the current affairs its not really that hard, it's just govt with some basic questions we are expected to know abt nigeria andmaybe some other countries, was surprised when i saw 3 literature questions in english tho
Do u remember the Lit. Questions?
Were the english questions about parts of speech and filling in the blanks with nearest or opposite in meaning? Please, I need help cuz I'm a nervous wreck right now! cry

Cusas is not hard. you don't even need to read for it, there's no point, cos the questions u get can be gotten from any topic uve done in senior school especially math. there are only 60 questions so there's no point killing itself over it. tho I'd advice u learn the basics in math, trust me its not hard I had 18/20 in math 15/20 in English and 10/20 in current affairs which is mostly government. cusas will test how smart u are and ur ability to remember, not how good u can cram a book. so if ur smart u'll most likely pass very well especially those doing govt. as for science students I advice u look for something
to help u with current affairs. then ur interview is going to be awkward especially for guys. so just prepare...
For the current affairs I hope it's simple gov't stuff that a lay man knows not those complex gov't stuff like electoral processes, history, organizations, political parties, etc. Btw, what course are u planning on studying?

Buhari can catch the youths easily. The people and youths during Buhari's regime in '84 know the kind of person Buhari was. He's not as much a man of integrity as people want us to believe.
1. He acted like a savage because he lost in 2011
2. He claimed Abacha never stole any money yet attacks GEJ on corruption
3. He portrays the boko haram sect like victims than perpetrators
Buhari please be quiet and be more careful if not your actions will be used against you in the future once again.

No dear, EVERYTHING is childish about that statement. Going through your previous posts I see you are either single, or perhaps have suffered a great deal of heartbreak from men in life.. you sound so bitter desperate to subdue male dominance... It's pointlesss to argue with folks like you... Holla at me when you overcome your pain. Grow up.
I'm not pained. No man has abused me. I have close and wonderful relationships with males from my blood relatives to friends, therefore I have no distrust for them. However, I don't fancy how most men treat women when they wouldn't want to be treated the same. If male dominance to you is all about eternal subjugation towards women they you lady need help. There are guys who have seen the constant abuse women face and are appalled by how men treat women. Why don't you ask them if they're trans-gender since they want to subdue "dominance". There's one of them on here, Francistony.

It has nothing to do with inferiority complex.
Society projects marriage as a necessity for women. Most married men in that society are as irresponsible(or more) as they were before they got married. Many Nigerian men cheat and abuse their spouses in every way possible and the woman is expected to take it because "she must stay married". Some women there are then conditioned to believe that the greater responsibility of keeping their marriage is on their shoulders, after all, their men are feckless.
I know there will be people angry with your comment but there's truth in your statement and that's the reality of a LOT of nigerian women

I'm so bored of this silly, childish statement I keep hearing from those who accept trash that comes along with western culture.

Should the culturalists in return say to you: "Stop eating traditional dishes, listening to afrobeats, wearing aso-ebi, bearing your traditional last names" etc?? Don't be ridiculous
There's nothing childish in that statement. Why talk trash about western culture when emulate their elements? I'm not saying theirs is better than ours. There's no better culture on this earth. Stop condemning western values when you portray elements of westernisation yourself. There are very decorative parts of our culture that even foreigners admire but there are things that need to change to align with modern times. You have a brain try thinking before typing? Health / Re: Genetic Tweak Could Make All Mosquitoes Harmless Males by lavatoz(f): 12:29am On May 24, 2015
wallflower:

You don’t have to hate all mosquitoes, just the females. They’re the ones that feed on blood and transmit pathogens in the process. Female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, in particular, are responsible for spreading viruses that cause painful and sometimes deadly diseases. Now, researchers may have identified a gene that helps determine sex in that species. They call it Nix. If this works, that means future mosquito control strategies may center around converting bloodsucking females into harmless males -- or at least selectively eliminating deadlier females. The findings were published in Science this week.

According to the World Health Organization, several hundreds of millions of people across the planet are at risk for the mosquito-borne viral infections dengue , yellow fever , and chikungunya. Unfortunately, it’s really difficult to identify single genes in the part of the insect genome where their version of our Y chromosome sits. That’s why researchers haven’t been able to pinpoint a single male-determining gene -- called an M factor -- until now.

After analyzing male Aedes aegypti genomic DNA, a team led by Virginia Tech’s Zach Adelman and Zhijian Tu identified a candidate gene that was expressed in both adult males and early on as the embryos were still developing. They used a gene-editing tool to control the expression of this gene, the M factor Nix, and found that it’s necessary to kick off male development. Not only is it required, it’s sufficient. “The exact sequence of events that leads to mosquitoes developing as males is not clear,"
Adelman tells Science. “But we know that Nix is at the top of that cascade and that is what counts.”

Changes to Nix actually resulted in deformed sex organs: When they silenced the gene completely, the mutant males lost certain features on their genitals, and when the gene was expressed on other parts of the genome, mutant females ended up with masculinized Instruments.

"Nix provides us with exciting opportunities to harness mosquito sex in the fight against infectious diseases because maleness is the ultimate disease-refractory trait," Tu says in a news release. While the researchers weren’t able to completely convert the sex with a flip of the Nix switch, these resulting mosquitos were infertile and couldn’t pass on their genes. It’s a start, and maybe one day they’ll be able to uncover more M factors that could help control the spread of disease.

Oh... shocked
I didn't know there was a special gene that determined the gender of a mosquito? Guess it's not a chromosomal issue like ours but isn't the female anopheles mosquito responsible for malaria?
Politics / Re: The False Accusations Against Ngozi Okonjo Iweala by lavatoz(f): 12:08am On May 24, 2015
Sweetguy25:
Ngozi may go down in history as the most famous Minister of finance Nigeria has ever had. I doubt if previous ministers of finance were scrutinized and castigated as much she was.

But let me ask please – What crimes did Ngozi commit that she is so much vilified and abused by Nigerians? Why do Nigerians blame all their economic problems on Ngozi? Is it because she was conferred with the ceremonial title of “coordinating minister of the economy”?

I have found out that many people who accuse Ngozi of destroying the Nigerian economy are blatantly ignorant of how the Nigerian economy is setup and the duties of the minister of finance.

For starters, there are two ways of controlling an economy – Fiscal Policy and Monetary Policy.
Fiscal policy is the use of government revenues and expenditure to stimulate economic growth while monetary policy is basically the use of money supply (e.g. interest rates) to stimulate economic productivity.
Fiscal policy in Nigeria is maintained and managed by the Ministry of Finance while monetary policy is managed by the central bank of Nigeria.
I find it highly hypocritical that nobody ever accuses the CBN of not doing enough to stimulate economic growth and employment. Incidentally, majority of Nigerians are ignorant of the duties and functions of the CBN.
It is the duty of the Central bank to control and manage
- interest rates;
- inflation;
- foreign exchange reserves;
- the national credit system;
- exchange rates
In Nigeria however, we often accuse Ngozi of depleting our foreign reserves, we accuse her of the high exchange rates; we accuse her of unemployment; we accuse her of inflation; we accuse her of everything wrong with the economy. These aren't her duties.

Ngozi does not control exchange rates, the CBN does
Ngozi does not manage or control our foreign reserves, the CBN does
Ngozi does not control inflation, the CBN does
Ngozi’s job is to manage the revenues and expenditures of the federal government; how your state governors spend their allocation and revenues is not her concern.

She has carried out her duties to the best of her ability and I can’t think of any previous minister of finance that did a better job than Okonjo Iweala.

Nigerians should learn to apportion blames to whom they are due

Blame the CBN for inflation
Blame the CBN for high rates interest
Blame the CBN for not managing the foreign reserves properly
Don’t blame Okonjo Iweala

Thank you.

You need to tell them again, because most Nigerians are all talk more and think less.

Awon frustrated bunch at it again!! undecided undecided undecided

I don't think some of the perverted souls on this thread understand the point(s) they are making.
Men are free to expose their body, but does that mean I should attend party, school, outings etc bare chested? The answer is capital "NO".

Their point(s) is that perverted souls should stop sexualising female body(breasst) no matter the outfit they wear or if they are nudee; same way females won't go "all gaga" or attempt rape if they see nudee male with big manhood or abs.
Even if American legalise it, it doesn't mean all feminists(women) would agree to it same way not all men flaunt their body; for example, some male celebrities do it, while others, find it childish.

So whatdaheck? Some people can't decipher something without going ballistic on Nigerian feminists because they are ignorant of the movement...
May I ask you a question? Please don't feel offended by it, it's just an innocent question: Are you an african? If you are did you grow up in Africa or elsewhere? I ask because, you sound too progressive and liberal-minded for an African man.
