If you have truly secured your F1 visa, I am sure the name of your school would have been printed on your visa. So if you intend to change your school; the best advice is to get to the US first, then you transfer from the present school to another school of your choice..
Read the 3rd page of your I-20 for further information.

Thanks guys

This has been explained in a previous post....and i am too lazy to retype grin

The only thing i can add, inlight of the recent happening with Indian students been refused entry back after a holiday . Make sure the "another uni " is an accredited and not under the table School. .....i would even recommend starting the change after you cross POE so u dont hear story. Just go early at least within 30 days , cross and then initiate the change

Joking apart, I have a terrible critical reading skill which made my GRE verbal score suffer. That explains why I couldn't fathom the gists of brightify's message and yours, or maybe the messages were actually intended for an informed person. I really need this help.
Again, the issue is I got Visa to go to GSU Atlanta, but I wanna enroll at CSU Ohio for the same Fall entry. How do I proceed? Please, in a simple language. I am a johny-come-lately on the amazing thread.

brightify:
if you don't want to have any issue or story, get a connecting flight ticket going to your school,in case the CBP officer ask you then you present it,after you cross you can now make your way to what ever school you want to attend

Thanks. However, I didn't get the essence of your message. "In case the CBP.........you present it.." What do I present? My case or my documents? And after I cross where?
I suggest you treat me as an ignoramus here so that I can enjoy detailed explantion.

Actually the another univ is Cleveland State University. Can I go to this university first on the pretext that I wanna visit a friend or an uncle or somebody?

Hello guys, I got a visa to go to Georgia state univ. Is it possible for me to go to another univ in another state for the same Fall entry? If yes, how do I go about it? Help me out please.

Addendum:
Know your program requirements now if you were helped by an agent before you face the embassy.
Appologies for some strange words in my sentences, enemies planted them there, so you don't fray your nerves when you encounter the eyesore.
I wont be surprised if this post also suffers the same sickness as the earlier one.

My visa was approved Thursday, 6:30 a.m appointment. I was interviewed at Window5, and the interview lasted between 2-3 minutes. It was so quick that people with short attention span wouldn't notice what transpired between the VO and me. The VO at this Window didn't ask his interviewees the generic questions like that. " What is the program requirements, and tell me about the program", were his next statements after greeting you. I noticed other VOs were asking almost the same questions, so I concluded that they had met to come up with this alien questions. The VO denied the guy he interviewed immediately before me because he didn't know the program requirements and couldnt say any a salient thing about the program. He bothered the VO a bit in his repeated attempts to drive home a point. Struggling to redeem his losing battle, the guy incoherence and inconsistencies ironically grew worse, and frustration was all over him. Worse still he was not concealing his disappointment (actions and interjections were too obvious). May God save us from calamities. After he was overwhelmed, he resorted to begging and delaying tactics of asking to repeat a clear and loud question. The VO beckoned to me to step forward after he ultimately told him to reapply for visa whenever he knows his program well. I tarried for a bosses, waiting for the guy to please himself.

VO: GOOD MORNING (encouraging countenance, he just came back from a battle)
ME: GOOD MORNING,SIR
VO: HOW DID YOU ABOUT THE SCHOOL?
ME: internet, I searched for top 100 universities for my program. Another question cut me short.
VO: WHAT'S THE PROGRAM ALL ABOUT?
ME: I will do course work, research work and there is an international exchange program to either China or Switzerland.
VO: WHO IS YOUR SPONSOR?
ME: My father
VO: WHAT DOES HE DO?
ME: He is a structural engineer, has a construction company where he builds caponies for gas and petrol stations( my fairy tale was interrupted)
VO: TAKE THIS........( I don't know the rest because I was inattentive now)

Gratitude to God? Definitely YES.
Gratitude to Nairalanders? YES. The weak and powerful ones, no veterans, novices, wannabes and scammers.
