Enculer2:hi, the bolded caught my attention. please elaborate, does this mean that the EO is marked inhouse and does not get marked in France as with the other 3 modules? i was of the opinion that everything is "shipped" to francais des affaires for marking. my EO was more or less a trainwreck. i dont know how to improve without immersion in a francophone country. is it over for me? |
PurpleHibiscus7:hello, i just attempted the tef exam a few days ago. your story is quite similar to mine as i was also in the french space about a decade ago and also did Delf A1-B2. but because of the 10yr gap and lack of immersion i forgot almost all my french. i started taking weekly private classes in march, and as mentioned earlier, i just recently sat for my first TEF attempt. to be honest the EO was not a walk in the park. so with that brief history i would like to request some info from you if you do not mind; 1) how long did you take revision classes before your first exam attempt? 2) was the first attempt favourable? 3) how many other attempts did you make before succeeding to the almighty nclc 7? 4) how significant a gap from your first attempt and the successful one? 5) how did you go about preparing for the following attempts, what did you do differently that aided in your success? 6) can i prepare without a tutor after having experienced the test and having an idea of where my weakness are. can i polish up on my own or must i engage a tutor again (private tutors are very very expensive) 7) should i look for a tef tutor specifically, does it make a difference? how many points did you get from your second language and is it worth it uploading my results with a lesser tef score?9) how long do the results take to be released? i am sitting on the edge of my chair since the exam, the suspense is killing me. thanks in anticipation. |
phollybee:If any such agent exists, they charge in the ranges of 25k-50k depending on the teer level. In which case you would have paid yourself your annual salary as whatever money they pay you will only go to refund the money you forked out for the job. Not to mention that its illegal for the employee to pay for LMIA or to secure a job. And to add insult to injury, there are plenty of people already in Canada on visit visa applying for jobs and not getting due to their immigration status, leave alone you who is all the way in Africa. But in the event that you do find one, I am also interested. ![]() |
Ravissante:You really are in a predicament. Marriage by proxy is accepted provided it took place outside of canada and registered in a country that recognizes proxy marriages as legal, but also common law partner is accepted and I am worried that if you mention that you had a traditional wedding it may be regarded as such and hence call for misrep. I do however agree with everyone as they say tread carefully because US and Canada do share every minute detail of immigration applicants. Here is my opinion, do not include spouse at this point, make sure you are in the clear before entangling yourself. Its a sad reality and may be detrimental to your marriage but I am of the opinion that Canada PR is difficult enough as it is without adding other reasons to have your application scrutinized. hold off on the wedding until you have COPR then continue and sponsor him to come even if it means on TRV at first. In short I am saying; get your foot through the door first. Do not give them unnecessary "ammunition" to use against you. Worst case scenario they request for ADR or Procedural fairness. At which point you will need a lawyer and then present every piece of information pertaining to the 2022 US visa denial. |
overlord77:Thank you so much. |
overlord77:I am currently filling the EOI, I have just one question, does NB accept EOIs from people who have not first been prompted/invited to submit an EOI? I don't want to put the cart before the horse and render my candidature ineligible. Because from what I know, you must be invited to submit and EOI, is there a change or is it permitted for occupations in demand such as tech nocs? Has anyone without an occupation in demand submitted an EOI without prior invite to do so?? |
ans123:As per the screenshot, I think the order should be: 4 2 3 1 But that's just my opinion which I don't think counts much as you addressed those who claimed sibling points specifically. ![]() |
Honeysweetest:Thank you very much! |
overlord77:Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. I came across this during my research, I am wondering how does it relate to what you did? To be eligible to apply to the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream, you must first meet one of the three connections below: NB Employment Connection NB Student Connection NB Occupations in Demand Connection Each connection has specific instructions on how to apply. Please follow the instructions carefully. If you do not, we may not receive your EOI. Complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province through the INB Portal. Each month, Immigration NB invites candidates by selecting from the pool of eligible EOIs and issuing ITAs to those selected. Invitations – April 2023 If you receive an ITA, you have 45 days to submit a complete application. If your application is approved, you will be nominated by the province. You will have 30 days to accept the nomination in your Federal Express Entry account. Submitting an application and meeting the eligibility requirements for the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream does NOT guarantee a nomination. Important: GNB reserves the right to change criteria and/or pause streams. Check the NB immigration website regularly to stay up to date with all changes. My concern is that I don't have a tech noc. and we all know tech is in demand, they even have tech specific recruitment events. That being the case, do I still have a chance? In short, can I submit an EOI without the three mentioned : employment connection, student connection or occupation in demand? Thanks again. |
ednut1:Alberta also has family connection. I think uncle is accepted. |
overlord77:Very big congrats. Please, i have a few questions, if you don't mind; Did you fill the 10 page registration? Do you have French proficiency? Did you get any interest from an NB employer prior to receiving their LOI? Is there anything in particular that you did that may have aided/resulted in them selecting you? How long did it take since your application (if you applied) until selection? What is your NOC code? Thanks. |
littyprincess:I think the discount is time bound. It applies if the first ECA is within 6months from the 2nd ECA application. Keywords: I think. |
Tgain:Every single point counts. |
Tvickie:Super! Congrats! No worst case scenario here. All the best. |
Tvickie:Why should it be deducted is the question. You are giving us half-baked information. Perhaps you could explain a little more so we could be more helpful…but at face value I’m thinking 496 is still above 489 so you are safe so long as you steer clear of misrepresentation. |
TwinHeart:Oh what a costly mistake. Oh well let this be a reminder to make sure it’s upto date and ready for the next draw. Best of luck! |
TwinHeart:When, exact date? Is there no chance that your profile has expired? |
Collins4u1:I think your noc would determine if its FSW or FST. Generally teer 4 and 5 are trades. Whilst 0,1,2 and 3 are skilled workers. But also canada.ca has an assessment tool to check which program you qualify for amongst the 3 EE programs. And lastly for PNP route search which province has your occupation in demand. It is not a must to use EE, you can apply direct to some PNPs. Like @ednut1 said, read page 1 |
ednut1:You are always on point. Thanks. But proving that would be his word against theirs. Yet is it worth the risk? 🤔 |
yansky:Sorry, still new to nairaland. No idea how to access nairaland mails but you can reach me on cannygirl0@gmail.com In any case i think your beat bet is to strike while the iron is hot. Since this month is not yet over, automatically last paycheck would be for Feb thus rendering your application valid. If you apply in April then last paycheck will be that of march. Problem is, can you amass all the required docs within 3days? As this month is almost over. Otherwise get professional advice from a registered immigration consultant/lawyer in Canada. Mine is just an opinion and not at all from experience. |
yansky:Sorry i am failing to attach a screenshot of the required documents as mentioned on SINP website But it talks of 1) proof of relation between you and your cousin (passport, birth cert, marriage cert etc) 2) copy of his PR, citizenship or canadian passport 3) proof of residence (utility bills from Sask power, lease/rental agreement, health card or driving licence, receipt of income for the past 3 months) 4) they may ask other documents such as if your cousin has children; their enrollment in the sask education system. And if they previously supported another applicant ; the previous supported applicants successful settlement in Sask (6 months worth of evidence documentation) Unfortunately they say nothing about if your connection leaves the province except that the proof of residence should be for the past 3 months (creating a loophole, 3 months from date of EOI submission, ITA, or official application submission?) Now that is where the grey area is. When do the “past 3 months” begin and end? I am not a pro but i just read the fine print for you, perhaps those with experience can shed some light on this. 🤷♀️ |
ednut1:I am actually short of 20 points to meet the current cutoff and would require a relative to gain those precious 20points. I am at 64 and their cutoff is 84… so i decided to not apply as yet. So i think he should make use of his relative because if he loses those 20 points, he may end up in the same boat as me. For interest sake, is there any mention anywhere of revoking a NOI if a reletive moves out of province before the the actual nomination is awarded? |
yansky:I dont think you are at fault so long ad you can prove that he was living there at the time of application and upon receipt of NOI. Question is what is generally used as evidence of his residence in the province? As in, must you provide his house bills with his address or his driving licence as you mentioned or his health insurance card/details or his bank details? I think it will not be an issue as you clearly did not misrepresent yourself, rather life happens as they continue with the shortlisting and selection of candidates. Surely they can not expect your cousin to remain waiting for your process to complete and miss out on an opportunity of a lifetime. I think with a good lawyer you can easily win the case, should it come to that. Unless ofcourse they mention it in the SINP guidelines, go back and read the fine print. If its not mentioned continue with your application and wait for the results. |
Goodnigga:Understood. But what i meant is, in the EOI for whatever province, lets take New Brunswick for example, to register you fill a 10 page questionnaire that also asks about your spouse language skills and level of education, take manitoba, i tried the morden immigration initiative, and as expected it asked about the education and language skills and employment history. I didnt go through with either one but i am guessing that all pnp will request that kind of info for one’s spouse. I have been thinking of trying sinp but again without those details, i feel it will be a waste of time. Filling out the EOI and getting a Notification of interest or letter of advice to apply or invitation to apply (different names for different provinces) are unfortunately two different things. What i am asking is will i have a fighting chance if i try without spouse’s ielts and ECA.? |
veleta:What are you crossing your fingers for? I mean, which pathway are you anticipating exactly? I am guessing it will be a direct student to PR but only time will tell. What is your guess? |
Goodnigga:Agreed. Tell me please, if my spouse has not taken the ielts or done his WES, could it cause a significant points reduction for my pnp application? In such a case should i apply and indicate unaccompanying spouse? Or how do i go about it? |
Christyiji:Hi, just making sure that the person who emailed me is really you. You know, you can never be too safe online. Just a precaution. Kindly confirm. Thanks |
Christyiji:Bachelor of Business Management. Here is my email: cannygirl0@gmail.com Please lets continue this convo elsewhere 😄 |
Christyiji:Thanks so much, as i said its above my budget. If you dont mind, kindly share the alternatives you are looking into for a similar course (business analytics at graduate level). Please feel free to reach out to me privately for further details if you are not comfortable sharing everything so publicly. |
Christyiji:Hi, i am also interested in the same course at the same uni. My question is; isnt the couse fees 33k rather than the 43k yoi have quoted. I am of the opinion that the 10k in excess is the coat of living. Please correct me if i am wrong. I better make an informed decision as 43k is way above my budget for tuition. Another question is if admissions are cloaed because i havent even began the application process. Question number 3; is if my children accompany me (3 kids of primary school age) will they study free of cost in public schools or do children of international students have to pay fees albeit local fees. And if so will i have to show POF for their studies in the public schools? Last but not least; i considered this particular uni because of the direct route to OINP PR possibility what with ON having 18k slots for PNP in the coming years, which brings me to my question, is there anyone who has used this route before and been successful in securing PR prior to pwgp and without a valid job offer (we cant predict employment opportunities) but we cant also invest so heavily without ‘assurance” or at the very least experience. |
Abercrome:Was your case a SINP application or the regular Express entry ITA.? Because SINP is very clear about that clause, i dont think she is at the mercy of IRCC as she is still at the provincial jurisdiction level. Should SINP not be satisfied with her failure to meet this requirement she could lose the precious 600 point opportunity. |
cadno:Understood. I didn’t know that SINP held a draw on 23rd. I thought it was an IRCC ITA for the 7000 surprise draw. Ok in response to your question, there is no waiver and they will decline your application as the funds were meant to be in your account 3 months prior to applying and not even 3 months prior to receiving ITA. Its tricky, maybe have a look at whether they accept liquid funds/ bonds and other financial assets. Or perhaps link the funds to sale of property. |
how many points did you get from your second language and is it worth it uploading my results with a lesser tef score?
