TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Lawrence2291: 5:12pm On Aug 02, 2018
Finally, collected my passport today. I thank God for making this new adventure possible despite my lack of faith. Also, a BIG THANK YOU to every person here that responded to my worries after my interview and to all who took out time to provide people with all they need to know towards a high visa issuance success.

I had two interview

First Interview: June 30th 2018 - Denied
I was interviewed by one young white lady that never sits down in Abuja

Here is my transcript

VO: Your passport and i-20 ( She can't even greet like I'm her mate)
ME: Passed the document
VO: **Starts typing** what's your intent?
ME: Pardon
VO: What's your intent?
ME: Pardon ( I started thinking if I was deaf or my village people remembered me that day)
VO: What's your intent?
ME: I plan to pursue my masters in computer and information science with a specialization in (cuts me off)
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
ME: 4
VO: Name them?
ME: Mentioned all 4.
VO: Who is sponsoring this program?
ME: My Uncle.
VO: Hand me the pink paper saying Sorry, you are not eligible for the nonimmigrant visa to which you applied. The paper contains the reason for denial and you can reapply at any time after your circumstance has changed blah blah blah

Second Interview: July 25th 2018 - Approved
I was interviewed by one white guy in Abuja

Here is my transcript

VO: Your passport
ME: Passed it
VO: Your student visa application
ME: (Confused what he means and stared at him while waiting for possible clarity)
VO: Give me your i-20 ( In my mind i was like, is i-20 that hard to pronounce? Why complicate things)
ME: Passed the document
VO: You were denied visa to Canada few years ago, what happened? **Sets his hands for typing**
ME: (I dreaded this question being asked.. Was banned and rendered inadmissible to Canada) Yes, I was denied study visa because ( cuts me off while nodding his head )
VO: **waits for a long while while typing** Where did you do your undergraduate studies?
ME: **So So** University India
VO: How much did it cost you?
ME: 5000usd yearly exclusive of living expenses.
VO: Who paid for it?
ME: My Uncle
VO: **waits for a long while while typing** what are you going for now?
ME: I AM going for my masters study in Computer and information science with a concentration in information technology at etsu
VO: I see you got scholarship, who is paying for your living expenses
ME : My uncle
VO: oh same Uncle that paid for your undergraduate study?
Me: Yes ( At this point I felt a positive vibe of visa being approved)
VO: What does he do?
ME: He own a company where he deals with computer support and sale of computers and office equipments.
VO: **waits for a long while while typing** how long is this program?
ME: Roughly 2 years
VO: **waits for a long while while typing** what is your plan after graduation?
ME: After my studies, I plan to return home and with my updated knowledge on the latest practices of software engineering and network and information security apply for senior level position in my current company or seek for research intensive IT position in government agency like NITDA ( I expanded it). I plan to work for maximum of 5 years in this position while setting a stage to running my own IT company where I'd be dealing with creation of new generation secure and dependable enterprise systems to power most businesses in Nigeria while offering employment opportunities to Nigerians who wants to make a career in the field. I believe my program would help me achieve this goal.
VO: **waits for a long while while typing** What proof do you have that your living expenses would be taken care of?
ME: I have my sponsors personal and business statement of account.
VO: Give me his personal statement of account.
ME: I passed it
VO: I will be approving your visa. ( Passes two white papers). Paper contains how you will get back your passport and what you need to know before travel. But I'd hold on to your statement to run a thorough check. If found fraudulent, you will be deported even if you are in the states. Should I proceed with it?
ME: Sure no problem.
VO: Once again congratulation and have a great time in your Masters study.
ME: Thanks I appreciate. Bye

Went out dumbfounded and unable to contain the possibility of getting my visa despite my Canadian ban. But God made it happen anyway.

To the travel hopefuls
Nothing is impossible. Prepare well and be very confident till the very end. Whatever will be will be

I was interviewed in Abuja on 23rd of July. I was placed on AP and my visa was issued yesterday. My interview was very different even after I was well prepared and even took GRE and TOEFL, did consultation at EducationUSA and came on Nairaland for assistance. I have been denied USA B1/B2 visa twice in 2016. Here is my transcript;
VO: Hi good morning, how are you?
ME: Good morning, I’m good.
VO: Pass me your passport; I can see you’re going for a student visa. Pass your I-20 too.
ME: I did
VO: Why are you going to the USA?
ME: I’m going to Northwest Missouri state university to study masters in Agriculture.
VO: What do you intend doing after graduation?
ME: I intend working for a reputable agricultural organization such as (He cut me short)
VO: What University did you go to for your undergraduate degree?
ME: ****
VO: Who sponsored you?
ME: My dad
VO: Who is sponsoring you for your masters?
ME: My dad
VO: Do you have his account statement with you? If you do, pass it to me.
ME: I did and said it was printed last month because my dad and mum travelled to USA and Canada few weeks ago.
VO: Oh, You only have a little over 12million in this account
ME: (In my mind; Stop shouting my daddy’s balance now. lol) I said Yes, it is because he traveled but it’s not a problem.
VO: Where are your siblings?
ME: One in Nigeria, one in Canada and one in the USA
VO: Who is in the USA and what does he do?
ME: My brother, he is a student.
VO: Okay, how will your daddy cope since he’s still a student and this balance can only take care of like your first year in Uni?
ME: No, that’s not a problem at all; once my dad and mum get back everything will be sorted.
VO: Okay, where’s your old passport and I can see you went to Dubai last year.
ME: I didn’t come with it, yes I did.
VO: Okay, I will be approving your visa (gives me the white paper and a small slip) but I will hold onto your dads account statement to check if it is fraudulent. If it is, it will attract a ten year ban and it will affect you and also your brother in the USA and that wouldn’t look nice right?
ME: Don’t worry it’s not fraudulent, you can confirm it.
VO: Okay, you’ll get a feedback in some days.
ME: *Smiling* Thank you very much.
I honestly think it was God that did it. All the questions I had in mind that he will ask, he didn’t. I wish everyone aspiring to go to the USA all the best.
Bro, Congrats.. Welcome to America... Your transcript looks very similar to mine.. Will share mine tomorrow after collecting my passport.

Osiokoye:
Okay same as me, Abuja but my interview was on the 23rd of July. I'm hoping we will get a positive response soon.
Its taking rather too long.. When are you resuming studies? Masters or Bachelors? You should have gotten response by now. In my case, the VO told me i should pick my passport in 3 - 4 days time..

Anyway, It will come out positive for us.

It isn't strange, they only want to confirm if the statement of account that was submitted is fraudulent. if it isn't, your visa will be issued, if it is fraudulent the applicant will receive a 10 year ban. What embassy? Lagos or Abuja?
Abuja

It will probably change to Issued soon. I don't know why it is taking so long.
Okay..I hope it changes soon cause I have no time left to resume studies. Meanwhile, Im still concerned why the VO held back my sponsor's bank statement despite approving the visa. Its quite strange.

Good Day Guyz,

I have been a silent follower since last month before my first US student visa denial in JUNE 30 2018. I applied for another interview on the 25th July 2018 and the VO handed me two white papers saying my visa has been approved and that the paper contains instruction on how to get back my passport back and things I need to know before travel. But he held back my bank statement.

Today I tracked my visa application status on CAEC website and it says "Administrative Processing" and last update was still 25th July 2018(My Interview Date).

Please anyone with similar case or who knows what this means..?

Thank You..

Send pm... You dont have too much time on your hands to play with though!... Need to act fast!!

In any case, i have said before to a few others... The only way i know that have worked in the time past is to present your issue/case to a solicitor (preferably a criminologist)... They will review and send you briefs which will then form the content of your personal response.
There is a good chance you could be pardoned and only refused TRV... However it is not a guarantee!!
While NOT encouraging such acts... I still am sorry that happened to you....
Regards.
Pls Folaroyal check your mail..I just sent you a message..Dont mind the length though

Good Morning All,

Ive been a silent follower of this thread after I submitted my application for studies on October. I must say you all are doing a nice job especially for experienced member providing others with solutions and useful information.

However, I got this mail few days ago from CIC,

I have reviewed your application and documents you submitted in its support. Subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the Regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.

I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:

16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.

In the current application package, you submitted a bank statement purportedly issued by Zenith Bank that has been determined to be fraudulent

Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. A finding of such inadmissibility would render you inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years according to section 40(2)(a):

40(1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation (a) for directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act

40(2) The following provisions govern subsection (1): (a) the permanent resident or the foreign national continues to be inadmissible for misrepresentation for a period of five years following, in the case of a determination outside Canada, a final determination of inadmissibility under subsection (1) or, in the case of determination in Canada, the date the removal order is enforced.

I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to this information. I will afford you fifteen (15) days from the date of this letter to make any representations in this regard. Please use the address noted on this letter for all correspondence, and clearly indicate your file number. If you do not respond to this request within the time outlined above, your application will be assessed based on the information available, which will likely result in a refusal.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

Please experts in the house, advice me on what to do. Im confused seeing this email...

Thanks
