Please point me to his world-class achievements as a coach—maybe I’m missing something. The only thing that would make me respect such a bold statement from him is if he had successfully coached a world-class club, or taken a national team to win something tangible, or at least delivered a truly significant result.

Gone are the days when words carried weight simply because of who was speaking. These days, everyone just wants to make a point. But he hasn’t done the work to back up such claims. His tenure actually set the Super Eagles back, and the situation we found ourselves in today was largely a result of his errors and poor approach.

Why? Because their ideas are backed by measurable success: trophies, tactical evolution, and consistent results at the highest level.

Not a coach like Finidi.

Without tangible achievements to support such claims, saying “formation doesn’t matter” is simply too heavy. Formation may not be everything, but dismissing it requires authority earned through success.

In football, credibility comes from what you’ve done, not just what you say.

That statement carries weight only when it comes from those who have proven they understand the game at its highest level.

Finidi is 100% right.

i am not saying he was wrong ...My point is simple: Finidi does not have the authority to make that claim, because he has not done the right things to support it.

Saying “formation doesn’t matter” is incomplete and misleading. Formation may not be everything, but it is still a critical part of the game. You cannot dismiss it casually—especially when you lack measurable success to back up such a position.

Authority in football discussions comes from results, proven tactical work, and consistent success. Without these, opinions remain just that—opinions..... what i am saying is that , that claim too heavy for him to speak about . until he gets to that height in his career .

I have explained it repeatedly that Finidi is 100% right in that statement. Tuchel repeated the same thing. I watched a recent interview of Oliver Glasner, coach of Crystal Palace and he said the same thing.

You can't try Finidi's exposure working with Coach Monday Sinclair, Van Gaal, Louis Aragounes. Sometimes people should learn.

On PlayStation, I apply tactical adjustments and switch formations mid-game to confuse opponents. These are strategic concepts I have mastered. You may argue that it’s “just a game,” but it is still a simulation—and in many cases, the same principles apply to real-life scenarios.


This is why I struggle with certain football arguments.

Finidi dragged us backwards tactically. Is he an authority? What significant success supports his theory?

If this were Guardiola or The Special One, I would have given it serious consideration.

I still see the Moroccans winning 2:1. We have done quite well but this is as far as the Super Eagles can go. The Moroccans will do all within thwer power to ensure they win this. The referee will never be on our aide amd you'll see the Nigerians conceeding a lot of free kicks in dangerous areas. Onyedika would do this amd it'll lead to a goal and he'll be vilified for a while like Iwobi

this is just a way you want to enjoy the match ... taking the pressure off your chest ... The Algerians were too careful in the 1st half and sometimes lucky when some of Iwobi's final third line breakers didnt punish them.

Iwobi, take your huge flowers for consistently probing and exploiting the gaps in between the Algerian midfield-defensive lines and the half spaces especially on the medial left side. A true Eagle Eye.

And let me add that defensively, Iwobi put it his best defensive shift of the Afcon so far today. Kudos Iwobinho!

Yhe Algerians are likely to sit mid-block and deny us access centrally early. Where we have Lookman. And when the game is tight and compact early, a pure box striker like Adams and Osimhen can get isolated. It will make more sense to start with a fluid front line, create overloads, progression from wide areas. and pull Algeria out of position which was why i feel Chelle might deploy Chukwueze tomorrow.

Algeria will not seat back , they play attacking football , they will come out and play because they have some good wingers ... we will outscore them ... a repeat of what happened in 2 years ago , but this time we are winning

Unfortunately, I didn’t watch the entire match. I followed it from kickoff to the end of the first half, and then again from the 75th minute to full time. From what I saw, Cameroon didn’t have the capacity to beat that Moroccan side. Morocco were in full control and simply enjoyed themselves throughout the game.

Cameron back line is trying too much ... i doubt if they will get a draw

Mali with the super-ultra defensive style of play still chop goal ..... they made it look as if there is a goal drought in the Afcon
