The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences also voted to give honorary Oscars to British editor Anne V Coates, casting director Lynn Stalmaster and documentary maker Frederick Wiseman.

Devastated mum took evil boyfriend back after he killed their unborn child by STAMPING on her pregnant belly
Zuzana Olejarova, who lives in London, thought she had found the perfect man in Marek Habaka when they met in a bar in 2009.

The pair, both originally from Slovakia, had a blissful relationship for two years – but when the 37-year-old flight attendant fell pregnant, Marek viciously attacked her and bounced on her belly, killing the baby.

Now Zuzana is sharing her story to encourage other victims of domestic abuse to come forward.

Zuzana told how she had always dreamt of having children.

She explained: “I knew I wanted to be a mother one day.

“But finding yourself at 30, with no man at my side, I began to wonder if I ever would.

“Then along came Marek. He was 6ft, dark and handsome.

“What’s more he had a good job and appeared the perfect gent.

“To say I was swept off my feet would be an understatement.”

The couple’s relationship progressed quickly; Marek declaring his love weeks later and the pair moved in with each other and travelled around the UK together.

They did everything together and even visited each other’s families in Slovakia.

Zuzana told how Marek, also 37, even asked her if she would marry him one afternoon, just to “test the water”.

She explained: “Marek was the type of man that made you feel loved and protected.

“Every day we laughed together.

“As the months rolled into years, I fell more and more in love with him.”

One afternoon in 2011 Zuzana felt a bout of sickness.

Realising she’d also missed her period, Zuzana took a pregnancy test and was thrilled when it came up positive.

But Marek didn’t share her excitement.

Zuzana said: “My news fell on deaf ears. He just stood there staring blankly at me.

“Suddenly, I saw a side to Marek that I had never seen before.

“Out of the blue he screamed, ‘I never wanted kids. I never wanted a future with you!’ before storming out of the door.

“I stood there confused, still clutching the pregnancy test in my hand.

“We had never had a cross word before, let alone said such vicious things.

“I prayed he was just in shock and didn’t mean it.”

Later that day Marek returned home and Zuzana told him she wanted to keep the baby – but he insisted he didn’t want it.

When she went in for her scan, doctors confirmed she was three months gone – but Marek was adamant she should get rid of it.

Zuzana recalled: “Revealing his true colors, our days were full of upset and bickering.

“Despite his objections, I continued with the pregnancy.”

A month later in August 2011 Zuzana was tidying the house when she came across Marek’s phone.

She admitted: “I’d never been the type to check someone’s phone before.

“But with his recent behaviour, curiosity got the better of me.

“I found myself scrolling through his messages.

“My heart sank as I uncovered flirty texts with other women.

“They read: ‘HOW ARE YOU SEXY?’

“In that moment, the man who had slept next to me for two years, became a stranger.”

When Marek returned home Zuzana confronted him about the messages.

Furious she had been looking at his phone, Marek flipped.

Zuzana said: “He shouted, ‘I don’t want your baby, I never wanted kids!’

“As I sat down on the sofa, trying to take in what I was hearing, he pinned me down and began to jump and bounce on my belly.

“I screamed at him to stop, telling him he would hurt the baby, but at 5ft 4 I had no chance against the strength of a 6ft man.

They spoke out tonight in the wake of new research reported at the world’s biggest heart conference.

More than 500 people a day end up in hospital after suffering a heart attack every single day in the UK.

Now for the first time a study has revealed a link between eating late and a lethal form of high blood pressure which can trigger heart attacks.

Researchers assessed more than 700 adults aged 18 to 65 with high blood pressure, to see what difference diet and eating times made to their health.

One in four people in the UK have high blood pressure.

The study examined the types of foods eaten, levels of salt consumed, whether breakfast was eaten regularly and timing of evening meals.

It found eating dinner late had the biggest single impact on overnight blood pressure.

Incredibly, having dinner less than two hours before bed time did more damage than the long-established risk of having a high salt diet, the study found.

Experts said the study suggested that when people eat could be just as important as what they eat.

A healthy diet meant eating a good breakfast and lunch, but limiting the last meal of the day to a light meal, ideally no later than 7pm, researchers said.

One in four Brits suffers from high blood pressure - known as hypertension - which is one of the key risks for heart disease.

In 40% of cases, blood pressure fails to drop properly overnight, sharply increasing the chance of heart attacks.

Going to bed early could be a warning sign of serious heart problems
In total 24% of those who ate dinner within two hours of going to bed suffered from blood pressure which did not drop sufficiently overnight, compared with 14% of those who ate their evening meal earlier.

Experts said that eating late leaves your body on “high alert”, encouraging the production of stress hormones, such as adrenaline, while it might also disrupt the circadian rhythms.

The research is the world’s first into the links between late night eating and “non-dipper hypertension”.

The Turkish study found those who skipped breakfast were also more likely to fail to see an overnight dip in pressure.

But this had less impact than late night eating. This might be explained by the fact those who ate late night were more likely to skip breakfast, researchers said.

Dr Ebru Özpelit, associate professor of cardiology at Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir, said modern life was encouraging people into “erratic”eating habits which could prove deadly.

Speaking at the annual congress of the European Society of Cardiology in Rome, she said: “Normally at night your body is getting ready for sleep but not if you are eating late.

“If we eat late at night, the body essentially remains on high alert as during the day, rather than relaxing for sleep and stress hormones are secreted causing blood pressure not to decrease during sleep which should normally happen.”

She added: “We must define the ideal frequency and timing of meals because how we eat may be as important as what we eat.

“Eating breakfast is important, we should have a strong breakfast, we shouldn’t skip lunch. We must have a small dinner and it mustn’t be later than 7pm in the evening.”
Blood pressure is supposed to drop by at least 10% at night, to allow the body to rest and recover from the day. If it remains raised, it significantly boosts your risk of heart disease and heart attacks.

Previous studies have linked late night eating to a higher risk of obesity, and to insulin resistance, which can fuel Type 2 diabetes.

And skipping breakfast has been linked with a greater chance of heart disease.

Dr Özpelit said the new study suggested eating late at night had a far greater impact than missing the first meal of the day.

The observational study showed a large overlap between both habits, with 72% of those who ate late at night also skipping breakfast.

But the findings suggested that the late night eating had the main impact, with poor consequences for blood pressure even among those who did eat breakfast.

Researchers said they hoped the results would be confirmed by large population based studies. They also called for more research examining exactly what and when people should eat, to protect their blood pressure.

Professor Peter Weissberg, Medical Director at the British Heart Foundation, said: “It is normal for blood pressure to reduce overnight, even in people with hypertension, more commonly known as high blood pressure.

“However, in some hypertensives their blood pressure remains elevated throughout the night putting them at potentially higher risk of future complications.”

He backed calls for larger studies to examine the risks, adding: “This research suggests that eating a meal late at night may contribute to the failure of their blood pressure to reduce.

“This observation, which needs to be confirmed in further, carefully designed studies, suggests that eating early in the evening may help people to gain better control of their blood pressure.”

A teenager, reportedly carrying a drawing of the Isis flag, attacked a priest with an axe after the failed bid.

A police spokesman said the teen left a bench and ran toward the priest at the altar, but homemade explosives only burned without detonating.

Before he was restrained by members of the congregation, the suspect managed to take an axe from his backpack and attack Priest Albert Pandiangan, causing a slight injury to the 60-year-old's arm.

Local chief detective Nur Fallah said: “Somebody tried to kill the priest by pretending to attend the church service and at that time tried to explode something, like a firecracker, but the firecracker didn't explode, it only fumed.”

Police have said the motive for the attack at the Roman Catholic St. Yoseph Church in Medan, is not clear.

The teenager reportedly carried a drawing of an Isis flag and his ID card.

Rina Sari Ginting, a spokeswoman for Medan police, said: "A terrorism act was carried out on Sunday morning at the Saint Joseph catholic church.

National Counterterrorism Agency chief Comr. Gen. Suhardi Alius told local media outlet Beritasatu that the suspect is a "puppet", too young to have planned the attack on his own.

Suhardi said: “Considering his young age, there has to be someone else who supports him. We are currently digging to seek his identity."

The suspect reportedly wore a suicide vest and was carrying a knife, axe and a pipe bomb in his backpack.

An eyewitness, Markus Harianto Manullan, said: “He sat in the same row as I did... I saw him fiddling with something in his jacket, and then I heard a small explosion and he immediately ran to the podium.”

Police have rescued two young sisters, 8-year-old Himanshi and 3-year-old Deepali, from a small house in North-west Delhi, India after they were abandoned by their parents for being girls. They had been locked up inside their home for days before neighbours alerted Delhi Police.

When the house was broken into, the two sisters were found starved and lying on a broken cot holding each other's hand. Himanshi had deep wounds on her head and Police personnel who went to rescue them noticed worms coming out of the injuries.

The house was stinking, full of flies, mosquitoes and had no ventilation. The children who could barely survive were quickly rushed to Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hospital, Rohini, where they are under doctor's observation.

A little girl, Victoria Martens, who was supposed to celebrate her 10th birthday was found murdered by those who were supposed to protect her, in her family's apartment in New Mexico by police officers, with her dismembered remains wrapped in a burning blanket.

Boko Haram commander, Abubakar Shekau reportedly injured following air raid by Nigerian army. In what one could describe as the most unprecedented and spectacular air raid, the army has just confirmed that as a result of the interdiction efforts of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), some key leaders of the Boko Haram terrorists have been killed while others were fatally wounded.

According to a statement issued by the Army through its spokesman, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the air interdiction took place last week Friday, August 19, while the terrorists were performing Friday rituals at Taye village, Gombale general area within Sambisa forest, Borno state.

Those Boko Haram terrorists commanders confirmed dead include Abubakar Mubi, Malam Nuhu and Malam Hamman, amongst others. “While their leader, so called “Abubakar Shekau”, is believed to be fatally wounded on his shoulders. Several other terrorists were also wounded,” the statement read in parts. In the same vein, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, the chief of air staff, has reported about a series of successful airstrikes against Boko Haram in the last few weeks.

Acording to Mr Abubakar, up to 300 militants were killed during airstrikes in Borno state this Friday. The air marshal announced the news after commissioning the borehole and hospital construction built by the Nigeria air force to address the health crisis afflicting the Bama internally displaced persons (IDP) camp.

Vanessa Marcotte was last seen at 1pm on Sunday in Princeton, Massachusetts when she went for a run.
Cops with sniffer dogs found her body at 8.20pm the same day about half a mile from her mum’s house in what they described as a “horrible set of circumstances”.

The 27-year-old was discovered with burns on her hands and feet and police were investigating a sexual assault.

Massachusetts State Police have now launched a homicide investigation and currently do not know if it was a random attack or not.
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said: “People should be concerned, we are asking them to use an abundance of caution.

“We have a horrible set of facts, horrible set of circumstances and we are going to do everything we can to make sure that this investigation is carried out.”

He added:“We are asking the residents of Princeton and surrounding areas to use an abundance of caution. We are asking the public to be careful and to be vigilant.

“This was a woman who was out walking and jogging on a rural road, we’re asking people in town to use an abundance of caution.

If that means travelling with other people if you’re out, if you’re going to be running or jogging, we’re asking people to do that.”
Princeton Police Chief Michelle Powers said, “We are concerned about the safety of our town residents and the visitors that enter our town.

“We would ask people to pay attention to their surroundings.

“If you see anything suspicious or out of place, please contact the Princeton Police Department or the Massachusetts State Police.

“If you’ve seen anything in the past 24 hours that appeared suspicious or out of the ordinary, please contact us.”



Ms Marcotte worked for Google in New York City having graduated from Boston University in 2011.

Spokesman for the university Colin Riley told F0X25: “We’re so terribly sad for her family and friends. They’re in our thoughts and prayers.”

She had worked for Google for nearly two years and her employer released a statement saying: “Vanessa Marcotte was a much loved member of the Google team, working in our New York office for the last year and a half, and known for her ubiquitous smile, passion for volunteer work and love of Boston sports.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened, and our thoughts are with her family and friends.”

Before she began working for the tech giant the 27-year-old worked in marketing for Vistaprint.

Vistaprint said in a statement: “We are shocked and heartbroken to hear the news about Vanessa.

“She was always incredibly friendly and positive, and her smart, creative and innovative approach to work made a huge impact here at Vistaprint.

“She truly cared about those around her and always made an effort to forge strong relationships.

Yesterday, it caused a huge fight between a car rider and an okada rider due to lack control see photos of the flood. ight between the okada rider and the car rider was a serious one which caused a little hold up  in the street,eye withness said the fight started when the car rider knocked down the okada man with his passenger  returning from an examination and refuse to pay him for his damaged bike parts which was hardly broken,
