Never read any of her books once I knew she is one of those we are Igbo and we are special types.... Never saw any of her beautiful writeups about the decay and underdevelopment in the east. For me, the Oba does not want PDP and their decay to befall Lagos and he has no apology for that period! |
Nothing about the current administration sickens me more than the shameless displace of 1930's locomotive engines and coaches that you only find in Museums in countries that know what they are doing. Nigerians must be so 'good deprived' to appreciate these nonsense, when Japan built their first bullet trains in the 1960s, we are still being 'lured in the room' with locomotives in 2015. I have had the privilege of riding in some of the the best light and long range rail systems around the world and I know there is NOTHING special about the engineering beyond laying solid tracks(underground, on the ground on over land), powering it with stable electricity and regular maintenance. So why on earth are we all celebrating mediocrity. They all drive in 2016 cars and giving us 1930 trains and we are celebrating. Something is indeed wrong with us Nigerians! |
I must confess, Tinubu is as high as f**K but he held it together though! No matter the situation change has come! I feel the new wave of leadership! |
If he likes he should meet with all area boys in Lagos and Ibadan, One thing is sure he is going to Otuoke come Feb. 14! |
Prisoners at Will I am a prisoner in my own home The only difference is that I have the keys My bars are cut to exactly to my size The walls I built with my own biceps The Parish priest blessed the foundations Even my enemies celebrated the completion I am the hunted in my own jungle A prey to the mouth I fed with grace Edible game to the spouses of those I freely give Their dane riffles, I polish with my tax The pallets we casted in my fathers foundry Now like I chicken I have gone for the roast Suddenly, I am told to lock up My jailers thousand of miles away but, Sit in your cell! He screams, or be fed to the desert dogs The fear of the dogs or the screams of the jailer Both the source of eternal fright Just last week the dogs eat them all in onak! Now I have to dig my borrow deeper With a thousand escape routes to puzzle the hunters Down! Down!! I dug till I found myself in the zoo At least, here the hunters are out of bounds But thought of the forest still makes me wonder How many prisoners at will will ever get their freedom! The Wait Yesterday I took the long dreaded leap I saw the white beautiful masquerade suck my blood With a mischief in her eyes she draws a pint Searching through my face as if for a clue Little did I know that I was in for a spin The day was long and weary The night was filled with thoughts like a philosopher Suddenly I realized this could mean an end The beginning of the end with a date But could this be true I asked my pillow Alas it was too late to use latex Today the wait will be over by noon When again the masquerade will have its chance Gbam! Gbam!! My heart beats like the Konga In my hands I hold the verdict Oh I hope the jury considered my innocence How I wish I knew the Judge Maybe I might walk home free Suddenly my knowledge of words and letters failed As I scrolled down the scroll of death and the air in my car cold like Moscow I noticed I was socked in furious sweat N-E-G-A-T-I-V-E I murmured to myself Suddenly I felt like I was alive again Finally the Wait is over! Your ignorance stinks, metro rails all over the world competes for space in urban cities, across mall, over and under buildings and even under water....seek knowledge of things before hitting your key boards! justi4jesu: Reallyy.....Are u sure of this @OP |
Hunger Games Here you go! for life, a bag of rice Just don’t forget to drop your rights Nothing like having food down your throats Who cares about what goes on in your thoughts? Ten kilograms of Thailand quality gains Poverty and hunger does a lot to the brains Please make sure you stamp our logo The beginning of a dreaded famished game of ludo After all I will get nothing if I don’t take it The first half of the game of those who steal it Four years today with no cooling break Cheering on a nation without any stake Even in nuso I heard he took to the streets Players who have mastered the treats Watch it! Or else you will drown in your tears When the final countdown tear like bears My rice is finished and the house is empty The game is far from over and it’s such a pity The farms now overgrown with weeds The cows not suitable for the breeds Oh I hate the hunger games! |

Thank God somebody if finally speaking out. This decision by the Federal Government to increase tariffs on imported vehicles is just satanic! First, this will immediately destroy the business of thousands of people who make a living importing, clearing and selling these cars. The current car sales industry in Nigeria is not a creation of government but based on the ingenuity of many Nigeria and home and abroad who have found unique ways to make a living legally, so why take that away without even measuring impact. This proposal is causing a lot o concern already in Canada, US and Germany where most of this 'Tokunbo' cars come from. Secondly, how many government officials and politicians will use the useless Chinese cars currently assembled in Nigeria? let them lead the way and we will follow. Lastly how many Nigerians can afford to buy brand new cars, even in developed countries like the US and Canada most people still buy used cars, so what create an artificial market where there is no demand? The decision by the government championed by the minister of Finance only shows how shallow our leaders think and how trivial they look at serious matters that affect the people......In 2015 WE MUST SENT THIS JOKERS OUTTA TOWN!!! |
Ewan Agayin and White Bread.....Lagos i miss thee! |
Clap for your self o jare...you have done very well....in simple plain English, you are obviously not from the SW, I have never seen any topic about anything meaningful coming out from where you are from, talk less of people having the privilege to criticize it, just sit there and be writing thesis about what Lagos or Fashola could have or should have done. Just like the SW was way ahead of the rest of Nigeria after the 1st Republic, the same is repeating itself...stop this Lagos Crusade, If you don't like it, take time like you have taken here and write straight to his office....Ode! When any issue on Lagos or Fashola come up all of you will suddenly turn analyst..sooo irritating!!! Uyi Iredia: Miles ahead and far behind Johanessburg. In fact, that's too much. Cairo, damn, again too much. Accra will do. Better light, less corruption and better name. |
For Ken Saro-Wiwa 16 years the tears still flow freely The blood of the brave still drips like crude Hearts still heavy, and hands still akimbo Men still weep and women still wailing Streets still deserted and soldiers still watching A life lived and groomed for the slaughter The struggle still rages in the delta Shell is still spilling and murdering the fishes The politicians still playing chess with the blocks The road to Ogoni still as treacherous as Syria The Bakassi people are now Nigeria Refugees Our schools till float from June-June Now all we have are Militants Even the politician have started to give amnesty The NDDC have failed to develop anything We have political appointments and then disappointments Shell has agreed to pay compensations in Billions The son of the soil is now the president Dear Ken, nothing has changed since you left Our comrades have gone back to the trades Only now we are shipped in slavery on our own land Rise up Ken, let’s match to Abuja Your struggle, your life and your legacy still lives For you today I drop my hat, 16 years and it still hurts! -2012. |
Your Disease is Incurable.....Simple is called 'blindness of the brain' your analysis is simple laughable! Bigot! Fadenitan: Point of correction,in 2011 election hw many hausa/fulani cast their vote for GEJ.Tinubu is not a yoruba leader,he is a leader of political party and if i may ask hw many yoruba leaders are supporting APC,a clear case is Ondo state. Most of you commenting here are those APC members dt are blind to see any good thing from jonathan gov‘t.We know what you pple are but u should know dt not all d yoruba‘s are APC member and supporters of Buhari & Tinubu, come 2015 by d grace of God,GEJ will defeat ur candidate flat down.Jonathan is GOD‘S PROJECT, imagine he comes from d smallest state & glory of all land, with all d opposition in 2011,they shall gather but they shall not prevail.Fire burn them. |
I read the write up below in 2011 and Can't help but wonder if the writer still feels the same about the points he raised below, in light of the kind of president we have at the moment! REASONS WHY BUHARI CAN'T BE MY PRESIDENT. 1. Stubborn, Undiplomatic, Arrogant & Intolerant Buhari was so high handed that he gave himself and his officials immunity even from truthful reporting. as he jailed journalists and intimidates the media as a whole. That tyrannical legislation shows the essence of his intolerance. 2. Buhari as an Islamic extremist & tribalist Buhari called earlier this year for Muslims to vote at the next presidential elections only for someone who would defend their faith. saying “I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria,” adding: “God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country.” He said Sharia is a legal responsibility which God has given us, within the context of one Nigeria, to continue to uphold the practice of Sharia wholeheartedly, and to educate non-Muslims. All these are extremist religious views which could undo the unity of the country. All for voting along religious lines 3. He is a coup plotter He aborted the life of our Second Republic but did not find a path for us. Buhari ruled Nigeria from a coup in December 1983 to his ouster in 1985(when most of his present supporters were either toddlers or unborn) 4. Disregard for judiciary Refused to testify at the Oputa panel. Was one of the generals who treated a Commission of Enquiry (the Oputa Panel) with disdain. 5. Abacha’s ally He simply tells us Abacha didnt steal money: On the 10th anniversary of Abacha's demise, Buhari said that Abacha stole nothing from Nigeria! Despite millions of Dollars recovered from banks around the world and the Abacha family. 6. Tribalist/Anti Corruption Bias While Shagari (the President who actually headed the government) was in a very nice cosy house in IKOYI, Dr Ekwume, his vice was locked up in a prison (kirikiri). The self-acclaimed anti-corruption ‘star’ in 1984 (General Buhari) exhibited double standard in public administration by allowing in 52 suit cases suspected to be filled with hard currency through his ADC without passing through the customs check point for the mandatory custom clearance. This was a likely case of money laundering and we wonder what moral right such a candidate has to talk about anti- corruption. Atiku was the Customs Officer who stood firmly against the entry of the contravening baggage. 7. Spent Individual Buhari is will be 85years after 2 terms, what new ideas has he got to contribute? Nigeria has gone beyond military Koboko, this is 2011 not 1983(when most of his present supporters were either toddlers or unborn). 8. Human Right Abuser. Her terrified us with whips and gave soldiers(rank & file) the power to beat us with koboko and boots in the name of War Against Indiscipline. 9. Anti-democratic Buhari as a military ruler specifically forbade all public discussion of a return to civilian, democratic rule. 10. Tyrant Journalist who reported any issue that embarrassed the military government would be sent to jail, even if the report was true.(two journalists – Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabor were jailed) Death sentence for drug traffickers(Sharia Law), no matter the quantity of drugs trafficked.several drug peddlers who committed the offense before the law was passed into law were publicly executed. in spite of the public outcry that the decree was against natural justice. |
