Religion / Anatomy Of The Office Of The New Testament Prophet. by livingoracle: 9:14am On May 15, 2016
Anatomy of the office of the New Testament Prophet.
The Seer will perceive pictures, lights, colors and words.

There are basically two types of prophets: seeing and non-seeing. The Old Testament uses two different words: ro’eh and nabi.

Ro’eh means to see or perceive and is generally used to describe one who sees (Seer) into the realm of the spirit. The Seer will thus uses visions and revelations to describe your life past and present (forth-telling) as well as things in your future (foretelling).

Nabi literally means “to bubble up” and is used to describe one who gets stirred up in spirit, causing him to utter a “thus sayeth the Lord” concerning things present (forth-telling) and/or things future (foretelling). He hears the Voice of God but does not necessarily see into the spirit realm.

The main difference between the two is how each receives divine revelation. The nabi tends to receive his messages in audio form, while the ro’eh/seer receives them mostly in visual form. Of course many prophets operate as both nabi and ro’eh.

What seeth thou?

The Seer will perceive pictures, lights, colors and words. His task is to tell what he sees, even though sometimes it sounds like mumbo jumbo. And then he must also try to make sense of what he is seeing, which is also not always an easy thing to do.

This is the reason why Seers often seem mentally detached and sound incoherent at times. Downloading information from one realm (spirit) to another (physical) is not as simple as it sounds. Some things often get lost in translation – usually on the part of the listener.

Take for instance one of the visions that St John saw in the Book of Revelation. He saw locusts that look like horses with golden crowns on their heads. Their faces looked like men’s faces. They wore long hair and had lions’ teeth.

Well, go figure.

Macroscopic and microscopic prophecy

The Nabi prophet’s assignment, however, seems to be broader than that of the Seer. The former tends to address national issues and global events. In this sense their ministry can be termed “macroscopic.”

Seers, on the other hand, tend to go personal with their prophecies and this can be described as “microscopic.” It is what popular Zimbabwean prophet Uerbert Angel calls forensic prophecy.

Microscopic or forensic prophecy, by its nature, does tend to get all up in your business. As you stand there listening to the prophet call out your name, address, phone number etc, you have to wonder how much of your personal dirty laundry is the man of God going to hang out in public?

It can be quite a nerve-wrecking experience for a parishioner who knows he or she ain’t living right.

But of course, a real man of God will never embarrass you in public, no matter how black your sins are. This is where the old classical Pentecostal prophet differs from modern Charismatics. The former almost reveled in revealing the sins of the people.

In some cases it was so egregious that when believers heard the prophet was coming to town, half the church stayed at home for fear of being exposed.

Unfortunately some (not all) prophets did that for self-righteousness reasons, hiding behind Old Testament examples like Nathan who exposed King David’s dirt to everyone in the palace. These spiritual shock-jocks just loved the drama that came with all such exposure.

Jesus is the Prototype Prophet

But prophetic drama isn’t Jesus’ style. Watch how he handles the case of the woman caught in adultery. Instead of causing her further embarrassment, Jesus chose instead to embarrass the jokers who came armed to the teeth with stones to kill and bury her. “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone” Jesus double-door dared them.

Jesus is the prototype Prophet, not Nathan, Jeremiah, Amos or any of the other great prophets of the Old Testament. The New Testament prophet today must pattern his ministry after the prototype. He must speak, not to judge and condemn, but to the “strengthening, encouraging and comfort” of believers (1 Cor 14:3).
Shalom!

I think, this is what should be do about fuel subsidy. Read what Malam Nasir El-Rufai said in one of his Interviews with Vanguard newspaper on January, 08, 2012. "If another government was in power, let us assume General Buhari was the President of Nigeria, he would not withdraw the subsidy. He will fix the problem. He will audit who is taking the money in the subsidy, who is paying what, how the money multiply three times in one year and fish out the thieves and deal with them". The journalist asked Elrufai the following question and read what he said... "So, why do you think Jonathan lacks the political will to deal with them?" "Because they financed his election. But Buhari would have sorted that out. That is the first thing to do. Now, while you are paying the subsidy, even one quarter of what you are paying is a lot. General Buhari's administration would have ensured that within 12 months all the refineries are working at full capacity. His administration would have built the fourth refinery that will bring our domestic production to the point that we don't need to import a single drop of petrol. And once we can produce our petrol from our own crude oil, at out own cost, we can sell it at any price we like. That is what Buhari's government would have done. Nigerians made a very big mistake for not electing Buhari, and they are learning every day.

You and I knows is all about fraud to make marketers and dealer richer Because is just a game to play against people with limited knowledge of how they want to rub ordinary Nigerians . When Jonathan proposed subsidy removal they fight him and arrange protest because it will not favor the marketers which many of them are oppositions by that time because there was enough foreign currency and if they said anybody can import it will be possible for a lot of people and there will be too much competitors but today they accepted the removal of subsidy because it will favor them and make the marketers richer and the government because there is no dollars for everyone to import and they said anyone can import knowing full well that is not possible for anybody because of the limited access to foreign currency and even if you get black market you can't deposit neither will you transfer so it goes back that only the same carbal marketers of subsidy will be importing because they has access to CBN to get dollars with CBN rate at 197 and the 145 per liter was calculated base on the black market rate at 325 with the dollars rate alone is too much money already . They created a way to make so much money for themselves from ordinary Nigerians . It was never in the favor of the people but still in the favor of this corrupt individuals . It has been planed when they first stop dollars account and make it very difficult for ordinary Nigerians . This people are wicked and evil just because they understand how to play the people and they know a lot of Nigerians lack of knowledge . Is just a game . Ordinary Nigerians will now pays subsidy to the marketers and the government because the government will be making 48. 9 per liter is just fraud against Nigerians . Nigerian government cannot make our refineries work well but the CBN is financing and providing foreign currency to dongote private refinery . Is just a game well planned . Pure fraud . Everything they condemn and accuse Jonathan is the same things they are doing today Removal of subsidy, TSA what a hypocrite !

Agunnewi:
Dollars increased from N170 to N320.
Pounds from N250 to N456.
Fuel Pump price from N87 to 145/litre.
4 Tomatoes from N50 to N200.
Gallon of groundnut oil from 8k to 11k.
Bag of rice from 9k to 15k

All these within a year, yet salary remains stagnant.

We are really experiencing APC's CHANGE

Better start occupying Nigeria at this minute

It amounts to capitulation and outright deception for those of us who led millions of people, out in the street, few years ago, against pump price increase and against subsidy removal to now give economic excuses to justify same.
The moral flag we raised in the past is now the scale of justice to measure the degree of our conscience in the present.
