Politics / Ex-british Parliamentarian, Eric Joyce, Claims Buhari Is Dead by lewispius: 2:17pm On May 22, 2017
Former British Parliamentary member, Eric Joyce, stirred controversy when he claimed President Buhari is dead.

He posted some damning tweets and he made a post on his website.

On his website, he said:

“I wrote this yesterday about President Buhari of Nigeria. There’s been a lot of interest in the blog in Nigeria. I’ll answer a few of the key points raised, here.

First, if you’re a president then it’s up to you to show people you’re alive and well – it’s not up to your people to prove the opposite. Every politician in the world knows this. A statement from a PR guy doesn’t cut it. Angry ripostes from supporters don’t cut it. Only your personal appearance cuts it.

Second, if your’e a president and you’re not well, then a doctor needs to come out of the hospital and explain to your nation what’s up. This let’s everyone, including your people and the markets, know if your alive at all, alive enough to recover or have just sprained an ankle.

Unless these things apply, then there will be shenanigans. For example, a dead person will be kept hooked up to a machine and advisers, politicians, traders, all the people ‘in the know’ will be jockeying for position and none of the regular people of the country will know anything about it. .

Nigerians have done themselves proud on the democratic front in the last few years; this is no time to start accepting bullshit again.

Where’s the Nigerian media? Cowed, maybe? And where’s the UK media?Uninterested, probably, because it’s almost entirely white – in spite of many Africans living in London – and to most UK media folk stories about Africa are boring unless there’s a big famine, terrorism, or a war.

But in the end, this is about how Nigeria is on its way to becoming a front-rank nation. That’s good news. Accountability to regular Nigerians about the present situation with the president is a big, big part of that.”

Crime / See How This Young Man Was Harassed By SARS OFFICIALS On His Way To Lagos (pics) by lewispius: 7:18pm On Apr 26, 2017
In his words:

At this moment I AM NOT PROUD TO BE A NIGERIAN, and we all are not anywhere near being safe with any of these so-called "law enforcement". Please my experience below;
I'm Damilola Adeyanju. On 13/04/2017 a couple of my friends and I travelled to Warri, Delta state for a family friend's wedding to hold on the 15/04/2017. We decided to stay for some extra days after the wedding to have a feel of Delta state since we hardly leave Lagos normally, and so we left for Lag on 18/04/2017.
That fateful morning around 6am, we (6 of us) got to Greener Line Park and chattered a 7 seater bus. At about 7:45am we took off, got to Sapele express by 8:30 thereabout, we got stopped by SARS officials for stop and search. We all came down and were searched. They then proceeded to our bags where they found a laptop belonging to one of us. They asked for the receipt and the owner told them he's had it for years and doesn't have it on him after which they grabbed his phone from him.
Getting to me, I also had my laptop and they requested for the receipt as well, I said I don't have it on me, then he (SARS guy) called one of his colleagues to take the laptop to their patrol pickup truck and told us to go stand by the truck.
Another Greener Line bus was stopped and they alighted 4 other guys from it, told them to walk towards us and we all get into the back of the truck. We asked why and the SARS pilot shouted 'obey before complain'. So they got in and drove us away. Bystanders quickly told the Greener Line drivers and the rest of my friends to go after us, because the so called SARS people could take us to a bush and probably shoot us and go with our belongings.
Fortunately my phone was silent and undetected, so my friends were able to reach me and I quietly told them we were still on the same express. The drivers sped up and caught up with us. After driving for about 15mins, we eventually got to a police station (OKUOVO).
The got us out of the truck, walked us into the station, pushed us forcefully behind the counter and told us to sit on the floor. While all these was happening we still didn't know offense. The next thing we saw was them bringing out statement forms and called one of the other 4 guys to the front, stripped him off his shirt and was told to sit on the floor. The officer started asking the guy questions and writing the statement for the guy, and at some point started whipping him with wire. The guy's back tore and started bleeding from the beating. Out of fear and pain the guy was saying different stories. I was just sitting on the floor looking at my friend like "o boy I no go take this beating oh, we go die here today if e touch me with that wire"
Next thing the guy was cuffed and brought back behind the counter. I quickly sent my mom a text message to send me the Commissioner of Police for Lagos state's number. She called and asked why, I stylishly picked and told her what was up. She panicked and I had to cut the call, she eventually sent the number but unfortunately myself and my friend were next.
My friend was told to sit on the floor I was told to stand, it was two different officers interrogating us, the statement form was brought out and the officer insisted on writing my friend's statement. My friend refused but was threatened so he had no choice but to sit back on the floor because they were armed. So I quickly grabbed the pen from the other officer that I was going to write mine myself. I was asked for my profession and all and I wrote it all down. I'm an Aqua-scaper (construction of aquariums and land scaping). They started asking who could identify my business and I should write the names of my clients, I'm like that has got nothing to do with what's going on here... They asked for proof of my work I told them I have pictures on my phone showed them, even told them I just came back to Nigeria for this wedding that I'm undergoing a course in South Africa and I showed them proof and he was like they should cuff me, that I'm a cultist and my friend is a kidnapper.
Long story short, we got handcuffed until my friends (the bride's) mom came to our rescue. The cuffs were later taken off but then they said we were in possession of stolen phones and laptops that they won't be given back to us until we provide the receipts. I got angry and told him I will provide the receipt on the spot if he can provide that of his phone and he said I was very stupid to question an officer. My friends mom cried and begged but fell on deaf ears.
I had sneaked the number my mom sent on a piece of paper and passed it to my friends outside. The "SARS" officials eventually drove off with the other cuffed boys still with our laptops and phones. I called the commissioner and he spoke to an officer of that police station (OKUOVO station) and the officer said he doesn't know the officers that arrested us before he too ran away from the station on his okada, so it was just us left in an empty police station.
We waited till about 6pm and eventually had to leave cos it was getting dark in the middle of nowhere. We went back to warri.
On 19/04/2017, at about 6:05am we were back at the Greener Line park to get the bus to take us back to the OKUOVO police station, on getting there it was empty. We decided to head to the same spot we were stopped and eventually got to find them there looking for more preys.
I got out of the bus, called the Assistant Commissioner of Police and approached BISHOP (that's the only info I could get of him), the leader of the "SARS gang". He said he didn't want to talk to anybody and I delivered the message to the Commissioner. He heard me say that, grabbed the phone from me and cut the call. He slammed the phone on my chest and started pushing and kicking me, that I should leave.
While walking away he came towards my back and hit me at the back of my head, as I turned to face him he began slapping me for no reason. At that point I had enough of it, I got angry and raised my hands in self defense to block the hits then I remembered he had a gun and just walked away.
They eventually got some more innocent people to prey on and drove them to another police station (MOSOGAR) in Delta state. We drove behind them, on getting there I didn't come down from the bus, my friends and the manager of Greener Line went in with them. They were asked to pay N80,000 before our phones and laptops were returned to us.
I do understand that in life, bad things happen sometimes. What I don't understand however, is why as a citizen of this country, I experienced this not at the hands of robbers or thugs, but at the hands of uniformed policemen who my tax cloth and buy arms for.
I am sad, and do hope that perhaps somebody reading this somewhere will recognize these guys and help identify them, not for revenge, but so other unsuspecting helpless citizens don't get to experience such too at the hands of their supposed policemen "friends".

Celebrities / Drake Maybe Allegedly Beefing “star Boy” Wizkid – VIDEO by lewispius: 10:45pm On Mar 07, 2017
There seems to be some drama brewing between Canadian born American rapper Drake and Nigeria’s very own star boy Wizkid.

Now here is where the story begins, Wizkid for a longtime has always referred to himself as “Star Boy”. Suddenly, last year Wizkid gained more international exposure as he wrote and co-produced Drake’s Billboard number one hit song “One Dance”.

The “Star Boy” moniker got a little controversial when Canadian singer Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, released a single and subsequently an album called “Starboy”. As expected Nigerians reacted to the allege plagiarism of the star boy trademark.

It’s seems Drake is backing fellow Canadian The Weeknd as the real star boy. This alleged beef was brought to notice by a London based social media personality Oyemikke.

Oyemikke in his vlog replayed a video footage at Drake’s concert where he introduced The Weeknd as the real “Star Boy”. Most annoying was the fact he kept emphasizing “the real star boy” as he called The Weeknd on stage for a performance.

You can also recall Drake’s “One Dance” video was shot and Wizkid was obviously not in the video.

While Drake performed at the O2 arena in London he brought to stage UK artistes like Section boys, Kayla but not Wizkid who was present at the venue.

Crime / Oyo Residents Tie Tortoise To Electricity Pole To Scare Off PHCN Officials by lewispius: 8:43am On Feb 28, 2017
PHCN has come under fire for the erratic electricity supply and its accompanying huge electricity bills.

In a bid to avoid paying bills while enjoying unlimited power supply, some residents in Oyo state tied a tortoise to the electricity supply pole.

This will scare off PHCN officials who attempts to cut off power supply.

Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc shared this photo via their official twitter handle.

The company wrote in the photo caption “Lol, some Nigerians will do anything to avoid paying bills. As seen in Oyo state.”
In many parts of Nigeria, a tortoise is associated with local witchcraft popularly known as ‘juju’.

Celebrities / Prince Eke’s Marriage To Muma Gee Ended Three Months Ago by lewispius: 10:49am On Jan 06, 2017
Nollywood actor, Prince Eke has newly disclosed that his 4 year marriage to singer Muma Gee is over. He in fact, revealed that the marriage ended three months ago and they are about to officially file for a divorce.

LIB reached out to him today and the actor confirmed his marriage to Muma Gee was over, saying:

“The truth is this. I am no longer married to Muma Gee. We are separated, for about 3 months now.
Let’s just say it (our marriage) didn’t work. We are not compatible. Talking about Muma
Gee now is going to remind me of things I have forgotten. I have moved on and she has
also moved on. I don’t want talk to Muma Gee again.
A lot of people have different impressions about everybody. People try to judge you even when they don’t know you. I don’t want to go into details but the thing is, Muma Gee and I are separated and very soon we will be officially divorced. I’m no longer married to Muma Gee.
In due time, the divorce will be filed.
The thing is, there is a straw that breaks the camel’s back and when it does, you find out that probably all the beautiful years you had were just a mirage. Marriage is meant to be enjoyed not endured.

Who has custody of the kids?

I don’t need to agitate about who should have custody of the kids. To be honest, I won’t be able to take care of them like a mother would and they are too tender. They are with their mother. I allowed that because I can’t take care of them for now. They will probably slow me down and my job also restricts me

LIB: Why did you take your marital issues to social media?

I don’t feel good speaking about my private affair in public but the reason I had to speak out was because at that point, for 3 months Muma Gee was no were to be found. People said they saw her in Abuja.
I saw your wife in Abuja o, with the crazy hair that she made” but all the same, It’s her life not my life.
I had to go to the social welfare for kids, they invited her. They almost arrested her before she now came back and carried the kids. The next thing she did was to snap photos with the kids and put up on social media.
Why I spoke out at the first instance was because I felt so bad. No matter what, no matter who you have met now or that Mr right you have now, that person is not enough and shouldn’t be capable of convincing you to abandon your kids for that long.
For you to be convinced to abandon your kids for that long means that maybe something has been going on while you were still with me or you feel with this person, I have got everything that I wanted but have you asked yourself how old am I?
Will I be able to have kids again? I felt so bad. Why will a woman abandon my kids? Assuming she went with them, I wouldn’t have minded but when I come around her house to see my kids because we don’t live together, I find out they are with the nanny. Why? And I will be on location and the nanny will call me and say my child is vomiting. What! Where the Bleep is their mother?
If you are married you will understand where I am coming from. It’s so painful and a lot of my friends were like ‘don’t put your family matter on social media’ but I needed to explode. I didn’t even read the comments on blogs because I knew people will call me names and insult me but all the same, thank God I did that, I have moved on.
