As you suggested..... Who are you? That everyone should go by your suggestions..

She's observedly opinionated, and doesn't seem to realise tht opinions are merely opinions.

It's not necessarily an absolute. Should not be imposed.

Tell her that the calls and conversations have become a little bit uncomfortable for you. Say you wish you could be of help, but sadly you seem to have reached the limit to your comfort level and watch to see if she will not pull it back herself or even go out to seek conversation elsewhere. undecided

I think it immature to simply ghost friends when honesty is the best policy and will go a long way in helping then understand what is wrong and realize what needs to be fixed and by whom. undecided

If it turns out she has in fact developed feelings for you in the time you both have been in touch, by telling her your truth, she will know to nip it in the bud asap rather than let it wallow. undecided

She will accuse him of making insinuations.

Things may genuinely be totally innocent at this stage. And she may be naive.

So talking about being uncomfortable would be misconstrued... as though he's accusing her of something. Or that he's himself developing feelings for her.

He won't be ghosting. He'll simply be gradually creating a distance. RESPECTFULLY.

Know your limits and don't get too attached.. she's bound to like you cos you're her husband's close friend but don't take advantage of that to sleep with her. Some guys do take advantage of that trust to bed their friend's wives but it's not nice.

There's no need being careful. The situation can quickly become compromising.

He should simply create a wide berth.

Well, I can't advise you against giving cos it is divine. As you are giving, just ensure you are also investing. That is all i can say

I'm not investing.

I should do something differently this year.

I'll stick to offerings & tithes.
And be very proportionate about other kind of church donations.

As for family & friends. I'll have to exercise tough love until I've sorted out my own needs.

I think it depends how you spend the money.

I knew a lady back in the day. Immediately she got her salary, she would send the entire lot to her family back in Africa then she would be begging money to eat and pay her bills.

Her landlord chucked her out then she began squatting on her friend's sofas before her eyes opened.

Another real life story: A church was doing fundraising and a woman wanted to give but had nothing. She gave the church the keys and documents to her house. The church came and chucked the family out so they became homeless.

In your giving, be wise.

Sad. Really sad.
Religion / Re: Do I Lack Discretion In My Giving by LegitGirl(f): 8:01am On Apr 06, 2022
Steep:

The motive of your giving and the condition of your heart matters more.
In the early church there were many who sold all that they had and laid it at the apostles feet. And Again the apostles were true servants of christ not greedy folks.

When your giving is not forced, when it is done freely and joyfully and done out of faith, then what you did is commendable.
But if you decide to give a part and attend to your needs it also is acceptable.

Thanks.

The motive is right. Always borne out of love, and consideration.

For the tithe, it's borne of the thought that I owe it to God... He enabled me to earn this money... I don't want spiritual devourers causing my earnings to waste.

For church projects... I want to be able to contribute significantly towards the advancement of the kingdom. But I think I end up doing too much.

The voice in my head which I've always believed to be the Holy Spirit always asks so much of me. Usually all that I have. undecided

I don't discuss washing of plates and surnames.

Does that mean you're fine with whatever outcome?

Or that you already have the status quo expectations (women for domestic chores...woman takes your name)?

Religion / Do I Lack Discretion In My Giving by LegitGirl(f): 4:06pm On Apr 05, 2022
Straight to the point.

I'm starting to feel like I give out too much of my money.

I get money, and I give a bigger percentage of it out, either as tithe, or to sort out one family problem or the other.

I feel like I give more than I keep.

I saved some amount of money last year, and I wiped my account clean... gave everything out.

I tithe everything I earn... even bonuses and commission.

I make financial vows... give towards church projects.

So I think I've generally experienced favour in life, but then again, I've given more than I've kept.

Is this a psychological problem of some sort?

I've started wondering if I would have more in terms of savings and assets if I didn't give so much out.

But I also wonder if I'd have enjoyed the favours and growth I've enjoyed if I've always kept more to myself?

There are so many things that I want that I cannot get right now, but if I had kept the bulk of my money, I'd have had more readily available cash.

It's confusing.

No sane woman remains in a toxic relationship or marriage same way a sane man will not remain in a toxic marriage. undecided

You're too emphatic with your opinions. Lots of married people, men and women, have forgiven partners who cheated and continued with the marriage. You're saying they're all insane and got esteem issues?

No, they're not. People have different motivations.

Yes, I will recommend the matrix over the Civic for personal reasons.

However, the civic is not a bad choice.

Okay, thanks.

They must never show a preference.

The Civic is a nice ride, very economic just like the Corolla. Maintenance can be very affordable as well.

I have one for sale, you can pay a visit for inspection as well. Location is Abuja

Okay. Thanks.

I don't expect to be a regular mechanic visitor, though. I seem to maintain stuff well.
Also, I don't care for ruggedity, really. I only need the car for simple movements.

All the ones employed in the last 3-4years.

A greater percentage of them relocated/want to relocate. So they strike deals to pay off their car loans and leave without owing the bank.

Kia Rio was imposed on them when getting the job. It was not an option.

Any link to someone who may be looking to sell?

Get a 2003-2006 Toyota Matrix

The problem with Nigerian used cars is that most Nigerians have no business owning cars. They cannot afford the cost of ownership and cannot maintain the cars.

What you get is people who keep driving as long as the car starts and drives. The faults pile up and like every other machine, the car eventually breaks down requiring a major fix. They patch it up and sell to an unsuspecting buyer.

This is not to say you cannot get a good Nigerian used cars but its like looking for a needle in a haystack

Just keep it simple. Get a Matrix. If your drive belt cuts on third mainland bridge, you don't need to get to Ladipo to get a replacement or wait for a specialist mechanic to fix it.

Thank you so much.

Would you recommend a Matrix over a Civic?

I saw an extensive comparison between a Civic and a Corolla yesterday.
I was attuned to the arguments in favour of Civic.

Search for access bank staff that want to japa (relocate).

You can get a 2018/19 Kia Rio with less than 80k km at your budget.

Hmm. Please give me more insights.

There's a particular Access Bank Staff who wants to relocate? Or many Access Bank employees are given 2018/2019 Kia Rio as their official cars, so there's a high chance I'll get a good deal from someone looking to relocate. If the latter is the case, please can you link me up with any?

Your budget can get you a toks 2009 Honda Civic.... It has top notch fuel economy, much better interior than most cars of its class, cheap and available parts, and won't disappoint you if you maintain it properly..

There are a lot of people here who can do a pre purchase inspection for you to ensure you get a good specimen.. for a little fee of course smiley

When you are ready, you can contact GAZZUZZ here to help you source for or check out the vehicle you want to buy.. .

I stumbled on a Honda Civic/Toyota Corolla thread on FP yesterday. I followed the debate closely, and I think I'll be considering a Honda Civic.

Thank you.

2009, '10?

I doubt my budget can get 2011.
Car Talk / Affordable Car For A Young Lady by LegitGirl(f): 11:31am On Apr 02, 2022
Good morning everyone.

I thought Nairaland would be the best place to ask this since there are many notable car dealers, and car owners here.

I'm looking to get my first car before the end of the year. But I honestly don't know much about cars except that a V6 engine gulps fuel, and that many Nigerians love Toyota. These are my considerations.

1. Budget 2m to 3m.

2. Something girly and portable.

3. Low cost of maintenance. If I had my way, I would buy brand new so I would almost never have to visit the mechanic save for routine maintenance.

- Low fuel consumption
-Availability of spare parts.
- Not prone to breakdown

4. Optimal functioning AC

5. It should be in perfect condition for at least 2 years. When I marry, my husband will buy the next one. But right now, it doesn't have to be fancy. Since I'm not a pro-driver like that like that, Lagos road users may bash and scratch it. I don't want to go home and cry that they're scratching an expensive car.

6. And what's the aversion with Nigerian used cars? People seem not to like buying Nigerian used cars? Can 1.5m get me a good Nigerian used car that meet the aforementioned criteria?

7. Finally, what about cars assembled in Nigeria? Like Innoson? Kia Rio.

Please advise me and tell me all I need to know. God, Allah, Sango, Oluwa, Chi, bless you!

She seems to be emasculating him. If I were a man, I wouldn't put up with a woman like this.
