Why is there so much resistance to a region clamoring to break away from the colonial arrangement called Nigeria? In a democracy, such protest to secede shouldn't be a reason for rolling out drums of war. They have the right to ask and their agitation should be addressed with all seriousness by the federal government. I understand that history is not that simple but when the past intrudes the present with a threat to the future, we should all pay attention. It should be clear to all now that the leg of the civil war, hurriedly buried by General Yakubu Gowon's "no victor, no vanquished," is now sticking out to threaten our fractured national unity. Nnamdi Kanu's agitation on Radio Biafra is worrisome but the substance of the call to secede is not something the government should treat with a kid's glove. Need I remind us that this is not a military regime? Threatening Igbo people with another civil war is not the right way to deter them. I think it is cruel to think that threatning the region with war should be the only argument against a people desiring to become an independent entity. There are other democratic processes that could determine that. Nnamdi Kanu does not speak for the entire Eastern region but he is a voice of many who believe that successive governments have marginalized them since the civil war. If the South East, as a geopolitical zone, decides to break away, there is a simple bloodless solution to it. The government should propose an Independence referendum. If people in the region are allowed to vote themselves in or out of Nigeria, there would be no bloodshed. My prediction, however, is that the fear of the unknown might make a lot of Easterners to vote against it and that would lay future agitations to rest. And if they vote in favor of breaking away, the rest of the country should let them. Each geopolitical zone can decide to remain a part of Nigeria or become another country. Each region is capable of restructuring and surviving independently. I see no reason for compelling the region to remain an integral part of the nation. I know someone reading this would say that it's not that simple. I agree. It isn't but it is possible. It is possible for the country to break into independent sovereign nations without bloodshed but those who are benefiting from the current arrangement will never wish to loose their grip on power. That's why the Governors and the political class in the concerned region are not the ones fighting for Biafra. The late Odimegwu Ojukwu's military ambition to secede is an individual effort that plunged the entire region into the stark reality of war but an Independence referendum would represent a collective wish of the people to either stay or leave the union. Agitation for Biafra should not be taken with levity. The agitators should not be scorned, derided and disregarded as unimportant and non-threatening. Doing that would mean underestimating the impending and potential damage they are capable of wrecking on the security of lives and properties across the nation. Those clamoring for secession have a right to ask under a democratic society. Granting them the right to choose whether to stay or leave is the responsibility of the government. With the pending lawsuit and detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the Buhari administration is in a tough spot. Convicting the man for treason, which carries death penalty, could be the nuclear bomb that will plunge the country into another form of militant insurgency. We must understand that he has followers who still believe in Biafra. The huge base of Biafrans, supporters and opportunists alike, might lead to armed resistance against the rest of the country. The Federal government should not make the mistake of turning Kanu into a martyr. That would make him an idea and ideas live longer than those who propound them. We have Boko Haram as an example. This matter should be handled delicately before it would get out of hand. A democratic dispensation is different from a military dictatorship. The government must find a means to ensure that this issue is treated with utmost care. It is also a time for other zones in Nigeria to debate the Nigerian question. What do we stand to lose or gain as a nation if the South East should go? What is the endpoint of the Biafra project and why must any region be compelled to remain a part of the colonial marriage called Nigeria? https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10207395443859551&id=1090502395&refid=17&_ft_=top_level_post_id.10207395443859551%3Atl_objid.10207395443859551%3Athid.1090502395%3A306061129499414%3A2%3A0%3A1448956799%3A-6136464886767066273&__tn__=%2As |

On a serious no I Am Nigeria. Be responsible for Nigeria. Nigeria has poor leadership because you have not risen up to take responsibility. God bless Nigeria. God bless PMB. I Am Nigeria |

https://olivemums./2015/09/30/the-idahosas-journey-to-parenthood/ During the first year of our marriage, pregnancy didn’t happen like I expected. Subsequently, I convinced my husband to go with me for a fertility check-up. He thought it was silly because he was so sure that we’d have our kids. Eventually, just to pacify me, we went for the check-up. To our surprise, they did all the testing and came back to us with tormenting news. They told us that both he and I had very serious fertility issues and that we would never be able to have a child without In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). The Doctor looked at us both in our eyes and told us that we are 99.9% infertile. My world felt like it crashed down on me. It was a journey I never expected to undergo. My husband on the other hand had steadfast faith and kept reassuring me, saying, “We will have our children! God promised it, He will do it!” Following the logical path of thinking, we decided to embark on the journey of IVF. The next year, we gathered our money together from some investments we made before marriage and went for our first treatment. After $25,000, injections, surgery and so many stories that ought not to be told, we did our first embryo transfer. 2 weeks later, so full of hope, we went back to see if we were pregnant and my world crashed again; it didn’t work... |

Saay1:So why did man have eat of the tree to have knowledge of good and evil? |
Good morning Nairalanders. Conscience is the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one's conduct or motives, impelling one toward right action: Genesis 2:16-17 KJV And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: [17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 3:3-5 KJV But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. [4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. From the bible passage above we can see that man had no knowledge of good and evil until he ate of the tree. what do you think, did man have a conscience when he was created? |

If you have sources who worship in the villa. Call them and you will find out this is true. Osinbajo has been caged. |
President Muhammadu Buhari has moved against Christian religious activities within the precincts of the Aso Rock presidential villa, a source familiar with the matter has disclosed to The Trent. The Aso Rock Villa Chapel serves as the official church of Aso Rock where Christian activities inside the presidential villa are conducted. According to an eyewitness who spoke to The Trent on Thursday, September 3, 2015 on condition of anonymity, heavily armed men stormed the Aso Rock Chapel on Sunday, August 30, 2015 denying worshippers access to the church. “Normally, services begin by 7am at the church but when we got there, we met armed security men who said we cannot enter. They said they were acting on orders from above. We waited outside till a few minutes past 8am before they allowed us to enter,” the source disclosed. A visibly embarrassed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who worships at the Villa Church, arrived the Chapel and could be seen managing to conceal a worried expression over the incident. When our reporter contacted Presidential Spokesman Garba Shehu to confirm the development, he claimed he was not aware of the incident. “What you are telling me is news to me. I am not aware of this issue. There is a lot we are dealing with and I hope you are aware the church was handed over to Vice President Osinbajo. So please call Prince Laolu Akande, his spokesman to confirm this issue”, he said. Further investigations by The Trent have revealed that Sunday’s move was the second in a series of brazen attempts to shut down Christian activities in the Villa. Less than two months ago, the Children’s Church of the Villa Chapel where the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Oludolapo Osinbajo worships with the children was closed down on orders from above. According to our source, “security concerns were given as reasons for the closure of the Children’s Church.” Attempts by this newspaper to reach Vice- Presidential spokesman Laolu Akande failed as his phone lines were unreachable at the time of filing in this report. Mahmud Jega captured what we've been saying all along:
"Still other social media warriors said that President Buhari
should be given a free hand to pick his aides purely on merit
without regard to regional balancing. Any Northerner who
makes this argument could be suffering from historical
amnesia. Forty years ago when most Federal public
servants were Southerners, they insisted that “merit” must
be used as the basis for all public service appointments.
Northerners however insisted on “federal character” and
succeeded in writing it into the 1979 Constitution.
Northerners’ vigilance has kept it in the Constitution ever
since." www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/columns/after-the-wait-the-storm/108668.html |
True communication is the live wire of any marriage. The aim of communication should be to get spouses to understand each other and not to prove that one person is wrong and the other is right. In getting your spouse to understand you s/he will see her/his wrong. To me its not a matter of right or wrong, its a matter of right understanding. |
