Agriculture / Agric: The Basis For All Industrialization by lilsoulbigcity(m): 11:19pm On May 18, 2015
Before the creation of man, Agric as been the means of balance on the planet, the creator had to establish an appropriate natural environment for his creatures to co-exist peacefully. The first man, needed things like; food, shelter ,herbs to survive the pre-civilization era, and this necessities have prevailed through to the renaissance up until our present generation/civilization.

Industrialization came to be as a result of a large demand of processed raw materials into more sizable, tangible and edible finished products. Development kicked off around the world and through research and natural advancement the human race become more knowledgeable and found more utilization of the raw materials around them, with the major provider of these raw materials being AGRICULTURE.

Fast forward to modern day, the demand for both commercial goods has been on the increase, industries around the world have developed so much spear heading the commerce and economics of every country, aided by the influence of technology and increase in human population the demand and supply of goods has sky rocketed affecting Agriculture and industrialization ambiguously.

FOR industrialization to take place, the first factor to be taken notice of is the availability of raw materials, which is the function of agriculture,. Various sectors such as ; health, textile, food, commerce even technology all require adequate supply of raw materials to maintain a proper balance in the socio-economic affairs of the world. Pharmacologist require herbs to formulate drugs, clothiers require cotton, rubber, fiber e.t.c to make cloths and most importantly every human being needs food to survive on a daily basis.

With all the obvious importance of Agriculture directly/indirectly across every endeavor of our daily lives much still begs to be worried about concerning the reaction and attitude of both government and citizens toward agriculture. The youths find farming funny or even worst a taboo to their social status , the government across the world pays little or less than adequate fiscal attention to agriculture.

Series of political plots and strategy, it's so sad that the phrase 'let the best man win' is not applicable here, giving the poor quality and democratic credentials of the declared aspirants.

Lets examine another lies from Buhari supporters on economy, this time by Ola Idowu http://saharareporters.com/2014/10/23/if-buhari-easy-defeat-why-fear-ola%E2%80%99-idowu

Quoting 6 paragraphs before the end of his If Buhari was easy to defeat, why the fear? essay

1. If Buhari paid off $4 billion of or foreign debt, how come the debt was higher than it was when he left office?

2. Shagari didn't borrow $15 billion, it was total debt before he left office, meaning, his borrowing plus the borrowing of previous government

3. It is on record that Shagari government refused to follow the IMF guidelines, including devaluation of Naira, the same thing Buhari supporter is using to hype him up

4. The inflation of 40% happened in 1984, that is during Buhari administration

5. Another big lie of the century, Nigeria never, and I repeat, Never operated budget surplus under Buhari!! The only times Nigeria had budget surplus were in 1971, 1972, 1995 and 1996. How these people can look people in their face and tell blatant lies just to sell their candidate is alarming. Nigeria's deficit under Buhari stood at N3.3 billion in 1983, N2.6 billion in 1983 and N3 billion in 1985

I wouldn't want us to start arguing back and forth. Now when you play the video you posted, please skip to 2:44 - 2:56 I quote " The main worry for western financiers now is Nigeria's $15 billion worth of external debt, so today's prompt payment of $50 million dollars in rescheduled interest has pleased the city and helped the new regime economic prospect"

How is payment of rescheduled interest equivalent to payment and clearing of Nigeria's external debt and making us debt free country? The video agreed with my statement that Buhari did not make Nigeria a debt free country.. as a mater of fact, he left more debt than he met. (I will explain the reason for the payment of interest on external debt by Buhari administration later)

I wonder what is the most reliable source, you or Debt Management Office and CBN annual report.

As per the refineries, You failed to provide us evidence that the two refineries were initiated by GMB. I don't take yahoo group as a valid reference, from the NNPC website you posted, the only date there is 1978 when the refinery was commissioned! I will repeat again

The decision to construct the third Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) refinery in Kaduna was taken in 1974 along with that of the second NNPC refinery located at Warri

Buhari was never in the picture when the decision to build those two refineries was taken. It is like saying, because the the Kaduna refinery was commissioned in 1980, it was initiated by shagari... FACTS ONLY!

[quote author=datolee post=27763694]5) Number 5 and 6 will be discussed when it comes to the corruption in GMB regime.

Petroleum infrastructure

Thankfully, they have changed the lie from GMB building two refineries as head of state in 20 months to signing the contract as NNPC chairman. However, keep a close eye to the lie (bolded) of barcanista and other Buhari supporters “initiated”.

It is on record that GMB initiated nothing, he only signed contract as NNPC chairman as the decision to build the 2 refineries was initiated in 1974 when Buhari was nowhere in the government. Here is extracts from NNPC website:

REFINERY PROJECT DECISION
The decision to construct the third Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) refinery in Kaduna was taken in 1974 along with that of the second NNPC refinery located at Warri. However, it was decided that work would commence on the construction of the third refinery whenever the projection of the consumption of petroleum products justifies it.
By early 1975, in view of the fuel shortages experienced then, the Federal Government decided that work on the third refinery should be advanced. It was envisaged that the refinery was to be a simple hydro skimming type refinery in order to meet up with the fuel demand then”
http://www.nnpcgroup.com/nnpcbusiness/subsidiaries/krpc.aspx

Conclusion
Buhari neither cleared Nigeria’s debt nor initiated any refinery in Nigeria.

Part 2 will be: what happened between Buhari, IMF, Paris club and Saudi Arabia loan plus the selective fight against corruption by Buhari.. coming soon
Facts only...
