I write to appreciate you all for your support, advice and concern. Although the mechanic in Auchi ended up wasting my time and unduly keeping my vehicle in his shop for one month and making me pay almost 50k to tow it to Benin, the mechanic in Benin has fixed it. All he did was change the Camshaft sensors and brain box. I am sincerely grateful. |

Philadelphia: Send your contact here and I'd recommend a Nissan/Infiniti specialist to you that'll fix your car's issue. Sometime ago, a guy did all on his 04 Pathfinder and wasn't getting results until I recommended him to this guy. Till date, he's been enjoying his car. |

chukel: Are they still working on that car? Hope they know what they are doing. That vehicle has stayed too long with them. Hope it doesnt end as a case of balkanized vehicle. Brother I tire oh, it has been one month and a week just for a car that refused to start after driving from Abuja to Auchi. I don't know if the Camshaft Sensors and brain box of 2008 Nissan Pathfinder V8 is that scarce and it's difficult to program the brain box. |

llade: Today I had to take a painful decision to tow the SUV to Benin. The mechanic in Auchi told me he had set the timing and it started. He said the vehicle started but goes off after steaming for a while so the electrician said he would need to replace the camshaft sensors. This was since Monday. I called him today and all he told me was that the electrician has been busy. So haven reviewed fact that the vehicle has been with him for 4 weeks without completely fixing it, I have sent a towing van to move the car to Benin perhaps I will get it fixed there. I have made some progress but still have an issue pending. The guy in Benin has started my 2008 V8 Pathfinder but the issue is when the vehicle starts it revs well and do not go off after the engine gets hot. But the issue is after he puts off the engine it kills the Camshaft/Camshaft Sensors and he will have to replace them before it starts and kills the sensors again. What do I do now please. Thanks all for support and advice. |

llade: Good Day All, just to update the house and ask for the way forward. I spoke to the mechanic although am in Lagos presently and he is with the vehicle in Auchi. He said a new ECU or brain box has been gotten and the old one replaced. He also said the new ECU is now bringing light to the plugs, nozzles which the old ECU did not and there is communication between the ECU and other parts of the vehicle. Just as I was elated to hear that he said the vehicle has lost timing and that he has to be reset the timing before it starts. Please is he on track cos he said he has adjusted the timing and is waiting for the programmer to complete his work and start the vehicle.

llade: Good Day, I own a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder V8, see the pictures below. I travelled with it from Abuja on Saturday, 20th June 2020 to Benin enroute Auchi. When I got to Auchi, I bought fuel at the NNPC Mega Station, I must admit that after buying fuel, I wanted to start the car when I noticed the gear lever was on drive position. I moved it to park but when I turned the ignition, it refused to start. From that Saturday to Tuesday, 23rd June 2020 several mechanics from Benin came to check the car and their conclusion was for me to replace camshaft sensors and ECU. Scan results showed the following codes: P0447, P1564, P1615, P0340 and P0345. I have bought over 10 camshaft sensors and three ECUs(brain boxes) but the vehicle cranks but has still refused to start. Please what do I do. Thanks. Car Talk › Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by llade(m): 9:49am On Jun 30, 2020 |
nissparts: Hopefully, no serious damage has occurred from trial and error approaches by mechanics. Ignore all other codes asides from the P1615. Your key needs to be reprogrammed with the ECU (Brainbox) Get a key programmer and put the original ECU back. Am scared oh cos the one so called electrician has used omo and water to clean the brain box saying that is how it can be cleaned now when scanned the brain box does not communicate with the car again. |
Car Talk › Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by llade(m): 9:45am On Jun 30, 2020 |
chukel: please return your crank shaft sensor and ECU. Nothing wrong with them. You have an immobilizer code. Your immobilizer may be toast. Located inside your steering necks, very close to the key hole. It costs about 7k to 10k. Once replaced, program the key with it. Dazzol. Car will start. When you are back to Abuja, try and sort out other codes. Really don't know why peeps like driving around with check light. Observe the behaviour of the security light in the car when the key is inserted into the steering key hole. Steady, blinking or disappears? Nb. If you have another key for this car, try it before changing any item. What is the meaning if the security light is steady, blinking or disappears when the key is inserted. |

aieromon: You need to change the 2 camshaft sensors. If you're trying to replace the sensors with used ones, it's going to be a whole lot of trial and error. Did the technician check out the starter motor? Keep your old ECU well. Where do I get brand new camshaft sensors and how much please. |

myhero: I have had similar experience on my fx35. Its simple to fix. Invite a good electrician and tell him to chance the car relay and rewire it. Relay is about 1,000 to 1,500(one thousand naira to one thousand five hundred naira) So u mean I do not need to change the brain box and Camshaft sensors. |
