The problem with some ex players is that despite the platform Nigeria gave them at the global stage they are still angry and bitter with the Nigerian state because of all sorts of things like unpaid allowances and other opportunities they feel they were denied of. Someone like oliseh is still angry with the nff and coach onigbinde of blessed memory for dropping him out of the 2002 World Cup squad. He still talks about it till today in some of his podcast, dude feels Nigeria still owes him a lot and hides behind objectivity to lash out at the country whenever the opportunity presents itself. He believes Nigeria will never do well in football until we atone for all our sins against him. He once said only his generation played for the best of clubs in Europe and since then according to him no Nigerian has been in the best of clubs whereas we’ve had players win league titles, champions league and Europa since then. No amount of reasoning will ever appease the likes of oliseh and other ex players and they will continue to take it out on the next generation of players until this world ends. I think it has a lot to do with how we are as a people, we are too unforgiving no matter how much you beg 😂

You may have the voice of reason but unfortunately the likes of oliseh don’t see it that way. Let the player make way so at least we don’t see more drama around the player again. You severely underrate sporting politics. Morocco wouldn't have this leverage in the first place if other nations had comparable infrastructure. That's the gospel truth. However, it appears that this advantage is now being leveraged improperly, creating room for poor sportsmanship and unfair conduct. Infrastructure should be a service to African football, not a tool for dominance or intimidation.
What Africa truly needs is more quality football facilities across the continent. Countries like Nigeria and others should be capable of hosting AFCON without stress, given our football history and population. Unfortunately, poor planning, governance challenges, and declining infrastructure have made this dificult.
The situation of the countries and the broader football ecosystem is not in a healthy state, and until infrastructure development becomes a continental priority, these challenges will persist. if i am correct , Morocco is likely to host another AFCON in 2yrs or 3 years time

We're talking about the future this one dey drag us back to Iheanacho in 2026! see how serious teams like Senegal, CIV, Morocco, Cameroon, DRC etc are boosting their squad with younger exciting talents and we are seeing the top level football from them, na why we no dey make progress in Nigeria...always recycling deadweights who are already past it, smh.

You can clearly see the result of teams that encourage the gradual introduction of younger players into their national sides—both of them ended up playing in the final. The Moroccan system allows this, and the Senegalese system, by default, also gives young players opportunities to feature at the national level.

They are the real Teranga Lions. They fought as one, showed moments of individual brilliance, embraced a bit of madness, and when it mattered most, someone stepped up with that defining moment of quality. This is what a complete team looks like.
