InvestmentRetirement Plan by layi(op): 5:36pm On Jan 13, 2006
We've heard about the 410(k) plan. It might not be applicable to us here in Nigeria because of the income status here ..a far cry from that obtainable in the USA. What should be the target of the average Nigerian?
How best do u think one should plan for retirement regardless of location?
FashionLove Your Feet! Home Pedicure Tips by layi(op): 5:29pm On Jan 13, 2006
Before putting on those sexy, comfortable open toe shoes make sure your feet skin is in good condition. With these easy steps you too will have silky feet. So go ahead get ready to do your own pedicure.

Soak your feet for 10-15 minutes in warm water containing Epsom salt or foot soak (i.e koun if u understand Yoruba)

Use a pumice stone, exfoliating scrub to gently scrub the soles of your all over your feet and heel to remove dead skin.

Dry your feet.

Trim your toenails and push back cuticles.

Rinse feet once again and pat dry.

Massage feet with plenty of foot lotion. Body lotion, petroleum jelly (vaseline) or cream can be use to replace foot lotion.

Wrap feet on plastic bags and cover for at least 15 minutes.

Paint toe nails. Make sure to apply at least 2 coats of nail polish and a top coat of clear nail polish to give it more shine. Give it enough time to dry, before putting on any shoes. If you put on shoes too soon your pedicure will get ruin.

Enjoy your self given & low cost pedicure
Christianity EtcRe: Praying To God by layi(m): 4:37pm On Jan 13, 2006
Firstly
Go to churches all over the word. Christians don't have to Kneel down to Pray. Its not a rule. They do it just as a sign of obeisance/submission/respect.
Not only religion but even some cultures (like yorubas) expect the girls to kneel and guyz prostrate - bow when meetin an elder. Its just an outward symbol/expression of an inner feeling. U can show urs whihever way u like.

Secondly
When Jesus Prays, he not only kneels but sometimes fall to his face and at other times, he prays standing. However Jesus prayed to God with a distinct intimacy. God was his Father and he was God's son. There was a childlike, filial quality to his prayer. It wasnt a ritual

Jesus prayed regularly, his first disciples recalled. He prayed before decisive moments, beginning with his baptism and as he faced his passion and death. He prayed in times of human weakness and death, as he did at the grave of Lazarus (he didnt kneel down). He frequently prayed to give thanks. His prayer was steady, thankful, and confident that God's will was for his good.

Jesus Though us how to pray. he thot us 3 things
First, that true prayer should come from the heart. He prayed from within, not with just words or gestures. His prayer was not based only on feelings or passing emotions. Prayer comes from within, beyond level of feelings, from ourselves. Sometimes prayer from the heart takes the form of words, at other times it may be like his own wordless cry.

Secondly, prayer is fed by faith. Jesus prayed with an unwavering faith in his heavenly Father, a faith that lasted till his death. He taught us to pray also with childlike faith in God, believing that our prayers are heard by One who loves us.

Thirdly, prayer should be steady and persevering as his prayer was, even when no answer comes or when no relief is in sight. "Watch and Pray," he says, "Seek and knock," till the door that reveals God's holy will be opened.

He never taught us to always kneel before praying cuzz he himself prayed several times without kneeling

When the disciples asked him to teach how to pray, read his response in Luke 11:1-4. He never told them to always kneel.

"Christianity is a way of Life not a Religion."

Nice idea. I don't support turning it into a paid site especially because of the kids on the land.

Those of us who are well-to-do can also support financially. Nothing wrong in that.

FashionRe: 10 Natural Ways To Achieve A Smooth Skin by layi(m): 5:22pm On Jan 12, 2006
I can 'authoritatively' tell u that the regimen works. Plus natural stuffs like this are way better than the chemicals u buy, lizzy. So dont be scared of having problems. The treat the skin naturally by improoving the functions. They do not force the skin to 'look' smooth like the chemicals. This make u age quickly cos once the sking looses it elasticity. it becomes difficult to get it back (naturally).

I vote for "herbal products" anyday.

Christianity EtcRe: Purpose Of Human Existence? by layi(m): 5:12pm On Jan 12, 2006
God is perfect. Therefore He could not have created the world for His own benefit, since there is nothing that He could have added to His own perfection. Rather, He created the world for our sake, i.e. in order to share His perfect goodness with us.
Now, His perfect goodness means that He created us in such a way that by so doing, He was doing not only good but the best possible good. On the surface, this ought to have been achieved by creating us as close to Him, to perfect goodness, as possible.
But that would have made us very different to God in one crucial respect. He would be a creator of goodness; we would be a created goodness. He would be an active bestower of good; we would be spiritual robots.
Therefore, God made a two-stage process, with two separate environments. He created us so that at first we would be a certain distance away from Him. As a result we would have freedom of choice and, should we choose good, we would be active creators of good in our own right. The environment that is perfect for this is this world. Then, having acquired that crucial attribute of being a creator of good we move on, with this attribute, to the next world. That world is perfectly suited for being as close to God with respect to all our other attributes.
We are now ready to receive the maximum good, of basking in and deriving pleasure from God’s magnificent radiance
So GentlBlunt, Our presence here is just 1 of God 2 stage plan. How we fair here will ultimate tell if we move into the second.

If she's not disturbed by it...u shouldnt. Height is a trivial issue. It does not affect relationships except u want it to.

RomanceRe: How Do You Approach a Lady for a Relationship? by layi(m): 2:48pm On Jan 12, 2006
do u guys actually know the true meaning of love. layi, is saying u meet a girl and tell her u love her.u feel love doesn't mean u should say it..u re definitely spoiling your chances with that girl..and at the end of the day all u would see is her back
...another product of ignorance above.

U keep saying peeps dont know what they are saying when u are obviously the one veering of course.

U mean u r spoling ur chance with a girl u love because u told her "u love her".

So all u do is play along and assume she's ur lover. If thats ur own method, u wont go far?

We all need "verbal affirmation".
Christianity EtcRe: Praying To God by layi(m): 2:29pm On Jan 11, 2006
cheesy I assume u want to link that as well with the "rukuh" observed when muslims pray.
Well christians kneel as a sign of obeisance. They close their eyes to avoid distractions. They are not rituals anyway because we can pray with or without kneeling down, with or without shutting our eyes. It depends. We can pray even while walking. Our bodies are his temple. What matters most his what we pray.
Prayer to the christain is not a ritual done to appease a god but a fellowship you have with your Father.
CareerRe: Having Second Thoughts About Becoming A Doctor by layi(m): 2:24pm On Jan 11, 2006
I just finished my O&G (obstetrics and Gyneacology) class i.e 5th yr. I can tell u that the medical school has actually passed through me.
Before entering medical school, I could NOT stand the sight of blood. In fact the first time i got to the anatomy lab (yr 2) to work on a cadaver, i almost fainted at d sight (jut corpse...no blood though). Now i stay wit doctors when surgery is beign performed.
Anyway i said that to say this: u'll apreciate medicine more as u go through it. We all have mixed feeling at first. I was initaially confused as per field i want to specialize in but now i've made up my mind because i'm now kinda averse in almost all aspects of (tropical) medicine so i know which would be better for me.
Studying Medicine is hectic though but sweet. wink
WebmastersRe: How To Start A Web Hosting/Development Company by layi(m): 2:02pm On Jan 11, 2006
I dont think its worth it now. U'll need to have dedicated servers powered round the clock. With the erractic power supply in Nigeria..u'll be running huge cost and i dont know how u intend to still remain competitive on the global scale.

Anyway i'ld advise u start by reselling webspace. I do that. Though u'll need extensive advertisement/marketing to break even but its better than startin ur own host company in Nigeria.

Well, nothing ventured. nothing gained. Contact yamaguchi to help u set up a web host company.
