Westlife-Home

Another summer day,
Has come and gone away,
In Paris and Rome,
But I want to go home,
Mmmmmm

Maybe surrounded by,
A million people I,
Still feel all alone,
I just want to go home,
Oh I miss you, you know,

And I've been keeping all the letters,
That I wrote to you,
Each one a line or two,
I'm fine, baby, how are you,
Well I would send them but,
I know that it's just not enough,
The words were cold and flat,
And you deserve more than that.

Another aeroplane,
Another sunny place,
I'm lucky, I know,
But I want to go home,
I've got to go home,

Let me go home
I'm just too far,
From where you are,
I've got to come home,
Let me go home,
I've had my run,
Baby, I'm done,
I want to come home

And I feel just like I'm living,
Someone else's life,
It's like I just stepped outside,
When everything was going right,

And I know just why you could not come along with me,
'Cause this was not your dream,
But you always believed in me,

Another winter day
Has come and gone away,
In either Paris or Rome,
And I want to go home,
I miss you, you know,

Let me go home,
I've had my run,
Baby, I'm done,
I want to go home,
Let me go home,
It'll all be alright,
I'll be home tonight,
I'm coming back home.

Lero how about this- "don't be scared to gatecrash a test if you should"
Yes o. That's true.
There are "gatecrashable" tests too.
It's either they allow you or they say no.
No crime.

Job hunting: The Ideal Nairalander Way!
Very interesting piece OP! Job hunting on NL is a lot easier, free from hassles and you network faster on here.

Personally, I've gained from the points highlighted above.

Let me see if there's any Lero missed that I've done... brb.

√ Get into the section chatroom from time to time and chat up a joblander you admire! Maybe someone who is currently in a certain job race with you or someone who has gone ahead of you. Glean some wisdom from them!

√ Don't be alone! As much as you can, connect with someone online, offline. There are certain convo you cannot have on a thread lest you derail it and face the consequence of your action. Therefore, connect with a few offline!

My own style! Try it out and thank me later *winks. Happy new Year Joblanders!
You are welcome, Amicable09.
Nice points too.

- know what the Company of your interest does and mingle with people already in that practice.

- after any failed attempt do not conclude that you are a douche bag, dust yourself and brush up your skills.

- always prepare in anticipation of a potential opportunity. Try to reduce crash preparation to avoid tension.

- get on LinkedIn and connect with employees of companies of your interest, register your interest but don't be a pest. A silent vacancy can be available and you will be informed. It really works as I got my present job via this mode. Yes, a total stranger who has never asked for a reward.

- even on a good job, don't stop your search if that's not yet your Eureka. at your bus stop, thrive to keep being relevant.

- Seek God's direction. This can't be over emphasized as I don't believe a job seeker must apply to every vacancy. I may be wrong though.

5. Buy that Suit
For interview purposes, you need it seriously. Your mode of dressing will go a long way in scoring you well during interviews. I know most guys don’t like wearing one, just roll with it!
6. Be Careful with Your Personal Details
Please don’t fall victim. Be careful what you upload on the internet, especially your phone number and email address. Scammers are everywhere. You will start seeing some funny invites on your phone about test/interview. First of all, Google the firm and link the search with nairaland. You will get enough info. If you need any help or material from a fellow nairalander, PM is the safest to go.
7. Do Something New
Be innovative.
Take risks.
Don’t be idle, while searching, you may do some freelance job, learn some computer software application, fashion design, music, name them…any that interests you. Don’t stay idle, please.
Learn from your mistakes and avoid repeating them.
8. Build up your self-confidence
Yes, this is critical. You go for interviews and you are “scared”. Scared of what, really? Interviewers are humans, not like they would bite. Of course I can’t deny the tension and all, but still you need to manage and package yourself well. Speak up, be audible. Don’t claim what you don’t have or what you cannot defend.

I will leave the rest to my bosses on this section (and any other nairalander) to do justice to this post.

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year, good people of Nairaland …and the guests.
I want to use this space to share some job hunting tips for fellow nairalanders. Afterall, I am a beneficiary to the goodies of jobs/vacancies section. This is borne out of questions and views of some people,(nairalanders included) about job hunting in Nigeria.
I hereby present to you some tips on Job hunting the Nairalander Way.

1. Send That PM
You are new to job hunting and you are feeling shy or too big to send a PM (That Send Email Message to so so so) to that dude with some job tips to share, bros/sis you must be on a long thing. I know females especially don’t find it comfortable. But hey! This is job and career we are talking about, not romance or dating. A friend in need is a friend indeed. I have sent so many PMs and have discovered the great minds and personalities behind these monikers. If you are still a guest, it will do you good to join Nairaland. No biggie.
2. Follow That Nairalander
Yes! Follow that dude. You know he/she has some wealth of experience on job matters. My dear, follow. There are some first-hand info you can get by just following. It could be through what he “shares” or the topics he creates.
3. Get a Smart Phone
Subscribe to credible job alerts and career sites. You need a “proper” email address. Yes, proper. leroforeallove2016@yahoo.com may sound attractive or trendy, it won’t do you good for submitting application. Use a simple email address that has at least your first name or surname. I know some friends that are very active on whatsapp/bbm and the likes, but they will still ask you about job openings even when there is a trending one at that particular period. Some have missed tests/interview invites simply because they don’t have a yahoomail/gmail app on their phones. My dad once said, “Lero, you and your phone everytime!...well, na so so phone you press sotay you get job” hehe.
4. Read Job Materials
Are you a job seeker, Corps member, awaiting NYSC, final year undergraduate?? Please get used to GMAT, SHL, CUBIKS,etc, DRAGNET and WORKFORCE-styled questions! How I wish we did some course about these materials in our undergraduate days, seriously! If you are seeing this and you don’t know about these job tests, please find out. We have numerous thread on Jobs/Vacancies section where some samples are shared
