Health › Re: 60% Lagos Primary Hospitals In Poor Shape– Commissioner by Larryton(m): 4:17pm On Nov 14, 2022 |
ogododo: The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, said at least 60 per cent of the primary healthcare centres in the state are not in very desirable state.
Abayomi revealed this on Saturday on his Instagram handle @profakinabayomi.
The commissioner, however, said the state government had invested time to conduct a needs assessment on PHC infrastructure to provide evidence-based information for improvement.
He said, “A functional Primary Health Centre is the foundation of a vibrant healthcare system, and as part of the blueprint for the transformation of the medical infrastructure strategy in Lagos State, the @lagostategovt has invested time to conduct a needs assessment on PHC infrastructure to provide evidence-based information for improvement.
“Lagos State has over 325 PHCs, with at least 60 per cent not in a very desirable state. @lagosstategovt is currently putting plans in place to refurbish these facilities to cater for the health needs of Lagos residents.
“We currently have the blueprints which will serve as the framework to transform all the PHCs. Construction will commence soon and we believe that over the next 3 to 4 years the PHCs will be transformed. #ForAGreaterLagos.
“It was a great honour representing the Governor of Lagos State @jidesanwoolu as a special guest at the Adopt-A-Healthcare Facility Program (ADHFP) launch, organised by Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria @pshan_alliance themed “Bringing Quality Health Care to The Fingertips of Nigerians.”
According to the World Health Organisation, scaling up primary healthcare interventions could save 60 million lives in low and middle-income countries and increase average life expectancy by 3.7 years by 2030.
“Achieving the targets for PHC requires an additional investment of around $200 to $370 billion a year for a more comprehensive package of health services.
‘’At the UN high-level UHC meeting in 2020, countries committed to strengthening primary health care. WHO recommends that every country allocate or reallocate an additional one per cent of GDP to PHC from government and external funding sources,” WHO noted.

Politics › Re: Renewed Hope 2023: Action Plan For A Better Nigeria" - Tinubu’s Manifesto by Larryton(m): 6:02pm On Nov 13, 2022 |
voxpopuli23: The Presidential candidate of The All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu released his manifesto in late October 2022. In the manifesto document, he highlighted national security, the economy, job creation, and others as the top priorities of his campaign and presidency, if elected.
Tinubu, in his 80-page manifesto also vowed to end the controversial petrol subsidy gulping trillions of naira annually, and tackle the forex crisis hindering the economy.
The APC candidate’s campaign policy document, tagged "Renewed Hope: Action Plan for a Better Nigeria", was unveiled at the State House Banquet Hall, alongside the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Here are 10 promises of the former Lagos State governor contained in the manifesto.
1. Build a Nigeria where sufficient jobs with decent wages are available to youths and can help build a better life.
2. Manufacture, create, and invent more of the goods and services Nigerians require. He noted that Nigeria will be known as a nation of creators, not just consumers.
3. Export more and import less, strengthening both the naira and the Nigerian way of life.
4. Continue assisting Nigerian farmers, through enlightened agricultural policy that promotes productivity and assures decent incomes, so that farmers can support their families and feedOn the nation.
5. Modernize and expand public infrastructure so that the rest of the economy can grow at an optimal rate.
6. Embolden and support young people and women by harnessing emerging sectors such as the digital economy, entertainment, culture, tourism, and others to build the Nigeria of tomorrow, today.
7. Train and give economic opportunity to the poorest and most vulnerable citizens, and create a Nigeria where no parent is compelled to send a child to bed hungry, worried whether tomorrow shall bring food.
8. Generate, transmit and distribute sufficient, affordable electricity to provide the requisite power to enlighten the lives, homes, and dreams of Nigerians everywhere.
9. Make basic healthcare, education, and housing accessible and affordable for all.
10. And, establish a bold and assertive policy that will create a strong yet adaptive national security architecture and action to obliterate terror, kidnapping, banditry, and all other forms of violent extremism from the face of our nation.

Well, everybody under this crazy economy APC left can't manage investment properly, especially when naira is on a free fall.
I'm glad no one said Peter Obi still Anambra state money. He invested, Obiano messed it up But you can blame Tinubu for everything happening in Lagos. |
Politics › Re: SW Governors- Yoruba Are The Problem With Nigeria by Larryton(m): 2:49pm On Nov 10, 2022 |
FieldMarshall06: It was Sanusi Lamido Sanusi that said- yourubas are the problem with Nigeria, and he was right. In fact, many northern leaders and many enlightened people know that he was right.
In 2015, the Yorubas, against all warnings, foisted a tyrant and tribalist Buhari on this country. Their anger was that GEJ appointed igbos to top positions and with Buhari, Yorubas would reclaim those positions. But look at where Nigeria is today. $1 Is N900 , hunger is everywhere and Nigerians are japa.ing. thousands have been butchered by Fulanis just because Yorubas wanted appointments.
The very selfish nature of Yorubas is a problem for Nigeria. Except Obasanjo, the Yorubas are incapable of producing a nationalist. Never. They are very small minded and never see the big picture.
Today, the SW politicians are at it again supporting a Tinubu presidency just because he is yoruba. This Tinubu is a man whose whole life is shrouded in secrecy and mystery, whose greed is legendary, who is corrupt to the bones as evidenced in his fake Bishop shame, and many more red flags. Yet Yorubas want to push him to become Nigeria's no1 citizen. Just because he is my tribes man.
The warning signs are there for Tinubu, the red flags are clear, just like they were for Buhari. Yet, educated Yorubas like Rotimi Akeredolu, Fashola, Osinbajo, Fayemi, would support an international criminal to become our no1 citizen. Yoruba selfishness is the bane of Nigeria and is the reason I see them from a different lens, no matter how highly placed they are. For me, any Yoruba man I deal with must have proven his values first. Education alone don't save the Yoruba man from selfishness, hate, tribalism and mischief.
Let it be known that if Tinubu becomes our President we are all finished for real. Before the world, our respect index, nationality perception index and global leadership role will go to an all time low from the abysmal level it currently is in. Nigeria would sink in the comity of nations. The world wouldn't respect nor accept a cocaine Lord as our president. Nigeria would be an object of ridicule. Every Nigerian would suffer it.
In a nation of erudite professors, scientists, professionals in all fields, top lawyers, global achievers, respected army generals; it would be suicide having a cocaine pusher as leader of all these great achievers. In fact, Tinubu's ambition is an insult to respectable Nigerians.
May God deliver us from this terrible plague that Yorubas want to put the whole Nation again, after betraying the whole South for crumbs in 2015, and putting Nigeria in this current mess. The Yorubas never learn and never change. Smh.
May God save Nigeria from the Yorubas. Beware of people who tend to blackmail you emotionally, they are the enemy of our region. YORUBA RONU!!!!! |

KingOfTheDamned:

Kai Yoruba people and evil. See as they used their media to style the report as if Those ibos where the worst hit by the flood because of Peter Obi being from their tribe?
Why are the Yoruba so uncivilized hate filled and always tribalsitic?
See how they turned a serious report that should detail those innocent people affected around the country to a tribalsitic trash piece .
Even here in my Edo state we didn't feel the flooding much but I know Bayelsa was nearly submerged....
Same with Benue state , Adamawa etc
Why focus on Anambra ? Anyways I don't blame that devilish tribe I blame the ibos for placing themselves in such a situation that the Yorubas just ridicule them whenever they want
You ibos spent years believing the Yoruba media that told you the north is your enemy when the Yoruba are your true enemies .
You ibos need to get some sense .. the north have absolutely nothing against you, the southwest are your true enemies .
If Una like make Una no wise If 84 people is killed in Anambra and you think its nothing serious, it means you have mental issue |
