FamilyMarriage Now Vs Then – Which Do You Prefer? by lasmile(op): 1:46pm On Dec 08, 2017
Oge De Blogger writes...
Marriage Now Vs Then

Marriage is the legally, culturally or formally recognised union of two people as partners in a relationship specifically a union between a man and a woman.
The origin of marriage is as old as man himself. But let’s look at the impact of marriage in our society and has it values changed over time? Answers to the question below will throw more light into this topic.
Is our marriage these days better than that of our fore-fathers and great grand mothers?
Back in the days when our fathers would pick their wives without asking out for a date not to talk of going sexually with them before meeting their parents. In fact some of these women were married to the husbands without seeing him in person. Preparation to marry a woman then doesn’t involve so much razzmatazz like church/white wedding with exorbitant reception.
Traditional and cultural rites and values were highly respected and therefore the benefits attached to such rite would guide the union. Then it turns out to be the coming together of two unknown people, recognising their responsibilities and at the end of this union, they had both lived together in blessing, well stricken in age, there was nothing like DIVORCE for unnecessary reasons.
But now, the tune has changed. We call it the 21st century, in fact one of the religious books called it the generation of vipers.
These days a man can only but lust after 10 different kind of women, get himself inspired to approach 3 out of them, select the best 2 to race and after so much of sexual exercises with all of them, he pick the finalist to which he has concluded is the best for him, as if that is not enough, the waywardness continues after the marriage.
It is even more common among the so called new generation styled marriages where so much attention is given to church or white wedding. the razzle-dazzle of announcing marriage ceremonies has becomes the talk of the city, hypes here and there, getting a special twitter #tag for the union. This special focus to westernised procedures has led to a total abandoned of the traditional marriage which is of more value and blessing when compared to that of our great grand parents. Now we give priority to white/church wedding(adopting western culture) and after all of these, we tend to be having high rate of broken marriages, News of dissolved marriages are everywhere. Now it seems we are getting tired of fruitless marriages and we are moving into a worst situation where we now have another union called baby mamas and daddies. So I ask, how is marriage of these days better than that of our great grand parents?

CrimeThe #EndSARS Campaigners are Criminals – Oge De Blogger by lasmile(op):
Nigerians have been complaining and campaigning heavily for the brutality of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) to be stopped but, unknown to some people that, some criminals hiding under the special harshtag (#EndSARS) have hijacked the online protest and now using it to call on the government to completely discontinue this special anti-robbery department of the Nigeria police.
The rate at which crime has increased in Nigeria is alarming. All over the street in Lagos, you see these young men and women who have refused to take up education or employment, they prefer to press keyboards and hustle at night. They don’t work but, they have clean rides, expensive clothes, shoes and live extravagantly, some of them have turned into armed robbers since the internet fraud (Yahooo!) is becoming less lucrative.
I am not supporting the brutality of the innocent people but I am against calling for an outright disbandment of the SARS.
SARS or the scorpions as they are sometimes called is a very strong department within the Nigeria Police that is capable of hunting down criminals and engage them effectively at gun battles.
SARS have been doing an excellent job in taming societal vices and crimes. They work with information they mined from the data they collected from different sources collected over a period of time to track down offenders.
Nigerians in time immemorial we have always been a hard nut to crack, and that is why we always have to be dealt with before spilling out.
SARS MUST STAND! #SARsMustStandProfessionally
Those spearheading or propagating these disgusting campaigns need to be checked for any case of crime.
Whichever way, we must learn to behave well, if Nigeria must be better.

OGE DE BLOGGER

As seen on several occasions, I continue to wonder why the bridegrooms of these days cant do without adding a sun shade to their outfit. Many will think they are been sensitive to sunlight and might be squinty during photos. Or could it be shyness?

I am just wondering if there is an etiquette rule about glasses or what people thought of wearing glasses in this situation.

CelebritiesEnjoy Your Cold Beer During Service In This Church by lasmile(op): 4:23pm On Nov 05, 2017
A church in South Africa has brought in another dimension in spreading the gospel by introducing alcohol which they use in baptizing members as well as encouraging them to booze up during service.
According to The Southern Daily, a South African tabloid, the church known as Gabola Church of International Ministries, [Gabola being the Tswana word for drinking], was founded two months ago and the number has increased so tremendously that it has become the most popular church in Freddy’s Tavern, Orange Farm, which is in the south of Johannesburg.

Describing the Gabola Church as a gathering of like-minded worshippers, Southern Daily said the members have no problem spending a lot of time in church to show their ‘love of the Lord’, as long as there is enough booze to go around.
“This church is not called Gabola Church for nothing. Gabola is the Tswana word for drinking and in this holy church of the Lord, the congregation rocks up at a tavern.

With cold beers going down, loud cries of ‘Amen’ can be heard booming from Freddy’s Tavern in Orange Farm, south of Joburg.

From the Pastor to the Bishop of the two-month-old Gabola Church of International Ministries, and to members of the congregation, one cold beer after another is handed out.

Members are baptized with their choice of alcohol. Gabola Church congregants drink together during the church services.

Bishop Tsietsi Makiti, 52, is the founder of the church in South Africa. He started the church in a tavern, and it now has five hundred members.

The church accommodates people who are not welcome at other churches. When sources visited the church, the Bishop was quenching his thirst with his drink and praying with members who were also drinking.

Makiti said when Jesus came to his followers, alcohol changed everything. According to Bishop Makiti, people didn’t know what to do for fun, but when Jesus changed water into wine, he prayed for it to stimulate their bodies.

In his words:

‘So this church also prays for their drinks before they are served. With God in our taverns, we would see crime being reduced and love and respect promoted.’

People who drink beer are happy and peaceful. This means they are living in the shadow of God.”

The owner of the tavern, Freddy Mathebula who also spoke on the church proceedings, said the church accommodated the rejects of communities.

“Since the church started, crime has been reduced and we have received a great response from the community.”

A member of the Gabola Church, Jeffrey Mokoena, also spoke of his happiness being part of such an exciting family.

“The church makes me feel at home. I can’t see myself being a member of any other church,” he said proudly.

In Alimosho axis of Lagos state, on friday 27 Oct 2017, recorded an unusual rainfall laden with ice falling, also known as hailstorm.

Hail is a form of solid precipitation. It consists of balls or irregular lumps of ice, each of which is referred to as a hail stone.

Residents witnessed ice blocks, the size of gravels falling from the sky leaving the very apprehensive when solid blocks started falling on rooftops, road and vehicles, making very loud unusual sound.
The ice storm started during the heavy rainfall which started around 12:15pm lasting about 27 minutes with strong winds.

The amazing thing I ever saw, was when people had to rush out to pick the ice and eat them, saying it is a blessing.

CelebritiesPolice Clear Davido Of All Murder Allegations by lasmile(op):
In a turn of events that almost threatened his career and livelihood, Nigerian pop star, Davido, is now allowed to go free and has been cleared of all allegations of murder or involvement in the mysterious death of his friend Tagbo Umeike.

According to the autopsy report, Mr. Umeike recently passed after dying from suffocation though it was originally reported that he died of alcohol poisoning after his birthday party at Shisha Lounge in Lekki, Lagos.

Davido became a person of interest after rumors started circulating that he was involved in Mr. Umeike’s death when Tagbo’s girlfriend and actress, Caroline Danjuma, accused Davido of not being truthful about what transpired the night of Mr. Umeike’s death.
Davido’s legal counsel, Mr. Bobo F. Ajudua, said that Davido was released by the police and was absolved of murder allegations against him, and is free to go about his business as he pleases.

“We’ve been to Panti and my client has given a statement there too. It’s clear from all the investigation, evidence, and statements given so far that David was not at any point with the deceased after he left him alive at Shisha room and as such he’s been released to go about his business.”

“Of course if called on to give any more information he would gladly. But in truth, he only knew so much about the night and has reproduced this time and time again. They’ve also observed the consistency between his statements and those of all the others interviewed, as a result he’s been allowed to go,” he said.

Though Davido has been wrongly accused, and many allegations have been made against him in the media, he says that he has forgiven everyone and anyone that had something negative to say about him during this hard time.

“Thank you, Jesus. Any persons that said false things about me or accused me of what I don’t know, I sincerely forgive you and God bless you.”

“We move on, let’s all be better. Thank you, Lord. Thank you to everyone that prayed for me and to those who didn’t, maybe you forgot. We thank God, all in all, now let’s get back to the music,” he said.
