If u read all this stories, u will find out that all/most are same. It happened to me at CMS almost opposite the cathedral church, a little further towards the CSS bookshop. I intended to change $100. After negotiation, he handed me the naira notes, but alas, the money was not the agreed amount. I had already given him the $$$. So, in anger i said i was not interested again. He said ok, he gave me back my $$$. I did not bother to check the $$$ very well, i now decided to go and meet mallams for an exchange, it was then i was told that the $$$ i had was fake, the colour of the $$$ had changed. I looked for those guys, but could not find them again. Omo, i wan cry. Omo, those guys are fast. As edgecoutin rightly said most of them are YORUBAS. I think were most make mistakes is the issue of returning the naira back for recount. One shld collect the balance from them, and count all over again before giving them the $$$. But by and large, it is most safe to go into banks or licensed money changers to prevent fraud. |
@nazzynon, Hi there!!! It has been a long time i have posted any topic on this site. But, far and large i have enjoyed your brillant post to this topic. |

@spikecylinder, You hve said it all. @thundathug, I share ur views also. |
Mine is Similar to all i hve read so far!!! I was going to church on a good sunday morning around V/I extension, Lagos when this guy walked to me and said that there is this sailor that came from, i cannot remember the name of the country again, that he has some foreign currencies in boxes and that he would like to take me there to see for myself. I willingling followed him there (somewhere going towards lekki). B/4 that, another guy joined and the first guy said the new guy is d sailors bother. Anyway sha, na im i follow them go the place oooooh. Mind u i was supposed to go to church. On getting dere, i was taken to one ramshakle building and lo and behold i saw the boxes in brown wrappers. I was told that now that i hve seen it, though i did not open to confirm the documents, i was told that we would need to share the amt we would contribute to so as to buy chemical to wash the items so that we would split the money among ourselves. Anyway sha, my greedy mind was already calculating how i will buy car, buy baffs, etc, from the proceeds of my share. I was told that someone would hve to buy the chemical from chevron oil company. Do u know that i had to put down my sch. fees as my share, and also had to take some money from my mum"s bag just to wash the nonsense and get my share. I was fooled to understand that my share could as much as two thousand dollars. I was already calculating the exchange rates to Naija money. Anyway, one thing led to another, after dropping all the money i had and still yet nothing was forth coming, i wanted to put up a fight that wetin happen after dropping all this money the guys were still giving me one excuse or the oda for the delay in buying the chemical to wash the foreign currency . The guys put up a strong restraint that i shld try and bring more money so that they can wash the items. It was at this point that i had to confide to my mum, by the way she was surprised and annoyed that i could fall for such antics. Anyway, she abuse me die. But i thank God i did not loose my life there. As a previous poster said, if one is greedy, not contented, one would surely fall for this antics. |
Surprised dat even ladies know much about soccer. |
