fratermathy: We destroy our own environment in other to spite government as if those in power will feel it. Simple truth is that they won't! They have eaten enough money to last them for generations. It's the common man that will suffer it. Our environment has been destroyed, rivers polluted, no development anywhere & youth restiveness but we add self destruction to all these because of "our oil" mentality. What have our leaders done for us? What have the so-called freedom fighters done for the common man? We keep blaming government that builds schools, hospitals, etc for us and yet we can't see our own enemies. We Niger Deltans and even the south easterners are so wicked to ourselves and self centred. We are cruel to our plight and only God can help us, not the government, not federalism and not even secession. Even if we have Niger Delta republic or Biafra today, worse problems shall emerge because the same wicked and self centred hegemonic people will still be at the helms of affairs. So there is no utopia for us unless we fight for our rights, the right way.
The government has not done enough, granted! But why do we cause more havoc? Violence is not the way. Scoring own goals is not the way.
We can dialogue, involve international groups and other nations, cause civil disobedience, protest, etc but never violence or self destruction. Look at the American Civil rights movement and learn a lesson or two from there.
DONSMITH123: “The payment of what the protesting staff called a Special Overtime (SOT), was stopped by the last administration in 2014 on the ground that it was not listed in any extant government Circular, Financial Regulations or the Public Service Rules.
“The sum of N1.2 billion computed by the staff union for payment could not have been budgeted for in 2016 in the first place, not only because of the paucity of funds, but also the fact that the SOT allowance was not part of the remuneration in the Federal Public Service.
“The Federal Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and the Budget Office of the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, do not individually or collectively, owe any of their personnel their salaries.
“In view of the foregone, the Management of the Federal Ministry of Finance wishes to categorically state that the protests have no justifiable grounds,”
DaBullIT: Even the person they said was negotiating for them said he does not know them
I know Buhari is not Clueless , It's a policy never to negotiate with terrorists , and those who wrote the law and the geneva convention knew all too well , give a mice a cheese , it's going to want a glass of milk
gmaribel: Oga it is not sustainable......come to think if it, what is the quality of food that will be served? (Rice and palm oil?) Under what conditions will it be prepared (since it will be mass produced) Will it be served by overworked and underpaid teachers?
In Kaduna state where it is being piloted children just come to school to eat and immediately after eating, abscond. In osun state the burden is telling on the finance of the state. IMO state started it but later came to terms with reality.
Pertinent questions raised. As a good citizen, nothing holds you back from finding out answers to that. Because I foresee that even if FG answers those questions, there are people who'd still ask if the govt was being truthful. So you see how these things also rests on us? there used to be this far-back tune that's ends thus 'Oya make we join hand, to make Nigeria great'.
Armaggedon: quit foaming from your mouth! I guess the spill was caused by another thing. But if the pipeline was vandalized then it is irresponsibility on the part of FG cos ND avengers always announce when they attack obviously to avoid spillage.
Armaggedon: yes they should control it immediately. ND avenger announce immediately after attacks and sometimes live in order to avoid such situations. Infact in sane societies attacks of this magnitude will make govt to halt crude production in the entire region indefinitely until a lasting solution is found. I know it sucks to learn that militants act more responsibly than ur govt. Thats where we found urselves
Hahahahahahaaa! Sweet Jesus!!!
See as you dey fall your brain hand na. Brain wey God wash hand well give you ehnn nna!
I'm sure you'll soon suggest a govt toll-free line for citizens to immediately report oil facilities bombings, in order to fasttrack repairs. Chai! Ndi mmadu.
nyben4eva: I've come to realize that our problem isn't our leaders, our problem in this country is the youths. We no longer say and do things that'll move the fallen country forward, all we do is look for ways to involve tribalism, hatred, bigotory, bitterness in all things.
Our utterances has a lot to do with the direction we want this country to move to.I hardly see a patriotic youth on this forum, all I see is how one tribe is trying so hard to spite the other.
Well,I believe that an idle mind is the devil's workshop and that confirms the fact that most people spewing rubbish are jobless or from very wreckless background as charity begins at home.
Topics that brings about nation building hardly gathers traffic except those that promotes tribal wars.I really pity the so called leaders of tomorrow.
gwillonlinemart: Okay...thank God u did...but there was a misunderstanding here...guess you didn't have the patience because i explained to you that i was not in the office...that the person that would come to you would help get you the charger...GOD BLESS!!!...thanks for your post...
Quit that! I clearly heard you tell me that you were gonna send some1 to bring me to your 'office'. Honesty will take you far, dude!!
gwillonlinemart: Good morning, please state your experience here...
You asked me to wait in front of Heritage Bank. Which I did for close to 30mins, despite repeated calls to your line. Finally, someone was sent, who took me to a shop that was neither his nor had any apple-related accessories.
While waiting and speaking to you over the phone, you also mentioned you were no longer at 24A, Otigba street (I just noticed you've taken it off) but at 29, Otigba street.
Thankfully, I got the charger from another outlet without you or the dude's help.
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two persons suspected to have participated in the murder of a 75-year-old trader said to have been beheaded at Kofar Wambai market in Kano State, North West
Addressing journalists on the issue, the Police Commissioner, Maigari Dikko, confirmed the murder and the arrests but denied earlier report that the woman was beheaded.
There had been reports across the media that the 75-year-old Mrs Bridget was beheaded in Kano but the Police say Mrs Bridget was beaten to death by an angry mob who were made to believe that she blasphemed against the Prophet of Islam.
In an interview with reporters, the husband of the deceased, Pastor Mike Agbahime, also confirmed that his wife was not beheaded.
He stressed that she had been having misunderstanding with business neighbours over a space.
Mr Mike further explained that youths forced their way into one Alhaji’s house where he and his wife were hiding, overpowered the few policemen around and killed his wife before the arrival of Police reinforcement.
The Police Commissioner has said that the suspects in custody would be charge to court to answer for their crimes and that the command would continue to investigate and arrest any other person involved in the attack.
