Upgrading the charge to second degree murder doesn't mean he can't still be convicted for third degree murder. Like you opined, it's a difficult case to get a conviction in court.

In a case of this magnitude, it is very risky to overcharge. The prosecution seem to be taking the case on the face value based on the heat it has generated in the public hoping it will go into the courts with the same steam. There is a vast difference between a 2nd degree murder and 3rd degree murder even though they are both murder charges. In the 2nd degree murder charge, you have to proof there is an INTENT to kill rather than INDIFFERENCE to human life in the 3rd degree charge.

Now intent is quite difficult to prove as it is not usually a clear cut case and this is the reason some prosecutors stay off 2nd degree murder charge unless there is compelling evidence. If going by what we saw on the video, the best will be a 3rd degree murder charge to ensure the officer does not walk because we can't prove intent he wants to kill, he was simply trying to make an arrest and the unfortunate happened due to his indifference (carelessness) regarding human life. If they go for 2nd degree and are unsuccessful in proving intent, then the officer would walk. Mind you, the juror has to be unanimous in their decision either guilty or not, just one juror disagreeing will lead to mistrial. To bring the case for a 3rd degree murder after having charged a 2nd degree; they would have to declare a mistrial and re-litigate the case all over again.

Now this is my opinion: There is more to this case than we really understand or can see. The two people apparently knew each other and even though George Floyd (RIP) was not a saint, he does not deserve to have his life cut short. I have a feeling that the prosecution might "intentionally" want to bungle this case for reason best known to them (i.e. was this done to intentionally start a race riot in the country). A similar case happened in Baltimore in 2015 and the guy walked because the prosecution could not prove their case.

America is a very litigious society. Don't forget their law is called Criminal Justice System; not Victim justice. It is the criminals that seem to get more justice at the end of the day not their victims.

It is never an open and close case, the prosecution needs to build a very solid, sound case, otherwise the case will fall flat in its face. This is a jury trial, you can never know how it will pan out.

You are right about Covid being classified as a non factor in his death but the prosecution will not get the maximum sentence for the Policeman. The reason being that upgrading the charge to 2nd degree murder might mean they have over played it. His autopsy showed he had drugs in his system which when coupled with him and the Policeman having known each other will make the case more of a premeditated murder or manslaughter. The racism issue will not be valid once it is proven that they are well known to each other.
I believe there is more to this case and it's not just about spending a fake $20 bill but we shall see.

He said he consulted with WH doctors before taking it and they said it's okay if he wants to take it even though he's not been exposed. The article you sent to me was done last month, sponsored by fake news and big pharma but what I sent to you was a study conducted two days ago. A broad randomised study based on 1061 patients and it doesn't get any better than that. Just ask yourself why all your studies keep saying "uncertain" or "no benefit noted", why cant they just say outright that it dosen't work.

The study you sent is CRAP. It is similar to a university student in Nigeria going into the library and looking for research papers on when HCQ has interacted badly and then combined those instances without corresponding underlying facts on the state of each sample used by the original author or researcher.

My question to you:
1. How many patients were used in this study you highlighted?
2. Who oversaw the conduct of the clinical trials?
3. Does the study state exclusively that the trials were randomised?
4. Do patients in the study have comorbidities? If they do how many?
5. Is this a clinical trial or a clinical observation like the Virginia Veteran Clinic?

Answers these and you'll be good.

PS: outward symptoms like fever is actually good because it suggests your body is doing the right thing against a foreign invader. HCQ does not suppress outward symptoms during treatment, outward symptoms are just indicators that treatments are in the right direction.

The therapy has benefits of stabilising temperature and coughing, but it doesn't lead to antibody response(virological cure) or viral shedding. In fact it doesn't stop the spread and worsening of infection. Only blankets outward symptoms. But I admit it's better than nothing.

The corona virus that was investigated in 2005 and now is the same thing. In fact, the Corona virus is actually a group of viruses that looks like a crown when examined under the microscope, hence the name corona. The only difference here is that the virus seem to have been modified somehow hence the way it is behaving. This is one of the reasons it is believed to have been altered in a lab.

There is s study by NIH headed by Dr Fauchi and they found Chloroquine inhibits coronavirus as at 2005. Are the cures being hidden from people?

The initial french study was not a randomised trial and so some people dispute it. They came out with a new study two days ago which is randomised and using 1061 Covid19 patients.

Only future will prove the past.

The reason why I partially accept ur believe that corruption may be in play is the way America quickly approved remdesivir. Maybe because Gilead sciences Inc is their own. Maybe they would have relied so much on India for hydroxychloroquine production. My statements are just "maybe". I know some hidden things will be revealed in the future.
I think if the side effects are not killing, people should try. Like on youtube, different survivors are recommending different things. Oyo State Governor used different things for his cure. Oni of Ife recommended some herbs too. If the symptoms are mild, no problem, the survival rate is high. But, if it reaches the Pneumonia level and ICU is recommended, it's 50-50.

I understand we are all learning, if you do your research, you will find reasons like I said. The knowledge will stay with you if you find it yourself. if after researching you still cannot fine it, I will help you out.

Countries like India are using hydroxychloroquine to cure Covid19. HCQ has become a "De-Facto" cure in most countries including USA and China. It is not yet a "De-Jure" cure because of the corrupt Medical Industrial Complex and WHO which is being run by a war criminal who almost exterminated a whole tribe in Ethiopia using the Cholera vaccines supplied by gates foundation and covering up the epidemics.
