Actually, with our current economic status, ten years is too small to have steady power. I did a project on the implementation of nuclear power in Nigeria and I stumbled across these facts: Nigeria has 3 hydroelectric power stations and 7thermal stations all with an installed capacity of about 3,600mw and a power distribution grid that can only handle about 7,000mw. This 3,600mw is not even enough to supply Lagos state alone for 24/7 power. Nigeria need at least 100,000 - 120,000mw at the very least. The legislation in place has made it almost impossible for private companies to build power stations and to supply to the national grid. Thus meaning that only the FG can generate power for the grid. The national grid can only handle a paltry 7,000mw and thus needs to be severely upgraded or even overhauled to at least 150% of the expected power supply to be able to handle the power to be generated (and Nigeria needs over 100,000mw). Add to the fact that power stations cost money and that thermal stations which burn either gas or coal wreck havoc to the atmosphere (especially at this time when the threat of global warming is hanging over our heads). Even a 1,000mw nuclear reactor costs over 3 billion USD, we can't afford to generate 100,000mw in ten years. 20, 25, maybe but not ten. Maybe if the legislation restricting private ownership of power plants is changed, we can have sustainable power in 15 years, but knowing the Nigerian legislative process, only God knows if anything can be done about it. |

Pls house, I need your help. I got my hot2 delivered yesterday while at work, I played with it for a while, updated and installed apps on it and put it back in the box for a full unboxing. The problem started when I took it out of the box at home. I powered the phone on, it booted up showing the boot logo and animation and then it just goes blank... If I put a sim in the phone abd call that sim it rings out and even picks the call if I swipe to the right and yet the screen still remains blank. |
This man really needs to shut his trap up. going about making noise for a party whose leaders almost brought this country's economy to its knees... SMH |
theDEVILisHERE: ![]() If you have evidence dude, then post it here for the world to see!!! |
theDEVILisHERE:And where dear sir is the evidence of the existence of Biafra over centuries ago. You people are just not seeing the point here; You have the same amount of Senators and Legislators that other parts of Nigeria have. You have state governors who all receive monthly fedral allocations that go to every state. You have had Igbos as ministers, SGFs, Senate presisdents etc. Yet you complain of being marginalised. What are are these people who you voted in doing to better your plight? or how can a region which gets equal representation at federal levels complain of no representation? What have your leaders being doing while you were being "sidelined" as you put it I think its high time the Igbo community looked inward and rose up to start questioning those who they voted to represent and lead them |
EUROBOMBER:As for your last sentence, you just exhibited the reason why your tribe is not yet ready for a secession
|
EUROBOMBER:How much 'Oil' have you produced from such areas What has the 'oil' you claim to have done to improve the standard of living of your tribe? If you want to leave, you are free to, but as far as I am concerned leaving Nigeria at this point is only going to set you back decades in development Igboland does not extend to the Niger Delta or do you want to force them to secede with you |
I believe what the Igbos should be doing is consolidating to develop their towns, villages and states and making sure that their governors are held accountable for each state's development instead of just going home every xmas/new year holidays to flaunt cash they don't have. I mean, the Igbos basically own Alaba int'l market, Idumota, Computer village areas of Lagos etc and none of their native states can boast of such revenue generating ventures or are even technically equipped to. All they care about is the MONEY... Well you have the money, but its not evident in your native land other than in your respective village mansions. If you were to secede; what will you do when you go back to your respective states? Which world class schools will your children attend? Are you willing to startup your businesses back up from scratch? What exactly will you eat because you are not known for your agriculture? Which power station(s) wil provide your power?... The list of questions is endless Instead of pining for a nightmare dressed as a daydream, we should unite as a country and join hands to take Nigeria to greater heights. |
theDEVILisHERE:Biafrans never ever ever had a nation to start with bro Talking of unjust behaviours towards the Igbos, all major tribes are one way or another responsible for the position Nigeria is now. Y'all started the fisrt coup, did we riot? No PS: Every sensible Igbo man or woman should ask themselves this; If the time comes to secede, can you leave your jobs, houses, businesses and properties and move to the east where there is nothing, no agriculture, no industries and no oil(cos apparently the Niger Deltans aren't leaving with y'all) and live with each other knowing fully well that your tribe leaders do not have any plans towards you and your children's future? |
Silly Quote Doesn't he realize that some factions in this country are actally looking for a reason to attack Igbos. Besides, which successful Igbo man/woman will be willing to leave his/her business in other parts of Nigeria and travel back to the east("Biafra") where there is basically nothing, (no industries or exports of worth to produce, even yams which used to be the pride of Igbos are now mass produced by the north) As far as I am concerned, anybody agitating for Biafra is only exhibiting a high level of stupidity and madness and seriously needs to be locked up in a sanitorium. Simple!!! |
how much for the last one |
