Edo people would definitely not take it lightly, but don't you think you are missing something important here? If you dismiss every criticism all in the name of tribalism, you wouldn't solve the problem. Why do the Edo in particular do such things? Why is online scamming common with Yoruba's? Why does it seem only the ljaws produce militants? Why is Mexico and Columbia in particular popular for drug crimes?
The answers to all of these would mostly be cultural or sociological, we have to study these tribes and countries to see why some of those particular vices are almost unique to them.
It doesn't mean the entire race is involved or there aren't great achievements from them also.

but you perfectly understand my point here, the stereotyping has been with us in Nigeria and I haven't seen anyone (atleast in recent times) come out openly on a national TV to accuse a certain part of having questionable character.

I can't believe I just read this as a defence to my statement. That a supposed gentleman came on a national TV and mentioned about 6 Anambra towns and said people from those areas have questionable character? I can't remember exactly the tone of Aisha's statement but I can remember that the didn't go down well with Edo people.

South Africans are all over Facebook and forums tagging Nigerians and lgbos specifically with drugs even on their forums like soccer Zuma(a football forum), so it's possible he had such an experience in SA.

This is not my point, how can someone come to national television to call a tribe derogatory names. Just like igbos are fingered in drug business, the Yorubas are also in ritual acts but can someone come on national TV to call Yorubas ritualist?

Note that he didn't say all Igbo's are drug dealers but some have made it so rampant in SA, such that he was asked at the Airport in SA of his tribe. He made it clear that it is SOME, but it is a big problem in SA because they are tarnishing the image of the Igbo tribe in SA.

He later came up with that delusional claim of how he went to South Africa and the South African police confronted him and asked him if he was igbo and then he said yoruba before he was let go. How they cook up lies to paint igbos black and Yorubas white.

I doubt if any tribe can come out on national television to call the Yorubas skull miners or call the Fulanis terrorist, but the seyi Adetayo felt so comfortable pouring out his hatred on the Igbos via channels tv.
