This is wickedness. If you know you cannot take care of an animal, why buy it?

It may interest you to know that; not every divorce or marriage failure cases we see or witness in Nigeria was as a result of the works of Our Village people. Some of the causes are from the wives and today we shall be looking at the types of wives that need to change their ways to avoid Marriage Failures. 1.- Grandmother wife – completely ancient in thoughts, deeds, and appearance. No romance, ties a wrapper to bed and refuses husband's move everytime... 2.- Office wife –she is happier at work than at home, leaves all home functions to nannies and maids... 3.- Acidic wife – caustic tongue, can inspire suicide with the things they say, abuses her husband/in-laws or relatives or anyone from morning till night without getting tired, can stay moody for days without making their worries known and you wouldn't just know what's wrong with them, their happy mood comes up once in a week in their time table... 4.- The Aide-de-camp wife – has zero tolerance for any other woman working with or around her husband... 5.- Dustbin wife – extremely dirty & unorganized – the entire house is always in disarray, always looking unkempt with rough hair do,body odor, torn and dirty undies... 6.- Pampered wife – unrealistic, doesn’t want to be scolded (or she may break down), wants to be treated like she was in her father’s house, spoilt, loose, hates to be corrected... 7.- Party wife – only interested in pleasure, unavailable every weekend, invests so much on wears for parties, borrows when there's no means... 8.- Headmistress wife – richer than the man, she combines that power with arrogance and pride to torment the man,too strong to be bent... 9.- The boxing partner wife – no submission, constant contest for leadership. Has a timetable of chores/sex for the man... 10.- The Dictionary wife – does not welcome any opinion, must do as she pleases, have her way at all times, she's perfect and knows more than all... If you're one of these wives, there's still enough time to change and get the heart of your husband freely as if he's being charmed.. The returns OR your husband's good treat thereafter would look like a magic to you... Trust me |

STEP SIX - CHOOSE A SUITABLE MATE When selecting a breeding partner (most likely a sire for your dam), there is a simple principle to bear in mind: mate animals that complement one another. Choose a dog whose bloodlines will strengthen your bitch's weaknesses and emphasize her good qualities. For example, if your bitch's coat is not as good as it might be, then find a partner with a good coat, from a line of dogs with good coats. Of course, practicing this common sense maxim can be very complex because you must weigh all the factors that contribute to the dogs' traits and appearances. This is an area where research and the advice and experience of other breeders are invaluable. Two vital factors to keep in mind as you make your selection are temperament and health. Temperament is a hereditary trait in dogs, although it can be influenced by other external factors. Selection over many generations eventually produced breeds with the correct temperament to pull sleds, follow scent on trails, or retrieve game. The inheritance factors of temperament are complex. However, you should never consider breeding a dog with a questionable temperament. As far as health goes, you should be aware that dogs are subject to many hereditary defects, some of which are potentially crippling or fatal. If you breed, your goal should be to produce dogs that are not affected by the major known hereditary diseases occurring in your breed. |

1. Installmentally: This “word” is a favourite of many Nigerians, but, sadly, it simply does not exist. You won’t find it any reputable dictionary. The correct thing to say when “installmentally” comes to your mind is in _"instalments"_ or _"by instalments"_. 2. Plumpy: Nigerians use _“plumpy”_ when they want to say that someone is chubby or slightly fat. The correct expression is _plump_. 3. Disvirgin: This particular “word” is used severally on a daily basis, especially by Nigerian men when they intend saying that a woman has lost her virginity to a guy. The correct word to use, however, is _"deflower"_, because “disvirgin” is not a word. 4. Crosscarpeting: This is a favourite of Nigerian politicians and political analysts alike. They use it when they want to say that a politician has dumped his political party for another party, usually a rival party. The right terms to use when describing this scenario are _"party switching"_, _"defection"_ and _"crossing the floor"_ and not “cross-carpeting” or “crosscarpeting.” 5. Go-Slow : The word go-slow exists, but not in the way Nigerians use it. A “go-slow,” in the peculiarly Nigerian context, is a situation in which road traffic is very sluggish due to vehicle queues. However, go-slow in the English language actually means _"an industrial tactic used by employees whereby they intentionally reduce activity, productivity and efficiency in order to press home some demands"_. When this happens, you say that work in the office, factory or organization is at a go-slow. The correct terms to use when road traffic is very sluggish due to vehicle queues are _"traffic jam"_, _"traffic congestion"_, _"gridlock"_, and (less technically) _"hold-up"_, not “go-slow.” 6. Cunny: “Cunny” is not found in authoritative dictionaries, but it can be found in some slang dictionaries. Over there, it is a slang used to refer to a woman’s private part. The correct term to use is _"cunning"_ (which is used to describe someone that is being deceitful or crafty) and not “cunny.” 7. Opportuned: There is nothing like “opportuned” anywhere in the English language, but that has not stopped its blatant use by all and sundry in Nigeria, including journalists and writers. The correct word is _"opportune"_. The word opportune is an adjective; therefore it has no past tense. An adjective has no past tense. However, some verbs can function as adjectives or adverbs in a sentence. These verbs are called participles and they do have past tenses. They are not pure adjectives. Examples of participles are fattened, amused, disgusted, mystified, overwhelmed, upset and bored. Be that as it may, opportune is a pure adjective and not a participle, therefore it has no past tense. Opportune means appropriate or well-timed. 8. Alright: “Alright” is a misspelling of the term _"all right"_. All right is used when you want to say that something is adequate, acceptable, agreeable or suitable. To hardcore English language linguists, “alright” is not a word. However, its usage is gaining traction and it’s increasingly becoming acceptable. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary – which is considered the gold standard among American English speakers – has recently drawn a lot of criticisms for its permissiveness when it began indexing some otherwise colloquial and street language terms, including “alright.” Most linguists disagree with the gradual acceptance of “alright” as a word by the public and even the media, while those in the minority are “alright” with it. 9. Wake-Keeping: “Wake-keeping” exists only in the imagination of a few English speakers. As a matter of fact, there is no such thing as “wake-keeping.” The correct word is _"wake"_ and not even “wake-keep.” Both “wake-keeping” and “wake-keep” are ungrammatical. 10. Screentouch: This bad grammatical expression gained currency in Nigeria and neighbouring West African countries with the influx of made-in-China stylus pen touchscreen not-so-smart phones in the mid 2000s. It was a novelty then; many in Nigeria had not seen it – or even thought such advanced technology was possible – before. So, they looked for a name to call it and “screentouch” came to mind, after all you just touch the screen and it starts working. In case you’ve still not figured it out yet, the correct thing to say is _"touchscreen"_ and not screentouch. 11. Trafficator There is no word like this. Nigerians use it when driving and want to alert other road users that the driver wants to turn to either left or right. The correct term is _"indicator"_ as a sign to indicate that the driver is either turning right or left. Do have a great week of less grammatical blunders. Feel free to add your own let's educate ourselves. |

STEP FIVE - UNDERSTAND THE COMMITMENT Raising puppies is a full-time job. During the first couple of weeks the dam normally takes care of the puppies' needs, but complications, such as a dam with no milk or an orphaned litter, may arise. It is the breeder's responsibility to provide a safe, warm, dry place for the puppies and proper food and water for the bitch. Puppies are even more work (and more fun!) when they are weaned. The extra feeding, cleanup, grooming, training, and veterinary care adds up to a lot of hours -- and not much free time for you. Another factor that you must consider is the financial cost of having a litter of puppies. From the genetic screening and health tests before breeding to the extra food, supplies, and medical care required after the puppies are born, the cost of whelping and raising puppies can be very high, especially if complications arise. Responsible breeders make sure that their puppy goes to an owner who will provide it with the same love and devotion for life that the breeder has provided. This means careful screening and evaluation of each person or family interested in getting a puppy. Responsible breeders learn everything they can about their breed and know all the pros and cons of ownership. It is important to share this information -- including the negative aspects -- with prospective puppy owners. You should be ready to explain why a dog requiring a lot of coat care or training may not be the best match for a workaholic or why a tiny dog may not be appropriate for a family with small, active children. You should be committed to placing puppies with owners who will provide excellent care. |

STEP FOUR - BREED TO IMPROVE The motto of the responsible breeder of purebred dogs is "Breed to Improve." Every dog is the best dog in the world to its owner. Responsible breeders, however, know to avoid "kennel blindness" -- in other words, they take a step back and honestly evaluate the good and bad points of their dogs before making the decision to breed. The goal of breeding, after all, is to produce a better dog and a quality pet. Examine your dog carefully. Recognize its flaws. If you decide to continue with the breeding process, look for a mate that will eliminate or balance those flaws. The national parent club for your breed may also provide assistance. One of the best ways to get an objective opinion of your dog is to test it against others. Consider attending a dog show to determine how your dog measures up against the best specimens of its breed. |
Tellemall:well said |
STEP THREE - PREPARE YOURSELF FOR BREEDING A LITTER Breeding dogs has been a passion for people through many centuries. Part art, part science, and total devotion, breeding will show you all the best in the human-and-dog bond. It is exciting and challenging. Breeding purebred dogs is also time consuming, expensive, and, occasionally, heartbreaking. If you go forward, your underlying purpose should be to improve the breed -- not just increase its numbers. Breeding a litter should begin with knowledge. Responsible breeders devote time to learning as much as they can about their breed, about canine health and training. Study your breed standard. This is the official version of the "perfect" breed specimen and should be the starting place for any breeder. The AKC offers breed videos with real-life examples, and many parent clubs offer more detailed, illustrated versions of their standards for more in-depth research. Attend dog events. Watch dogs in action and study the pedigrees of those you like. Ask questions of breeders involved in your breed. Find and attend a local club meeting to meet other breeders. Read, read, read! Your library, bookstore and the internet are invaluable sources of information about canine health and breeding. - this is where many fall into. They don't know and are not willing to learn. Nowonder a Nairalander @Tellemall made a very powerful point; which to a very large extent, is Correct. See the comment below

WanyeKest:First, I will ask you; What is a Hobby? To me, I won't say can be a hobby since it requires more processes and requires dedication... |
Breeding Quality/Standard Dogs takes processes... it's quiet a pity that everyone now claims to be a breeders because they've seen/heard that selling pups can fetch some money(even though all, I mean all, know nothing about dogs). No wonder, we get to see rubbish and inferior dogs in the name of advertisements here. Many of those who call themselves popular breeder are just noise makers who rear(not breed; because they know little or nothing about dog breeding) dogs for "money". I want Every Nairalander to Practice all I will be post here. so that you won't fall prey any more. RESPONSIBLE BREEDING I will be Listing Guidelines but Before that, I will ask a question. ARE YOU READY TO BREED?-If yes, then thee following steps are for you. 1. Research on breeds and choose the one you not only feel you are okay with, but can handle or take care of. Use Google- it is always there to help you. Also you can always send your questions to www.fb.com/kennelclubofrivers or you can also post your questions here as lots of knowledgeable people will be willing to help. don't seek help from marketers/peddlers. they have nothing to offer to you. All they know is market, buy and sell 2. Research on the Breed standard of the breed you've chosen and work with it. Know your Breed standard it's like the BIBLE in Breeding world. 3. Prepare Yourself for Breeding a Litter 4. Breed to Improve 5. Understand the Commitment 6. Choose A Suitable Mate 7. Know Your Genetics I will be taking them one after the other..... and please note. Number 1 and 2 has been taken care of(even though something might be added to it ![]() |
