madrid5:How can a judgment that brought about clarity over an issue that has been up for debate for a long time now affect judicial credibility? The SC only made everyone aware that elected officials should enact this into law, full stop. The percentage of people who support abortion shouldn't affect the truth in this issue. 1 Like 1 Share |

AmazonTopaz:Who cares about right wing or left wing? I support or align with the Democrats but not foolish enough to not see things differently. The court has no right to make any law but to interpret. You talk about 4th, 9th and 14th amendments, but what you haven't done is to actually point out where the SC went off. 1 Like |

AmazonTopaz:You are the person arguing blindly but you say I am. You are following the rage and analysis of people in the media, people who are politically aligned to go against anything that doesn't go with what they want even if it is right. I asked you a question, what would you expect from the judiciary (in this case, the supreme court), to make laws or to interpret them? Is the abortion issue on the constitution? How is it now a constitutional right? This should not be emotional please. 1 Like |

AmazonTopaz:Nothing was done, the supreme court did the right thing here. Let's not be emotional here. This same supreme court will support abortion in future if the congress can make it a law. What people should be doing is to elect officials who will make this into law instead of the noises they are encouraging online. 1 Like |

America is already a place where the political climate has gone to the extreme. You hardly find anyone in the center these days, everyone pitching their tents at the end of each angle trying to tear the other side down. For some years bow, if the Democrats try to make a law that can be beneficial, the Republicans will do everything to stop it even if it will help the people, likewise the Democrats to the Republicans. Extremism everywhere. 2 Likes |

AmazonTopaz:November is not looking certain for both parties as we speak. If I'm being honest, I think the Democrats are still a little behind schedule when it comes to taking over the house because the economy is not smiling. People will get over this news in a month, but the economy will always remain because that's what actually affects people directly. I tilt towards the Democrats angles in most cases but they are not really hitting the right nails in the right places to give them a clear majority in this year's midterm. They are also being lazy, depending on media to help them instead of doing some ground word like the Republicans. There's still time though, let's just watch how things will unfold. |

...but what are the noises I'm seeing here? The judgment is clear and simple and not against women or anyone. People shouting on the internet are being mischievous and taking advantage of others inability to be objective enough to see that the court is right on this. I am pro choice, but let's be honest here. The supreme court did the right thing here, the constitution never covered this issue, they don't actually have the right to bring it in unless congress passes a law that they can interpret to protect abortion. The court interprets laws, not make them. This isn't against women but a true interpretation of what is or is not in the constitution, at least for now. States can have theirs or the majority in congress can work a universal one for the country. 1 Like |

MikoB:I expected a direct answer from you bro. This poster gave valid points on why he supports Tinubu, refuted some lies expressed in the media against the man according to him, revealed some achievements about him you may not know and so many other things in clear language, but you instead came with this response which is adjacent to his response to your post. This is more emotional than logical from someone who advertised his connection to an advance country like France. That comment right there could have engineered a wonderful thread full of elite ideologies that would have wowed viewers if you had followed up but you didn't, instead you acted like the Nigerians you spoke against. If you live/lived in France like you said, you would have responded like one who understands political objectivity instead you resorted to poverty, snese of reasoning, talk as a way out. Politics / Re: Atiku Picks Okowa As VP Candidate, Will Present Him This Morning by Livelystone01: 12:03pm On Jun 16, 2022 |
Kinzo0917:My problem with him is not that he failed to build anything, it is the fact that he destroyed the little things het met. No free Neck and Watch for students anymore. No free antenatal anymore. No cheap transportation anymore. No cheap school fees anymore in the state schools. Airport is reportedly being sold. Too many loans collection within 6 months. I was angry at Uduaghan, but he is better than Okowa. |

Beremx:Okowa didn't perform well o. He destroyed most of the tiny gains I enjoyed as a student during the last administration who many, including myself considered as below par when compared with their predecessor, Ibori. Check the list below... The free Neco and Waec for students were canceled, the intracity bus that made transportation to be cheap within the state was terminated, the free antenatal for pregnant women was canceled, the Asaba airport sold (can you imagine that a government airport can be sold without details?), the states's higher institutions have increased tuition fees (the poor will struggle in this respect), and the worst is that he borrows monthly. Between December last year and today, Okowa has collected loans about 4-5 times in billions. If you think I'm against him, just try and do some research before you respond you will understand that I'm saying the truth. If not for my siblings in Delta, going to my own state would have been difficult. Nothing works there anymore. |

Ibime:Now i ask, was there any alternative to how Ukraine should handle the issue in the Dombas region? The region has a Russian speaking majority, they are complaining of being marginalized and there has been war going on there for years because this. What if he had granted regional autonomy like Monaco or arranged some other diplomatic ways to resolve the problem over there? Now, these people cried to their indigenous neighbour or same speaking Russia who responded. They've cried about being marginalized, attacked and other issues for years. A good president would try to bring them to the table, accept concessions for it to work and tell them to accept some concessions too. Now here's my take, these Europeans would prefer Ukraine strike hard, use force against their region of disagreement to take over the region due to what they've found in order for their own economic growth, not because they really love Ukraine. This is business to them, their gains outweigh any nation's economic stability and this is what I an talking about. I have not and will not be anti west or anti America but at least I should ask questions or call out issues when they are wrong. 3 Likes |

Foreign Affairs / Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by Livelystone01: 7:18pm On Jun 12, 2022 |
Ibime:Oh...I will try to explain my point of view the best way I can. Don't you think if Zelensky was a very smart politician he would have avoided this collision with Russia somehow? No country enjoys going to war when she understands the collateral damage that may be involved. In this case, Russia knew it would lead to an all out escalation that would result to the sanctions they have now but they went in anyway. The golden question is why? Were they being pushed by someone unseen provocation? I do hope you know that some people will never hit you first but they will try as much as possible to use someone to provoke you so you can feel offended and strike back. I have another question from your comment, was the issue of how Russia is governed really important to the west or it was their trojan horse for whenever they decide to provoke. In the world today, we tend to judge reactions most times instead of looking at what the causes were. Europe wanting or preferring Russia to be a member wasn't out of love but due to the game of politics. Russia is closer and Russia is also a very strategic ally that would help as they target China's global steady rise. I am open to discussion because no man is an island. You may not know this but your quick thinking concerning this inflation last year helped me to save some dollars, though i still got some bruises. I did more research when I saw your post and discovered you were right. I told my friends who ignored because they were carried away by the hype of Tesla and some other stocks, but I saved some of my cash. I even told a boss that he was gambling with a volatile system but he laughed at me then, he regrets now because his portfolio has reduced a lot. What I am saying is that we can comment our opinions and we can discuss to learn and help ourselves instead of the war we have here daily. My reason for being here is because I have my money in the American economy and I need to follow up in every possible way. |
Foreign Affairs / Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by Livelystone01: 1:15pm On Jun 12, 2022 |
Ibime:How comfortable for you to dissect and respond to what you feel suits you. I raised different issues from a president, I mean, the most powerful man worldwide calling a global inflation the name of another president. That is not wrong for you because he is in a line you work with. If another president had done that, or let's say the last president, wouldn't you have raised an alarm of his incompetence or cluelessness? I have always preferred the Democrats but I will never accept everything they do, this is what objectivity is about, instead of just receiving everything as it is being analyzed in the media. I raised another point about how China's economic and military growth has caused a panic to the US and her allies that they are creating an agency to counter it. My question is, why is the growth of another nation a cause for alarm for a people who chant freedom? Does it mean the freedom and growth of other nations must be how they define it? We know they won't attack China directly but will create a mine field for china to walk in so as to justify their plans that have been in hatching. Finally, I don't care if you quote me or not, my issue is if you are ready to discuss like a mature person who is in a public forum not a dictator who wants puppies for control. 3 Likes |

Ibime:The way you comment in this thread shows how controlled you are. You hardly make your points, instead you throw jabs up and down and expect someone to jump into the gutter with you. Know this, I don't come here to act like a pig in the mud, I say my opinion, if you want to discuss them do but instead you always try to force people to swallow whatever you drop and claim others are wrong without making them see from your angle. Isn't this Hitler pattern too? My issue is with the Putin price hike used by president Biden, that's really the expression of cluelessness in my opinion. My take is that the president should find a way to sort the inflation instead of playing the blame game. By November, those Republicans will take advantage and win majority because the economy is a major issue in elections. Secondly, you talk like you don't understand international politics. You act like you don't know that Russia has been a target for decades like China is now in the radar. (We know that they will never confront China directly instead they will use a smaller nation to push their agenda in order to sanction China down. When that happens, people like you will forget to see that they are angry that another "sovereign nation" is being systematically targeted). The only way for the vultures to bring down the Russian economy was to throw a lot of sanctions on them by instigating what is going on. You cannot judge what is happening in the present without looking at how the issue has been going on for almost a decade in the Russian speaking areas of Ukraine but since those you always follow what is analyzed in the media you will accuse whoever questions the origin of the issues in that region. I have always said Russia was wrong to attack Ukraine, but trying to overlook the regional issues that led to this present war is akin to the parable of the ostrich. Don't respond to me with tantrums or jabs in your one-sided view on issues if you want a response next time, or better still, scroll past my comment like I do yours if you are not open to discussion. You use "you Nigerians" like you are from Mexico or like Nigerians shouldn't speak on issues. Isn't this another extremism? 2 Likes |

Putin price hike huh? SMH When election comes, we will see if people will care about if Putin is that president of your country or not. Face issues headlong instead of playing the deflective shield. As it is, Putin will allow the war prolong because the war seems to be profiting him... So called sanctions and propagandas have been ineffective and Ukraine is still suffering from being misled by vulture nations who only deceive naive and weak minded leaders of weak nations to go to war for their selfish gains. 3 Likes |

By now, I'd have been kicking myself... Tesla and Truth social were two deals I ran away from after my personal considerations, if not I'd have been angry at myself by now. For truth social, I was late to the party, I was never going to buy the top in any stock (not since covid) because the market would always correct itself eventually. My target is studying two industries for some time now, pharmaceuticals and EV, especially breakthrough products and see when to push in. ... and please belnavino3, do not buy anything Luna or doge coins at the moment. It's a recycled story that flows through generations and the fact that India hasn't qualified for the FIFA world cup since I can remember made the story a little legit to me then. But I've been asking jokingly where and when the match took place and till now not even the old men who were confident in their analysis of the event could say it. The only thing they say is, what do you want to do with the time and place the match took place? It's a fake story yet seems real. 1 Like |

She openly made a pledge to donate the $7m divorce settlement to charity but hasn't done that since she received the money. This is to tell you how deceitful this woman is. Jennyclay:You just confused me sis. My answer to the first bolded is "yes". The teachers cannot discipline a child after the parents have given an ultimatum against that. You have to understand that many of them (teachers) would be sacked and the public will drag them, tag them and call them names if they discipline any child. After all, many conclude and judge from the first post on social media instead of objectively seeing through the posts. The answer to the second bolded statement is clear on my comment. I said "many" and it might interest you to know that they are the majority. To the third, how is that possible since the children are at home from 4pm or 5pm till the next day and even on weekends? You last statement of "...charity begins at home" is confusing and it contradicts your stand in this issue. I thought you said the schools were supposed to have the responsibility of instilling wisdom more than the parents since the kids spend more time with them and they are also paid? 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Jennyclay:Stop trying to cover up for the defective attotides of so many parents today please. How I it possible for a child who's not in boarding school to spend more time in school than at home? As for your take about disciplining the children, are you asking for discipline from the schools or what? Have you forgotten that private schools are afraid to discipline pupils because most parents have warned them off it? Well, in this case, I blame the school for concealing the incident, but the action of the pupils in the video shows the disfunction in the family unit today. The skill at which the child was engaging in the sex should show you that the parents have failed, or maybe, pampered her into that level due to "wokeness". They are not new to that act at all, both herself and the boys. I need to shock you with this. Yesterday, I went to visit a family friend. I called the son to help me with his phone to check for something, which he did. As I went to his chrome to browse, I was shocked to see the different tabs were filled with xvideos, brazziers or whatever they call it and other porn sites. I became irritated and surprised that a 10 year old child couldn't check for anything else in his phone but sex videos. I wanted to talk with the mom but I didn't because I can't actually find a way to bring the topic up with her. My plan is your talk with him and let him know the danger of such action. 7 Likes 1 Share |
