Mehn. Brahim Diaz. Hmmm.... So it is true? I saw a vid. Well, if it is then I respect his mental strength and willingness to be the fall guy/sacrificial lamb in Morocco's failure.

Morocco deserves to lose all the same. Football won. Case closed.
Until tomorrow, I believed it was simply a clear miss, and that is how it should be recorded in football history.
If, however, it were proven to be a deliberate action, then appropriate sanctions should apply, including investigation for match manipulation, and FIFA would be right to look into it.

But in all honesty and clarity, that incident was a miss. The intention was clearly a Panenka-style penalty. The goalkeeper remained in the middle as instructed by mane , maybe he knows where he will shoot the ball , and it is well known that Mendy has an excellent record against Panenka penalties—not once, not twice. His history speaks for itself, and this has already been widely shared.

Anyone pushing a different narrative should stop. We all wanted Senegal to win—and they did, fairly.

As for Morocco, their lack of sportsmanship has been evident. It has been an unfortunate and recurring experience for many of their opponents throughout this competition.

We're talking about the future this one dey drag us back to Iheanacho in 2026! see how serious teams like Senegal, CIV, Morocco, Cameroon, DRC etc are boosting their squad with younger exciting talents and we are seeing the top level football from them, na why we no dey make progress in Nigeria...always recycling deadweights who are already past it, smh.
You can clearly see the result of teams that encourage the gradual introduction of younger players into their national sides—both of them ended up playing in the final. The Moroccan system allows this, and the Senegalese system, by default, also gives young players opportunities to feature at the national level.

They are the real Teranga Lions. They fought as one, showed moments of individual brilliance, embraced a bit of madness, and when it mattered most, someone stepped up with that defining moment of quality. This is what a complete team looks like.
They played as if their lives depended on it. There’s a lot for us to learn from that performance. Until we have players with real courage—players who are ready to take the fight to the opponent-. We need more players in the Super Eagles with a true winner’s mentality.

Kudos to the champions. They came, they saw, and they conquered—against all odds.

You people like to argue and argue for no reason. Where you see a professional goalkeeper catching a penalty with TWO HANDS WHILE STANDING?
Not diving or punching off the ball?
When the ball is that easy, what do you expect? Do you honestly believe it was a fair shot? The guy was shaking—he couldn’t even maintain eye contact. He lost the ball trying to add unnecessary panache.

sometimes some decision needs drastic action , if SE has protested at bad officiating during the match ...it would have been sweet advantage

We should have done the same thing. Nice guys never win. Now Senegal has sent a message to the whole world about CAF.
They clearly learned something from our match. If they were to meet us in the semi-finals, and we played this final against Morocco, such officiating would have been countered as well. All eyes are now on Morocco.

Why didn’t we get this kind of refereeing during our match? It’s sad that CAF and Morocco turned what should have been an exciting game into something else.

If Nwabali can promise them at least one big save, then the players should be able to promise him five goals. This is a sure banker win.

An unpopular opinion.... based on what I saw of Bassey, that guy was just throwing long range missiles to their intended target. Isn't it time we tried him as a defensive midfielder....?

You shock? Cos the way I see it, he will do well. He has the physicality. Comfortable on the ball and his delivery has been spot on. Reminds me of Sunday Oliseh and his long range assists and passing.

Might not be a bad idea hey? At least he won't be muscled off the ball

Before you eat me alive, please read the opening statement
you are very correct , his passes were accurate ...pinpoint passes .sent many to Akor Adams , even to Moses simon . But God done give us Maldini . why u want turn am to Yaya Toure ?

[quote author=TheGoodJoe post=138145187]Please, I am not disrespecting you in any way. Please do not see my post as that. I respect you so much to do that but this is exactly what I feel and I have preached about it a long time.

[color=#000099]That is why the likes of Kanu Nwankwo and Ikpeba did the impossible against Brazil. They did not have this chicken mentality that the other side is better.

We should start growing balls or let us have peace. Tired of this our chicken mentality that we are mediocre.

We are not.

I Agree with you , we need players with balls , who can take the fight to the opponent when things are rough ... we have seen that in Bassey ....Onyeka .Frank the tank. Bassey made some accurate passes other than his primary assignment . even in such situations there was no errors of any kind ... truly we need players with balls . but in all SE has done well .kudus to Eric Chelle , the team can get better .
