PoliticsFrustrated Lautech Student Writes Gov Seyi Makinde by lijoh(op): 1:51am On Mar 19, 2020
A student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, has appealed to Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde to come to the rescue of entire community over the alarming rate and poor condition of roads in Ogbomosho metropolis.

Mr Adeyemo Oludele Elijah, in an open letter he addressed to Governor Makinde and made available to Mouthpiece NGR on Thursday, stated that Ogbomoso being the second largest city in the state, still faced with road challenges resulting to death of people and destroying vehicles and properties on daily basis.

Elijah urged the governor to demonstrate his usual philanthropic gesture, especially now that he’s the number one citizen of the state.

Below is the full text:

Noble regards to you sir, His Excellency Governor Oluseyi Makinde Abiodun, it is an honor to addres you in this Open Letter and also to associate with your great achievements.

It is very inspiring to see you hitting the ground running at full speed, since the euphoria of your electoral victory and swearing in.

This letter is written to you as a philanthropist, and most importantly as the executive governor and the Number one Citizen of our dear prestigious pace setter state.

My utmost prayer is that you surpass the past achievements of your predecessors and past administrations in the state.

Your Excellency sir, as a man of honour and a man who understand the ultimate need of the people/electorate that you're, I wish to submit this information and draw your attention to some vital needs of Oyo state and Most especially the zone which I represent, Ogbomosho zone and Ogbomosho Metropolis.

Oyo state has been a very important, strategic and also a pace setter state among her contemporaries, also is Ogbomosho with greats, incredible and indefatigable worth of human resources across the globe, one of the cities under your jurisdiction, who lack adequate developmental stride and Government intervention on necessary issues in past years.

Your commitment to the growth of the state capital and other zones respectively cannot be overemphasized since your assumption to office, Sectors as Health sectors, Civil servants entitlements, employment and economical growth, especially the educational sectors in their echelon, to ride the standard of education in the state.

Sir it is true that your led administration has decentralized State Road Commissions to all zonal levels to rehabilitate and construct new roads, I will like your government to see to the reality of this, Ogbomosho as a city under your watch is termed to be the second largest city within the state, after the state capital Ibadan, moreover it is a place where golden human resources and Economical resources lies, and as such it must not be left in the hand of mediocre leaders, but should be given possible best form of good leadership and attention, leaderships capable of harnessing both the materials and human capital resources in town to attain an optimal fulfilment.

The paragraph above was purposely included because the town has not been lucky with prudent and capable political appointees over time, more reasons why such issues need to be addressed.

Your Excellency sir, providence as placed you in a position to assist in bringing out to fruition the totality of inert potentials and beauty embedded in oyo state, and also to elevate her to enviable status in the domain of successful statehood.

Certain fundamental infrastructures, construction and refinement are needed to help shape and plan the valiant city adequately in our desired direction and shape, sir one of the prominent and vital need that concern the good people of Ogbomosho is the Maintainance of existing roads and construction of new ones, it is on record that In the past decade, Ogbomosho enjoyed good Asphaltic roads not just within Oyo anex but even in extention to other states and the nation at large.

The existing road are not Maintained/rehabilitate also new ones are not constructed, while I want to thank you in advance that the body in charge of State road Construction and the ministry will be deployed, down to Ogbomosho to observe the real state of things at your directive, I will like to let you know that some roads needs to be widen up, the valiant town Metropolis needs more dualized roads.

The single lane roads becomes more narrow and narrow as the population and users are increasing, some single lanes needs upgrading while this letter address some seeming lanes that needs upgrading in the later part, I want to quickly share with you the state of "Takie-city square road Condition".

This round about is a major reason I'm writting to your Excellency sir, the takie city square roundabout calls for Urgent attention, the construction of the federal Lane bye pass highway has taken the attention of central Government, and this leaves them to abandon the road for over two decades.

Apart from lacking rehabilitation and Maintainance, this route is the only route that links every northern vehicles to Ibadan, Lagos and entirety of southwest state, thousands of trucks and vehicles takes this route on daily basis, there has been a lot of Community and individual self of Intervention projects on these routes, but then all efforts are rendered useless in less than 4-5days, I must also mentioned that the dualized lane form Baptist school of nursing down to first bank and Brent mall, was a project facilitated and done by First bank of Nigeria, in order to aid vehicular movements and reduce the rate of accidents, quite numbers of promising Youth of LAUTECH and good numbers of People has lost their precious lives due to the Unhealthy condition of the route. The road has fade away, from Post Office to oja-Titun along starlight is a deathtrap, too bad to be discussed, narrow and crooked.

As a listening Governor you're sir, i am sure you will see to this Urgent issues as soon as possible sir, part of the routes are— High court area, behind Obà Oyewunmi house around Ore-Ofe Baptist Church, Sóun stadium to LAUTECH UnderG gate, Amazing Delicacy Junction to Pastor Bode/Ajibson area, iwàgbà culvert to Federal Government girls college, Ogbomosho central LCDA cooperative hall along Tacn Akandie to Okelerin junctions is not motorable, Dualization of Ogbomosho recreation club road to Sabo Starlight, rehabilitation of Afro Oke-anu route to GRA and Masifa Area is necessary sir, if by any means those route has been awarded then sir, I requested that all the contractors must face the full weight of law prosecution, for claiming the precious lives of Citizens, quite Numbers of Bridges and Culverts are left abandoned and suicidal cases are reported on daily basis.

Lastly sir, I'm seriously afraid of the disasters of truck or fuel split that can occur in Takie-Apake route if a solution Is not provided quickly, over 10 commercial banks, malls, stores, petrol stations and multimillion business are grounded right in that Junction sir, there is no pedestrain walk side and our children are expose to car hit.

Thank you for your Good works sir, I am sure at the time been of the construction, it is going to provide massive employment and generate High Marginal IGR, also to ease movements, save lives and propel development and civilization within the town, meanwhile we are aware of the Financial Burden attached to this but then, these we demand from you sir.

PoliticsWhy They Call Me ‘buje Budanu’ A Generous Man— Alao-akala January 20, 2019 by lijoh(op): 8:45pm On Jan 20, 2019
Former governor and candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, has explained why people call him ‘buje budanu’ (generous person).

Alao-Akala, who spoke on Crossfire, a weekly political programme anchored by Mayor Isaac Brown on Fresh 105.9 FM, disclosed that “What I did that made people gave me that sobriquet was that I made money available to the people by awarding contracts to the grassroots, if there’s a construction in Saki, I contract it to people at Saki, I don’t spray money across the streets, but you don’t have to see me before you get money because the money flows within the state.”

According to the Ogbomoso-born politician, “The excuse that they give contracts to companies outside Nigeria because of standard is a fallacy, I know Oyo State very well, we have good and reputable companies that will produce standard output.”

He also bared his mind on the Obaship tussle, noting that “What we are going to do is promote our culture, our tradition. I cannot reform our culture, it’s our tradition, why has the Queen of England not changed the system? Because it’s their culture, it’s not the business of government to change tradition or culture.

“I will run a listening government. When I was in government, I used the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, because, to get in touch with the people, you get feedback and know what’s going on.”

“In my first 100 Days in office, I will make sure that I put smile on the face of the people of Oyo State by reviving the economy.

“I will make sure I severe the ownership of LAUTECH for Oyo State. Experience they say is the best teacher, and you can’t read them in textbooks. I am telling you authoritatively that I know how to get the funds for tertiary institution flowing.

“I will make sure that with any money available, I will pay the owed salaries and pensions so that they will be happy with me. This is because these workers are the tools you will use to get the system working, so they need to be motivated. I will scrap all these small small levies, I enjoyed free primary education,” he added.

He, however, said “I did not leave N110 bllion naira in Oyo coffers, I left N10 billion when I exited. When I left, I did not owe any bank a dime, any bank that I owe money should come out. Secondly, I will publish our handover note which myself and the current government signed in one of the national dailies soonest, you know documents can’t lie.”

Expressing confidence in the ability of his deputy, Alao-Akala said he listed to the deputy governorship debate. “I listened to it and about the positive reports, that was why I chose him, I know he is capable, we are in government together.”

EducationLAUTECH Staff Begins '3-Day On And 2-Day Off Strike' by lijoh(op): 10:54pm On Jan 15, 2019
From Thursday, 17th January, 2019, workers at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology will begin what they described as ‘3-day on, 2-day off’ strike model.

A statement signed by the secretary of the joint action council, Comrade Fajoye Hamzat, disclosed that the strike became imperative as “the management has once again started staggered payment of salaries and allowances,” adding that “You will recollect that it was this same method that brought us to the level of being owed part of 2016 and 2017 salaries.”

He added that workers in the University have resorted to “fine and decent baara* style to make ends meet.”

STATE OF AFFAIRS IN LAUTECH: JAC POSITION

It becomes imperative to inform our teeming members the state of affairs with regards to our numerous demands from the university management and the governing council.

You will all recalled that at the last JAC Congress, our agreement was to write the management informing them of our requests and expectations.

To also give them 7-day ultimatum as directed by the Congress.

The ultimatum has expired on Sunday, January 13, 2019 without any expected positive action from the management.

As was noted at the Congress, the management has once again started staggered payment of salaries and allowances. You will recollect that it was this same method that brought us to the level of being owed part of 2016 and 2017 salaries, balance of 68 hours Earned Allowances, Responsibility allowances, 90 per cent of 2012/2013 promotion arrears and arrears of promotion from 2013/2014 to date. The management jumped the payment September 2016 deductions only to pay October 2018 deductions, which was paid last week.

This arrangement is making it hard to calculate the real amount of outstanding amount of salaries and allowances.

With the present situation, many of our members are seeking solace in ‘fine and decent baara’ style to make ends meet.

Our continuous coming to work is becoming hard and harsh which is making it more harder and harrowing for a lot of us. In the technical sense, the university is gradually locking us(employees) out.

Arising from the above observations, the JAC executive council met today, Monday, January 14,2019 to evaluate the situations on the campus vis-à-vis the report of the meeting with LAUTECH Alumni and the reply of JAC letter dated January 3,2019 to the management and resolved as follows:

1. That all members of JAC comprising of SSANU,NAAT and NASU LAUTECH Branch are hereby directed to stay at home from Thursday, January 17, 2019 and to resume to JAC congress on Monday, January 21, 2019 by 8.00am at MKO LT, LAUTECH for further directive;

2. That the JAC leadership arrived at the decision above when we convinced that the payment of November and December 2018 salaries are not at sight hence our decision to relief our members from the burden of borrowing money to transport themselves to their offices and with the little one available to them will be able to sustain them to come to office for three days in a week and keep their bodies and souls; and

3. This industrial action of three days ON and two days OFF (i.e. ON on Monday to Wednesday and OFF on Thursday and Friday every week) shall be in place until we are manifestly convinced that management is ready to accede to our demands as contained in our letter dated January 3_2019.

Thank you

Aluta continua Victoria ascerta.

Dare to struggle dare to victory.

Comrade Fajoye Hamzat

JAC secretary

For and on behalf of JAC LAUTECH

NOTE: This is to inform all our members that are biological parents to 100 level students to visit SSANU secretariat at MKO building for the registration of their children with effect from Tuesday, January 15,2019 to Thursday, January 17,2019.

EducationLautech Student Wrote A Shocking Article To Gift Governor Ajimobi On His Birthda by lijoh(op): 8:03pm On Dec 17, 2018
A student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has written an open letter to the government of the state where the institution is located. The school which has been on strike for more than 4 months has attracted heavy critics from all corners and it’s indeed deflating the prestige of Oyo and Osun states which co-own the school.

The writer whose name is known as Oladipupo expressed his mind in the letter which he addressed to the governor of Oyo state, Ajibola Ajimobi, read the details of the open letter below:

Please I love to begin like this, Nigeria got her independence in 1960, today, it was 56 years ago, you as the governor of Oyo state was just of an age below 10.

For me, my mother hadn’t been born, but to history and records that tell the happenings we give thanks. The word “right” is defined as just right, another definition may come as an understatement but let’s understand it as an abstract idea of that which is due to a person or governmental body by law, or tradition, or nature.

To disturb me adjectivally, it means in conformance with justice or law or morality. With due respect sir, I have reminded you about the time of independence because it was since then that every Nigerian has been greatly empowered to live with “rights”.

So it’s, that is owned by the male and female, the handicap, the governors, the tall, the short and even the Nigerian students. As Nigerians we all have it no matter what the state of power has any of us. You, the big political leader have always been trying to prove your rights on exhibiting acts which seem to the people of Oyo state crazy, cruel and barbaric.

And you always provide them answers because you know they all have the right to question you. Like I have talked about the freedom of speech under political condition, I’ll let go the natural condition of right not to look rude at all. So I have the right to write on to reply to this statement “Lautech Students are thugs” and to aggrandize that you are our great role model.

To keep being straight, our Model sir, at the end of reading this message you might decide to order my arrest, but for a man like me who’s sick of living in this so-corrupted country I will be smiling before you in the court of law.

Matter of fact, I need to ask you why you’d get me arrested again after you’d already attempted to kill me on the 9th of December, 2016? Within these words, as our adopted father sir, tell me sincerely if you will order the NPF to fuel the ammo tank and shoot mercilessly at your kids if they are also Ladokites protesting peacefully for resumption after the 6 months and still lingering strike—and not the ones you’ve already travelled out of the country to study out there in fine and total peace?

As the result of the everyday railing of the students, I heard you loud and clear give the oral statement that Ladokites are thug -in-the-Yoruba-dialect during the townhall meeting, now which has caused me a thing which is excusable as moral-cephalalgia which made me take from the tablet of patience to cure myself.

Yes, quite respectful to the Elder I am. Now with the bullets of the day, you’ve hurt a spot, you got to cut one of the tissues that secure my mannerism, I beg, you’ve to do calm with an injured man.

Now I have to take us far back to the 60s, the typical act got done by you in the primary school you attended maybe it was just to prove your right. Right.

I still beg you not to think like I had already delved into your background.

Peradventure when we meet, you will know that I am somehow related to you thus correct me if I am wrong now thou the source of these facts is still no where to be found.

But to present the proof for my accusation–google will provide to any researcher your profile but will they find this on the net?: you are from a great family mother-and-father’s sides. the great father, Okoro, was your big uncle, he was the brother of your father, he was a renowned politician and can be said the first person to be a politician in your family, with the set of Awolowo and Akinloye.

Your father was a very great man, and after Okoro’s death your father became an honorable, our grandfather Gani Ajimobi married two wives on the same day, I say he was a friend of society, he was a big fashion designer, and always smiling, Sir, talking only about the face characters, you are his dead ringer.

Your grandma, “Iya Amosa” was a very rich woman in Ibadan. Your mother was beautiful, and really cared about her dressing. She was a very easy-going and kindhearted woman. To cut the story short, it’s pertinent to say that you were raised with a silver spoon along with your other 9 siblings.

So this is it why you have always been our role model, like everyone education was given to you, at the time when education was sheer free, you began your education at Saint Patricks Primary School, Oke-Padre in Ibadan and completed your primary education at Ibadan City Council Primary School, Aperin to be precise.

On a big day you were going to show this your right as a primary school kid, you made it a mind-blowing, the whole school and the state were like-never-before marveled. After I was told this story I was also shocked and finally realized that it is already late before I chose you to be my role model.

The system of education back then was used to developing a huge fear of the teachers in the minds of the pupils, no matter how silly a kid be, he must be scared of, and he says no word to his teachers.

You were flogged by your teacher alongside others in your class due to some violation, and later to register your grievance and show your right (of speech), you abused the teacher with his simple can-be-called disability, the teacher who got you beaten that day was indeed an eye-bulged-out, so you mocked him by that, also to tell how superior he was to you he decided to chase you out of the school.

On your arrival at home, your mom was worried, she knew you are a type who always wants to display his right, so she invited her friend to accompany her to go to plead to the teacher for she knew you’d have done something big again.

Sincerely, I was being born not to mention I was there but your mom must have inquired like this, “Oga sorry, but what has the boy done?” The teacher explained on, and he would love you to tell your mom what particularly you’d said so he ordered you to repeat what you uttered. To everyone’s surprise, you repeated without subtraction nor addition to your words “The teacher’s eye is a bulged-out” and to be sure, you still asked your mom if the eyes aren’t bulged out.

I stop here, this is the story that tells about the title of this write up. Do you reminisce sir? No one must blame you naturally, you were only proving your right.

Have you now noticed that you’ve always been our good role model? Really, I wish I could account for the rights you’d shown in secondary school, Lagelu incisively.

By that time, such a person like you would be beating up teachers while they beat you as part of your rights. Likewise I wish to tell about the rights you’d displayed in —where the power of rights are strictly vested upon kids and everyone— the United States of America where you studied Business Administration and Finance at the State University New York, in Buffalo, New York. Oh I swear I wish to.

You’ve always been a great man, a disciplinarian, who hates insolence, I also know about the punishment you set on the secondary schools in Ibadan of students whom you said displaying-thuggery.

But you must know sir, I am sorry to explain on, deeds are good and bad, actions are of two, the good and the bad so as rights. You can rate this writeup bad and as an insolence on you, but the whole world regards it good.

The same verdict, your actions against Ladokites, you could think of it “right” but the whole world knows it is “wrong”, I have always known you to be no friend of blandishment but I have totally found myself in a respectful manner as say from my heart that you were supposed to be too strong to go wrong, too great to hate these kids urging for knowledge, too beautiful to fool these kids sitting down helplessly at home for the past six months.

But what have you done sir? Badness, you set about to kill us all while making a peaceful protest on the 9th of December, 2016., your men, the NPF, SARS opened fire sporadically on them, arrested some and injured many.

Here, this is the end of my letter, you can be the governor of the state, but I am the president of my mind and governor of my pen. I am a righter that writes. I am sorry to say, I have the right to show my concern.

It’s fine if you want to act superior like the teacher that chased you out of the school, but remember that God is inferior to no one, likewise, remember that after enough plea the same teacher allowed you to further your education and the best legacy was given to you freely which has taken you to where you are today.

“It’s good to be good because tomorrow is another day”, make the leaders of tomorrow thank you like they appreciate MKO and the rest. I tell you sir, you are still our role model, I mean it when I say you are worthy to be imitated by becoming a different leader, you can be our hero, you can save this world.

Your destiny alone can save the destinies of the over 35,000 Ladokites. You can start it, you can #ReOpenLautech

A fast change in anticipation, my father.
Thanks.
Happy Birthday to you.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance.
God bless you more.
