todo alot of catching up as the timecomes up, the fact is that databases are becoming bigger and networking is getting more complex everyday. can you face the challenge.

ProgrammingRe: What Kind Of DBA (Database Administrator) Are You? by larryoncol(m): 11:29am On Jun 27, 2007
Yeah, definately. administering a database is the major role of a dba, GUI or CLI who cares. but there are ksituations where by you have to use your CLI, e.g you want to implement a complex resource plan, or a special of backup. we all know that the GUI is not the guy for this, but for daily managment and administration it's advisable to use your GUI it makes management more precise, faster and easy.

the fact is that even as a DBA you get to learn alot of this as you administer a database. oracle is wide.

ComputersRe: Oracle DBA Corner by larryoncol(m): 10:53am On Jun 01, 2007
@fellow

as segebee said NIIT is all about the people you meet there, they will practically take you thru your course but not everthing in detail, so you will probably have to do most of your studies on your own, try and register with oracle forums you will learn so much by interacting with people all over the world which are into oracle. also niit doesn't include introduction to PL/SQl in it's course outline so thats some thing that you will also need to study on your own, although PL/SQL is more of a dvelopers thing but haveing several built in packages, functions and procedures it's something that a database administrator will definately come accross once in a while. so yeah as for now NIIT is still leading. but if you are based in abuja there is a new IT training center that is coming up with full force. here is the website check it out (www.zomana.com/pss) they are definately going to be more better than NIIT. but they haven't kicked off yet. but i think by the end of june they should have resumed fully.
