I just dey test new stuff. Sometimes God does His things. I was able to luckily grab one yesterday. That one fit easily retail 50K.

It could be demoralizing. But that's part of the game. One learns detachment, pain, patience, consistency, planning, execution and foresight. Most importantly detachment...I don't think heart break fit do Domainer anything cause everyday na broken heart, seeing that lovely name grabbed at the last minute.

Imagine over 250 domainers on top all the names on my list...all of them go go fight themselves for Dropcatch. Last last the house always wins at the expense of domain regging wars.

Then anyone wey dem no grab na the junk wey remain for newbies & other domainers. Then, once in a while, there would be some diamond hanging which their eyes manage not to see or somehow the universe decides say make person buy one or two names for the junk portfolio accumulated overtime of regging the low hanging fruits. ahaaa!!

Too many life lessons to learn from domaining...even the deleted list wey guyz dey take hold body which has managed to escape auctions-closeouts dem no leave am rest! Omorr! domainers dey brutal! Dem no dey take break ehhh!..na just small crumb person need na...just small oooh!

Since the exit of Dan, people have been complain. You saw mine. So Spaceship (not Namecheap) coming to the rescue is the best things that has happened since the dearth of Dan.

For now I'm using Atom. It has all I want for a lander. The only thing missing: lead import, their page using cloudflare which sometimes can take forever in a verification loading-imagine an end user stuck in the cloudflare loading and lastly Make Offer Button is farther away from Buy It Now. And lastly no stats.

As for Spaceship they still use a feature that made me leave Daaz. No single page check out. To buy or Make an Offer for a domain you have to first create an account. Although, Daaz Buy Now is a single page with user biodata which is dope, but their Make Offer isn't.

Why DAN still stands out till today, they first collect the money before buyer create account. Dan is like pro-seller! To make offer..just your email and biodata. Once seller accept..single page checkout capturing the credit card details and other biodata. Same for buy now.

That's why you see people complaining of a drop cause all market place lack that feature except Atom.

I said it here some days ago that Spaceship is going to Dan2.0 and the good thing is that the owner will not sell. I also said that it would become a major threat to GoDaddy. The reason I said it is because I have followed the journey of the founder, who is also the owner of Namecheap. The founder is a quiet disruptor. He takes time to build his companies. One of his strongest edge is customer service.

Namecheap-Spaceship is the second domain distribution after GoDaddy when one take cognisance of the expired list. It isn't a new thing or just happening now. The only thing, maybe this time, they may overtake GoDaddy in the nearest future to be one.

nope! You're good as long as you don't outbound. Infringement fear comes if you outbound a trademark name to an end user using the trademark.

Looks very great and promising. Spaceship ticks the boxes for inbound deal.

Most wahala for trademarks is if you go and outbound to the end user maybe having an obvious trademark. Like you go outbound PeugeotCar to Peugeot company.

Those brokers are inexperienced. The last person who handled my sale was writing like a secondary school kid and the sale never happened. I later moved the domain name to spaceship and the buyer came back but still didn't pay. I canceled and increased the price on Afternic and Spaceship. The weyrey went to buy it via Godaddy at a much higher price

I no doubt you very evident from my stalled leads and the way this broker handled it. Anyone that can make $1K offer definitely can max out at 2 or 2.5K. A whole broker that I was thinking na bosses na initial offer end am.

If not for my first experience. I go counter come tell broker what to do..cause there was an option in the menu to counter. But wetin come be the work of broker sef.

I didn't even know there was a not so obvious menu called 'Leads'.

Things have changed over the years, and even domainers who have made much bigger sales are complaining. Now, add to the way GoDaddy brokers handle domain brokerage, and you will see there is a problem.

This GoDaddy broker thing sha, I have like 6 stalled leads this 2025 with one that converted for $1K initial offer for a mid 4fig name. I thought the broker will at least try to settle at the middle..the broker dey act somehow. Being my first encounter with Afternic-broker deal, I just sharply accept the deal at least it's a portfolio of 30 inbound names and got the name for $8.88, so why not.

Maybe I should have made a 'counter offer' and a message for the broker but I just told the broker to get a good deal and he said they can't go beyond the initial $1K offer. All na learning sha.

The domain was initially transferred by me to unstoppable just 13 days ago, it sold early and had to transfer out to buyer's GoDaddy account.

I did detokenize and all. Even got the Auth code. Sent it to Atom.

Atom said they've initiated the process on their end that I can fasten the process from my own end by approving the transfer. I enter the unstoppable dashboard I no see anything to approve. I check transfer out section nothing dey show. Although the domain still showing on the dashboard, showing unlocked...when I enter the detokenization place again...I dey see 'ineligible to transfer 60days'....abi that one no follow make I just wait. Thanks

And would it be possible for Atom to have said the transfer process went through on their end even tho the domain maybe under 60days. Finger crossed.

I agree a million times with all what you wrote. But the damage has already been done.

I remember during the days how they first attacked crypto...when we were using Quidax to receive money from DAN.

Then this dollar fintechs...then Naira floating. The problem is some bank rates are even higher than the fintechs. Traditional banks will feel the heat unless if they get bulk of their monies from other means that's why they're less concerned about the POS thing and even d dollar cards and they keep declaring profit.

One should know that the Nigerian project is more of profit declaration than providing efficient services that everyone can enjoy.

Look at network providers, cable TVs, cosmetics-- you will wonder whether SON is working. Every body dey do wetin he like without checks.

Even this pos of a thing that some proponents are complaining of that it was fintechs that pioneered it... From my recollection, I can remember vividly that it was the traditional banks that started giving people POS at first before maybe the fintechs took advantage of the idea and brought theirs with a lower commission. And we have them now in proliferation.

What we should ask ourselves is that, is Central bank, the traditional banks and the Nigerian govt ready to make ATM machines accessible across the country.

All those long queues, long hours- standing to withdraw, the fights in the queue, lack of reliability of the machine, slow booting, ATM hanging cards, old operating system are they ready to provide fast efficient machines. We all know the answer. It's not about ease and comfort for the citizen, is all about making things very difficult for the masses.

Fintechs will continue to thrive-- if they are the only option that offer ease.

For us mixed feelings. Because the naira-dollar has been floated. Any bank can put any rate they like at any microseconds for receiving or buying. So no difference with these new fintechs.

In fact these new fintechs like Grey might be better because you will be able to see the instantaneous rate they would charge you. But bank fit go do you 2K per naira-dollar on the process of buying because how do one know their rate at the instance of transactions. Do I need to go to their branch and check the ticker, check Google;;;;;; cause the thing no dey show for their apps!

My sales data shows otherwise for Geo names. Your outbound efforts(knowledge, strategy etc) and God is the only thing that determines propensity of sale (my own view).

But there is usually a peak in The August, ember, January months...cause most people want to improve or make changes for their businesses.

Even this DAN sunsetting shouldn't affect your Geo sales if you're really hardcore. Cause market is really open. This time around I no get that ginger. Everything just seems monotonous to me. Maybe if you're doing one thing for long. I need new ginger! My sales has gone low. I'm gradually drifting from geos, not acquiring new names & exploring other possibilities in the industry.

Like last month for the first time in 4yrs+ I had a month with no sale. This month I had one already. Not bothered.

One day by the grace of God, I'll paste all my Geo sales on this page.

So don't have it in the back of your mind there's a bad month.

Image below(number of geo sales), if Summer was calculated from June to September,,,, those months with 1 sales were zero outbound effort months. Aug 2024 would have been a huge months for geos for me cause I had some bad boyz in the portfolio but DAN happened. I had migrated to Daaz...captured 1 sale.

Most times data can't tell the real picture. Some months one is ill, family problem etc. Just register and outbound as simple as that. If sale go come e go come.

Paying taxes is not really the problem but the accountability (or lack of it) of those in charge. In a so-called democracy, the ordinary man is suppressed and doesn't have a voice. A country where the masses vote and a few people in court determines the winner.
