That was in 2022. He later come on in 2023 to say he was removing it first day in office.

Even if we go by his 2023 comment, 50% removal is not removing subsidy. You are still subsidizing 50%. Why would he want to continue paying the subsidy criminals 50%?
He ment he would remove 50% first and so on...

Immediately is different from unprofessionally..

I hope my story will motivate someone to take charge of their life. I lost my job last year July, and so a friend of mine introduce me to a poultry farm where I am earning 22k per month. A man with wife and two kids o, my wife was not happy with the job even though she has been supportive in her own little way. And then, she suggested that I should learn handwork, and so I decided to learn welder. On getting to the man, he told me I will spend 2 years o, I will pay 70k to learn from him. Me way I no get even 20k, I begged him to collect 50k and he agreed. Then he asked me to make part payment of 30k. I went home and told my wife, and then she gave me 20k to give to the man. I gave the man 20k and he collected it, to my greatest surprise within 2 months I started doing the welding job perfectly. On my own, I have paid up the remaining 30k with small small repairs job he allowed me to be doing for people. And by God's grace, I have started saving up for my tools. I really thank my wife for the advice and the welder too. The man has been a tremendous blessing to me in many way. He even told me yesterday that with the look of things I may be free from him in 2 months time except I decided to still remain with him for a while. Please take charge of your life and stop depending on people for survival.
You will make it in life.

PoliticsRe: Piece On Dangote’s Refinery by LikeAking: 3:46pm On May 31, 2023
Nenum:
250million or mere 25million

Today marks a very historic day in my Country of birth, the largest black nation on Earth.

One of its illustrious sons has broken the jinx of our greatest burden as a nation.

Today Dangote commissioned his massive modern petrochemical refinery situated in Epe, Lagos. The commercial capital of Nigeria and it’s said to be the world largest single-train refinery at an estimated cost of 19billion US dollars.

Today the nation’s political, business and traditional elite from all nooks and crannies joined other dignitaries from every part of the world to mark this noble yet nostalgic ceremony.

These are one of the days I proudly proclaim my motherland to the hearing of any one that cares to listen.

After all is set & done, we must now ask the pertinent questions which must be answered after the entire razz mattazz has ended.

Firstly, when would the real operational activity commence? Or is this another jamboree to just roffle shoulders, like the last time the president came to Lagos on the invitation of The Lagos state government with so much pump and pageantry to commission a locomotive train track that has been under construction for close to 20 years only for fellow citizens to be seen physically pushing the said train on the track barely a week after the purported commissioning?
Up till now no one has embarked on a trip on the said train track.

So it would not be out of place to pose this important question to Dangote also, as our political elites have perfected the act of commissioning dead horses that would never walk or be ridden in this lifetime

The second question is, what would be the determinant price factor or what price index would be used to sell the crude to Dangote? Are we going to be doing a swap deal if at all who determines the ratio & how would the excess be sorted? This should have been stated in clear terms at the said jamboree

At what rate would Dangote in turn sell refined products to his host country? Would there be some sort of discount, since CBN magnanimously gave out dollar incentive at the least discounted rate to Dangote during the construction stage when the parallel market price was said to be 3 times over? No wonder Emefiele was bragging at the ceremony that of the 9billion dollars loan, Dangote has paid more than 70% even without refining one drop of crude (smiling sheepishly).
When I heard that I remembered when HRH Sanusi said if one wanted to round trip the dollar to make 1billion in less than 10mins, it was the easiest thing to do for those political & business elite who are close to the seat of power or CBN governor.
I want to believe Dangote is so honourable that of all the billions of dollar largesses gifted to him in the cause of this gracious construction, none mysteriously found its way to the Ghana must go bags of his fellow brothers in the exchange bureau, the same Dangote that would owe his supplier’s as little as five hundred thousand naira across board for months @ his other businesses. Anyway no man knows when his trip to Damascus would bring the Saul/paul devine transformational encounter.

Please don’t get me wrong, braving the odds to set up a refinery in a country like Nigeria with all the antecedents in the oil sector since Independence is no feat for the faint hearted, for that i doff my hat for Aliko regardless.

The last question would be to our leaders from the Niger Delta who trooped amass to Epe to celebrate this gigantic step. One begins to wonder if non fore-saw the foolishness for allowing such a lofty venture slip through our fingers all the way to Lagos, when the said crude is in our backyard.

If this refinery was sited in the south South (proximity to the raw materials) would
It not have required we all get a standard international airport close by, which would indirectly pacify some of the agitation of the uneven distribution of Government infrastructure across Nigeria.

Anyway this would be another topic for a later date.

In all I pray & believe the refinery would bring about the much needed magic wand to solve Nigeria’s lingering fiasco in the petroleum industry, because no one can use the same “lamba” to fool 250million people as against 25million.

Don't be happy about fuel subsidy removal.
PoliticsRenewed Suffering 02 by LikeAking(op): 3:39pm On May 31, 2023
Nigerians, expecially those that voted Tinubu never see something.

They say FG is spending $10 billion yearly on fuel subsidy, so they will remove the subsidy and now they have just done that.

The removal of the fuel subsidy mean: The mases will be the ones paying the $10 billion dollar fuel subsidy every year. This time we're are paying for fuel subsidy directly from our pockets.

We will be paying the renewed subsidy with our blood, tears, life, etc. E no go easy, because the renewed fuel subsidy has renewed the suffering in the land.

The renewed subsidy has renewed the hyper price hike of goods and services in Nigeria.

Some Nigerians are very happy about FG unprofessional fuels subsidy removal actions, without knowing the implications.

Prices of goods will become very expressive, life will be very hard...

Nigeria is doomed.

I learnt that this is how many of these fuel cabals operate to cheat the government. Some get access to oil blocks ( but cant refine the crude oils) so they ship it and sell it to their cronies that have a lot of stakes in modular refineries abroad, in which they import it back to nigeria at a subsidized rates being paid by the government. So virtually carrying nigerian crude oil abroad to refine, and sell it far higher than even the supposed money without the subsidy, yet come back, claim subsidies, making moneies in multiple ways, claiming they are multi billionaire , forbes this, forbes that. If you look well, they are same people behind all these forex and dollar manipulations.
My fear is that until i see this new government commisioning modular refineries after maximum, 2 years of this price adjustements in each regions, and selling crude oil at local price in naira directly , simuteneoulsy, to the operators, things may be getting worse. If i remeber, tilumbu said he would wave a lot of taxes for investors that want to be part of oil industries revolutions, so that they get waivers to subsidize the price and improve employments to the citizen if elected, ( cos he himself is an oil expert and know much of the industries) BUT CAN WE Really TRUST POLITICIANS in nigeria? Will they allow him to work? Do we, nigerians have that patience? DONT WE, as a citizens like cutting corners just look at how filling stations sky rockets there price over nights over the stock they have at hand? Drop gas price by 10 naira and you will hear them saying they never see any official letters. It will take them 2 months to adjust.
Same thing should be aplicable to all other sectors especially agriculture region by region ,which i also believe that shetimma is also an expert in that sector and can handle that. Reveolutinize mechanized farming and let the price of basic food fall and avoidable.
I dont know if it is practicable or possible. i just dont know.
Sorry to say this...

Even the removal is a big scam, cos the masses will be paying the fuel subsidy indirectly at the new price..

Try understand, this is direct Robert, except the price of fuel is less than 200 naira max.

The money from subsidy if we'll managed can build 5 of Dangote's refinery in 8years.

This subsidy is robbery abeg.

My concern is that the money should not be siphoned into people's pocket
If dangote will sell at a reasonable price..

Else the masses will be the one paying the $10 billion USD per year.

On the other hand the country has been missanged by government.

The $10 billion spent on subsidy can also build plants that will generate more than 45k mega wats we need in this country and many other great stuffs.

I believe Nigerian Tech guys are building things... but for these things to make wave and create jobs for others like this lazy entitled fellow they need funding.

Funding isn't easy to get... Nigeria Tech entrepreneurs relies heavily on funding from foreigners... These foreigners also have their own problems and local businesses to support... Nigerian businessmen with funds will rather invest in physical businesses than online one.

You can create the best App or build the best idea but without funds for at least some form of advertisement and constant improvements your app will be own only by you and your friends...

A good idea only sells itself after 1000s of people have used it and recommends it to others.

Even at that building a successful online business in Nigeria or with Nigerians as your primary target audience is very difficult, Infact not just in Nigeria...
I believe only 1% of the 1000s of startups in Silicon Valley become successful

The Nigerian Tech space is still very young... most online businesses don't even last up to 3 years.
You are not qualified to call yourself an IT guy.

A lot of people have been defending President Tinubu fuel subsidy removal, by saying Peter Obi has a similar agenda and will do the same.

Both men may have a similar fuel subsidy removal agenda, but P O, has a professional approach to this fuel subsidy removal, unlike Tinubu.

P O would have removed or ended fuel subsidy professionally and it wont have any negative effect of the citizens.

Stop quoting PO, to defend Tinubu's unprofessional fuel subsidy removal strategy.

P O, is better when it comes to planning and strategizing positive government polices.
